The horse I rode jumped from my leg brushing his belly, so I had to float my legs off his body the entire time. I'm not sure he was well enough to ride that day if his belly was that tender. The other horses did not get along and fought while on the trail. This led to one horse spooking/attacking another and caused my friend to fall. She had difficulty walking, but was asked to get back on the horse despite laying on the floor in pain. After she couldn't get on, we thought the guide would call for help. But we found out later that the guide simply called her coworker and told them she'd be late for her next ride. Are you kidding me? Someone gets hurt and your first thought is your next paycheck? Our friend had to continue on foot since the guide told us we could not get off to help her. I don't think she would've made it all the way. We were lucky to run into fire authorities that gave her a ride. The authorities clarified they were NOT contacted by the guide and they were there for a separate event. We took our friend to the ER ourselves to get a spinal scan which thankfully turned out with bruising only. Afterwards, we were not offered a refund. We get it, horses have bad days and are unpredictable. But there is no excuse for having a guide that is so severely untrained and unempathetic. In a real emergency, you do not want to be caught in the middle of a nowhere with no signal and a "guide" that doesn't even know how to call for help or care about you. She just sounded like she wanted it over with. Really horrified and disappointed by the negligence here.

I was looking for an instructor who is also sensitive to training me, a person who has never ever handled a horse or any equipment that has to do with horses. I've had many instructors in the past for other things I've tried, who are angry and use condescension in their instruction and this memory has held me back for a while in trying anything new. We were looking for somewhere that could teach a young child, and after chatting with several places, we decided to give Bennett farms a try. I know nothing about riding, and my decision was based simply on the fact that Nancy from Bennett Farms understood a lot of my concerns about my young daughter riding (short lessons, Samler pony, what she would be learning, etc). The people here are ridiculously friendly, and they've been so kind and welcoming to my daughter, it's amazing. Eloise, her teacher, is fantastic - patient, calm, and confident - and my daughter has been improving steadily since she started here. The other people we've met at Bennett, from the people taking care of the horses to the other owners, have been really great. I have always wanted to ride a horse since I was a little kid. Something about horses and myself go hand in hand. They are powerful animals and I like power to a certain extent. Since my son knew how much I have been wanting to ride a horse, he surprised me and got 2 tickets to go to horseback riding. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the tickets. With that being said, him and I went there beginning of this year. You get to choose the duration of the time, what type of horse you want to rent, and once you get on it you also choose the speed how and what you like. As beginners, we went for slow-to medium. It was perfect for an entire hour. Tickets for both adults and kids are $50, per person. Trust me, it's so worth it!! The staff were very welcoming, accommodating, understanding, asked us if we had any previous injuries, cuts, wounds, heart condition before you sign the consent form and get on top of that poor animal that had to take us around and round. We chose to go and see different scenic sites, and it also takes you around Griffith park area. It has many different trails and we asked for ALL or nothing. Who knows when will I ever experience this wonderful pleasure again? We had a great time, it goes straight with a whole hour w/out making any stops. Get some water with you. The only downside is that they don't except any other method of payments except cash. That's ok, it didn't bother us. There is a guide that goes with you to make sure you are safe and so are the horses!! Has parking, restrooms and I am glad that we went on this journey. Hours of operation is every day from 9AM to 5pm. You can make reservations online or just simply go in person. All are welcome!! Forgot the names of our horses though. Rose literally couldn't have been more helpful! Genevieve was our guide/instructor for the day and was just as above and beyond spectacular. Just like Rose, she was incredibly helpful and informative right from the jump, and even asked my fiancé if she had any preferences on what horse she wanted to ride since it was her birthday! Despite all of this, two other riders that were supposed to be riding with us were giving Genevieve a really hard time about wearing a helmet for the duration of the ride (among other obnoxious remarks).
