I was looking for something specific & had better choices at the Nike store. The associate was not very engaging or helpful. She never moved from her position near the front of the store. When I asked about tennis shoes, she pointed to a side wall. The store is clean and organized. If you are looking for shoes, I would include this location (just don't expect much help).

From the moment we entered, the customer service was disappointing and unprofessional. The employee at the door, who later identified herself as the assistant manager, did not greet us, welcome us, or acknowledge us in any meaningful way. As I shopped, it appeared that she was monitoring my movements from aisle to aisle, which was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When I selected shoes and had my granddaughter try them on, the employee made no effort to offer assistance, ask if we needed help, or check if we had found everything we were looking for. When I went to check out, the assistant manager simply walked to the register and told me to bring my items over. She did not ask if I was ready to purchase or if I had found everything I needed. I also requested a military discount and was prepared to show my military ID, but was told it would not apply to the shoes I selected. No clear explanation was given, and the policy seemed inconsistent and unclear. During the checkout process, instead of focusing on my transaction, the assistant manager carried on a casual conversation with the security guard, who was eating popcorn at the time. They openly discussed other customers in the store, which I found highly inappropriate and unprofessional. This was not only poor service--it was unacceptable behavior for someone in a management role. As the first and primary representative customers encounter, the assistant manager set a negative tone for the entire experience. If this is the standard of customer service that Famous Footwear accepts from its leadership at Tanger Mall, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this store to others. I strongly urge corporate leadership to review both the professionalism of the store's management and the clarity of its military discount policy. Customers deserve clear answers and respectful service at every level of the organization.

I shopped at the Baltimore National Harbor location and although busy, Aneese gave me wonderful service. I bought 4 bracelets (2 of which she suggested) and checked out. The registers were having trouble running cards so it took a while to check out. ANEESE was attentive and communicated very well but she never mentioned signing up for anything or a warranty. One of the bracelets I purchased was the "Path of Life" bracelet ($40 value) and the charm had some crystal stones on it (an upgrade from the one I was replacing). By the time I got home, 2 of the stones were missing. The next day I went back to the same location. Immediately there was a different vibe. A woman named TYRICE appeared out of the back room, stood still and folded her arms. No welcoming gestures at all. I explained to Tyrice that I purchased a bracelet the previous day and stones were missing. She explained that maybe it was just that one and they could possibly replace it IF I had a warranty. Although she offered to replace the bracelet without the warranty. I told her I didn't want the same bracelet. It seemed that I would lose stones with this design. I offered to purchase more bracelets with the price difference. She said okay but still pushed to replace it with the same design. She finally let me get the "Path of Life" bracelet that had no stones on it but lied to me and said this one costed more than the one I was returning. She switched the bracelets and when I asked for a receipt... refused to give me one. I'm assuming this was so I could not see that she was charging me the same price for a cheaper item. She told me several times that I shouldn't be able to exchange because I didn't have a warranty. I understood the policy but was willing to purchase more with the $20 price difference. I ended up ordering online. Unfortunately, I will never shop in your stores anymore. Tyrice was so dishonest. I felt like she wasn't welcoming at all. While she was trying to avoid an exchange/return she actually made me not want to purchase anything else.

I initially stopped by to pick up the latest release from one of my favorite authors, but somehow left with two books instead. (Book lovers will understand!) I was warmly greeted when I arrived, and the welcoming atmosphere immediately made me want to linger and browse. What I appreciate most about MahoganyBooks is that it does much more than sell books. The bookstore is intentional about creating space for authors of color to be seen, celebrated, and supported. From book signings and author events to community activities and wellness-focused gatherings, it's clear that they're building community through literature and culture. After browsing the shelves, I visited the small café inside the bookstore for a smoothie before taking my new books down to the waterfront. Finding a bench by the water and reading a few pages while enjoying the beautiful views of National Harbor was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Between the thoughtfully curated book selection, welcoming atmosphere, café, and beautiful waterfront location, the experience feels like much more than a trip to a bookstore.

If you're a member of a sorority or fraternity, they sell merchandise here and had a good selection of all organizations. The staff were nice and I browsed a bit. MahoganyBooks has a huge selection of books for all ages. Everything is from a Black author or related to Black culture. The prices are in line with other bookstores, and you can be proud to support their local and diverse mission when you shop here. As a whole, National Harbor felt planned, corporate, and cold, but MahoganyBooks is the exception to this. If you're in National Harbor for a conference or convention, this is a must-stop and must support business.
