This Del Taco location on Cherry Valley Blvd. in Calimesa just keeps getting worse as time goes on. Customer service goes a long way in business, and unfortunately, this place is lacking it. On 10/1/2025 at 10:59 AM, I placed a breakfast order in the drive-thru. I was asked to "hold on," and by the time the employee returned, she said breakfast had just ended; even though it wasn't even 11:01 yet. I thanked her and took my business to Jack in the Box instead. There were no cars in the drive-thru and only one person inside the lobby, so it's not like they were too busy to take my order. As a worker or manager, I would think you'd want to complete the order if it came in before 11:00. ZERO STARS!!! I've been here a lot and it's always been good. Went there today and had problem ordering on the app. I asked an employee if they could help with a free reward I was trying to get. He said tough, nothing I can do. Surprisingly bad attitude. He was arguing with the cook about something. The food took about 15 minutes to get out and the order was wrong. The kid copped an attitude when I took the food back up to the counter. Then he and the cook start yelling at each other again. I'd like to point out something that no other review mentions; This Del Taco was amazing when it first opened, probably because the employees originally trained actually knew what they were doing but it is VERY strange how their staff is like a revolving door. Something has to be wrong with local management. I go here semi-often and everyone is different except one specific older lady on the mic or at the window saying "welcome to MY del taco--". If she's the manager, reconsider not actually working the floor or I don't know if something is behind the scenes but it's half rare to see smiles from the employees. I love Del Taco. When I moved to the East Coast for a year I was deprived and I missed it so much, and now there's one so close to my house and I couldn't be happier. Getting there: Its right off the 10 fwy. If you're going East, then you are going to exit right off Cherry Valley and you will see it to your left-hand side. Experience: This place is very new. I haven't even been able to go inside yet because of COVID, but the staff is super friendly. They are a little slower, but that's expected because of how new they are. Downside to this location is that it's always busy. It's literally the only food joint in the area that's built and open. This makes it inconvenient on so many levels. Drive-thru line is always long. Food order accuracy can be skeptical at times. Make sure to check the bag before you drive away. Also, be aware, they're skimpy on hot sauce packets, so always ask for more even if you don't know how many they've given you already. Chances are, it could and may only be one. I was given 6 taco sauce packets without asking for them and yet they could not part with 1 or 2 free ranch dressing packets......Makes no sense and does nothing but irritate the customers, who HATE being nickled and dimed to death. Service was terrible, with everyone busy working the drive-thru. Then when my order was ready, it just sat on the shelf with no one bringing it to the counter to deliver it to me. Let me start off with, this Del Taco, is better than most when it comes to the food and portions. But I'm giving it 3 stars bc this location thinks it's ok to close the dine in for customers bc it feels like it. I'm a truck driver and I can't pull through the drive thru not only that, it's hot outside and I want to eat comfortably. Anyway, I knocked and they agreed to let me in and order, which was nice, but as I'm ordering I notice that they have plenty of employees to allow customers to dine in.
