So, it's 11:27 PM and they aren't serving breakfast? All Del Taco's start breakfast at 11 PM... AND they have the times for breakfast on their physical menu board. So, I ask for a combo #4, and am told the grill and fryer is closed... and that they can only do tacos and burritos... so... if the grill is closed how are you making my food? How am I suppose to get my fries? Why are you open until 3AM and you can't make my food? Why are you getting paid to not work? It didn't help that the employee couldn't understand that I needed a minute to decide on my food to only be denied. Probably the worse experience anywhere... where was the warning that you couldn't make my food when I was deciding? Or why are you even open? So I drove to Tustin's location where they served me breakfast at 11:37PM because they serve breakfast and have their grill on. Every stinking time I order a BACON double Del, they forget the bacon! I always enunciate the Bacon part in my order too! Why is this so hard to take my order correctly!? Am I supposed to check the bag every time? And the fries were undercooked. And they didn't give me a receipt. JFC, god help us if they do raise the minimum wage to $15/hr. read more

This was my go-to Del taco for the past two years. It's nothing really special, just you typical local Del taco with decent fast food and ok service as you would expect. However, I swear I will never go back to this location. About 1.5 months ago when the COVID-19 pandemic was about to reach its peak and shelter in place was announced, I went to the korean market in this plaza to pick up groceries for my family. Of course, the parking lot was completely packed and after circling a few times, I just decided to park in the lot in front of this Del Taco and walk over. After I got out of my car, an employee came yelling out the front door that I can't park there and it's Del Taco parking only. I told him there weren't any signs posted anywhere and there were two other open spots next to my car. Also, there was only one party inside so no one was even trying to go to the restaurant. He responded that they don't need signs (also, how are people supposed to know not to park there if there's no signs) and there's no one inside because people like me was taking up all the parking. I'm not sure about you but if I wanted Del Taco and there was no parking then I would just go through the drive thru especially if there was NO drive thru line. He insisted that I needed to move my car or he would tow it and came over to take a picture of my license plate. He also said he already talked to his manager and he's allowed to do this. I ended up moving my car and looking for another parking spot but this man should be ashamed of himself. We're all just trying to survive this pandemic and the least he could do is share some kindness. Have some humanity. read more

Ordered 5 chicken soft tacos. Midway through my meal, found an ant coming out of the wrapper. Thought nothing of it as it could've crawled in from when I arrived at my house. But then I looked inside the to go bag and found 2 more ants trying to crawl out. I don't usually write yelp reviews but this is ridiculous and disgusting. I do not leaving negative reviews but I feel it's the k my way things will hopefully get better. The customer service and employees are always nice when I go during the day and night time. Unfortunately it's very inconsistent. One day the burritos are a good size and my order is correct. That's usually during the day. However at night it's inconsistent. My order is usually incorrect and the serving sizes are a lot smaller. I believe once the night shift improves on this, it will be a all around great experience. I will continue praying I come here because I understand we are human and we can make mistakes at times. Especially if it gets busy or short staffed. Being considerate and aware of that is very important. Overall a good experience. Just need more consistency read more

This review is strictly about customer service! I follow a Low carb way of eating, but still want to enjoy places like Del Taco or other places similar. I walked in and one of the shift managers, I wish I got his full name but it started with a "R" helped me. I asked for nachos without chips or beans and soft tacos without soft tacos. Even though it sounded very odd to him because who goes to a taco place and asks for no tacos! But he was more than accommodating. I was recently at another fast food chain similar to del Taco and the guy kept refusing to take my order this way. This gentleman helped me instead of making me seem crazy! Thank you so much! Well.... just went to this place for the last time. I've been here a handful of times before.... and the guy who is usually working the drive thru, barely speaks English so I have to repeat myself 50 times. We just went there to get my son two bean and cheese burritos and a cheese quesadilla. There was a different guy working the drive they this time. I literally could barely hear him. He also said he couldn't hear me.... and every time I said my order.... he repeated something different back to me. I tried yelling it.... and he still said he couldn't hear me. So my husband yelled it and the guy finally repeated it back correctly. We just got home.... two bean and rice burritos with pepper jack cheese (we ordered to bean and cheddar cheese burritos. No rice was mentioned). And we ordered a cheese quesadilla with extra cheese. We got a cheese quesadilla with basically no cheese on it. ITS NOT THAT HARD. read more

When you go to this Del Taco don't bother reading the menu, just say "random please", seriously just say "give me whatever random order you feel like" because no matter what you order you will get home pull the food out of the bag and get completely random food that you never ordered. Happens every time, without fail, that's the only consistent thing about this place, they will get your order wrong every time, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Edit: Upgrading my review because it seems this Del Taco has hired much better people who get the order right and are generally much more polite. One annoying thing about this place though is they don't take America Express, but many other Del Tacos do, not sure whats up with that. read more

The food is bad the the customer service is bad. Most of the people that work their looks like they are in a bad mood. The managers don't care because they are unprofessional themselves. I love Del Taco but I would avoid this location. Went to grab some food last night and they had a handwritten sign that said "Super Bowl drive thru only". Interesting... Then upon entering the drive thru, I pulled up to the speaker with my friend and we asked if we could make two orders. After this the guy said "no we can't do that". Weird because all other locations have done this in the past. Finally after asking if we could split payment between card and cash in that case, we were told that he would do it for us "this one time" with a horrible attitude. When we arrived at the window, the guy still had a horrible attitude and even forgot my drink and gave US a look like we did something wrong. Avoid this location. The one by UCI and the Barranca one are much better. read more

Come here for lunch with co- workers from our dental office. The Manager Charlie is the most professional and friendliest manager. Even when he is really busy he stops to say hello.. Manager Luis is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I go to their drive thru every day because it is the closest to my house and I always get either the epic steak and potato bacon burrito or the carne asada fries. Wow! What happened to this place?? I've been coming here for almost 20 years. Had the worst experience today. They got the order wrong. Then a rude Asian man came up to the window from behind and yelled at my husband and when my husband reiterated what he had ordered and that they got the order wrong he walked away. The young guy came up to apologize and said he will fix the order. When he went back to get the rest of our order the Asian man yelled at him, and told him not to ask for a raise. Are you kidding me???? We wanted to step up and say something but were truly worried the Asian man might go postal. His behavior was definitely not appropriate for a fast food establishment, and in front of the drive thru window. This is my first review which I felt obligated to write for the sole purpose of warning others of this specific Del Taco location. I would like to state that I do enjoy Del Taco. I even have a special fondness for the fast food chain, since it was one of the few places that my friends and I could visit during high school lunch breaks that gave us enough time to get back without being tardy. That being said...this is THE WORST DEL TACO EVER. I've been here 3 times and each time was progressively worse - with the last time forcing me to write this review and finally giving up on this place forever. Honestly, I tried. I ordered 4 items a Breakfast Roller which wasn't fresh along with a mini bacon quesadilla also not fresh, a breakfast burrito which was actually fresh surprisingly, and a churro which I did not receive. This is a horrible location. I came through here for a simple party pack and specified half chicken and half beef with all soft shell. I was given a bunch of soggy beef tacos with crunchy shells and half soft. No box. What irritates me even more is I verified my order again when I went through the window knowing the intelligence and ability to take a simple order often needs repeating and I still got the wrong thing. The food here sucks. Service sucks. And they don't answer the phone when you call to let them know they screwed up your simple order. I will not return, but it won't matter because I'm sure starving college kids are the only people keeping this location open. read more

I don't get why people expect fast food to be amazing. Its cheap, unauthentic, slimy, gross mexican drive thru food. What do you expect? This place is hilarious. Its probably the only not high tech renovated fast food joint in irvine. Our Taco Bell has Wi-Fi, Our McDonalds looks like a futuristic burger place, and the one Carls Jr. I've been to is pretty nice. This place on the other hand looks like it has been to hell and back. Its old, scratched up, stained, and filled with sketchy looking people. There is always somebody at this Del Taco getting food no matter what time it is. I've driven by there on my way home at various times throughout the night..from 1 am, 2 am, and 5 am, even 6 am, and there's ALWAYS somebody in the drive thru! This is the go to place if you're drunk or high because its cheap, fast, and you can get like 9 tacos for 3 bucks. I think the food is actually decent and I go here all the time. Always satisfies I love this Del Taco because of how funny and ghetto it looks. I hope they don't ever remodel it. read more

This is the only place open late at night/the wee hours of the morning. Everything else is closed fairly early. The dining area inside looks really unkempt and unclean. They need to clean it more. The bathroom is on the outside of the drive-thru and you have to get a staff member to open it for you. Do not use the bathroom while you're here, it's really not worth it. The people working at night in the drive-thru are very nice and they have never gotten an order wrong. They are very generous with the amount of hot sauce. Their classic tacos are the best, IMO. I've never had anything else because it just doesn't look good. read more
