Love this place! My family went here for dinner, service was fast and convenient. The moment I stepped in here I knew things were going the right way. To top it off, my 11 yo daughter wanted another container of ranch (because one is not nearly enough for their dry-ass chicken nuggets (which are mostly bread btw)) and the manager behind the counter wanted to charge her $.65 per extra container. I just dropped almost $60 for 4 people (one of those a kids meal) and you want to charge me for more sauce? Bruuuuuuuhhhhh. Then i went to go ask wtf you make my daughter almost cry for, the manager didnt apologize didnt try to sympathize, just stone faced "that is what everyone has to pay and that its a corporate thing". Just the principle of it makes me never want to go back (you listening, Raising Canes?) Not that it matters too much to me but nobody working there smiled. I felt kindof bad for them. Did not look like they enjoyed it at all. The only smile I got was from the cashier when she learned I was ordering from the screen so she didnt have to take my order. We usually eat at Shake Shack, but wanted to try Habit since we've never been before. We decided on the veggie burger and the charburger. Both were delicious, the charburger meat was tender, but not quite as good as the crisp we like at Shake Shack. The veggie burger was actually better than Shake Shack. The patty had a firmer texture and just had better taste. The pricing was slightly cheaper than Shake shack so it was a better value overall. The inside was comfy, but we couldn't find a clean table, which were not wiped so we had to clean it ourself. One unique thing we noticed was the additional toppings bar, nothing we would put on, but something extra. Service was good. The only other feedback I had was that not everyone cares for alternative music so playing it loud may not suit everyone. I am okay with it, but it does create a certain type of feel that I don't believe is beneficial, especially noticing the diversity of customers. Earlier, I was in another fast casual place and they played more mainstream rock/pop and that usually fades into the background a bit better than obvious alternative genre. Habit Burger & Grill on Culver has been our go to for a long time. Yesterday was a fiasco. My husband waited patiently to get our To-Go order. When he dropped it off both hamburgers were burnt and so were the buns. It felt like a tough bite of nothing. I tried calling the restaurant then was directed to write a complaint online. There was a glitch in the system and it would not submit properly. We have tried to reach out. You definitely need a new cook. Our $38 was wasted. Well tempura green beans and sweet potato fries were our dinner, and the rest went in the trash. It's off to somewhere else we go.. skipping over Habit Burger & Grill until you do better. read more

I went to the Habit on Milpas, in Santa Barbara this evening and could not wait to get home and write this review. When the hell did they start serving such miserable food. We ordered their new Korean Salad and not one item in the salad seemed fresh. The lettuce was wilted and tasted like only the stems were used. Tomatoes were the type you would throw away. Just horrible, horrible, horrible ! Chicken was way over cooked, as is usual for the Habit. Don't even think about trying it ! My Double Charburger tasted like shoe leather. How that could be rated the #1 fast food burger is beyond belief. No wonder In n out is packed with cars. They nickel and dime you for every sauce you may want to have with your meal as well. I enjoy the taste of the burgers here and I like that they have a nice selection of condiments. They recently also added more side options including a tempura green beans which I tried this time as it's slightly healthier than fries lol. The reason they got a lower star rating from me today is the slow service and temperature of food. I ordered from the mobile app for the first time as requested a pickup time since I was on a time crunch for lunch. I arrived a few minutes early to check in and was told to wait for text notification. Turns out they were behind so I got my food 11 minutes after the original pickup time while standing by the counter so I saw my food before the text. Staff: We ordered through the kiosk so there was limited interaction. However they were nice when we picked up our food, and when we left they all said goodbye. Quality/Quantity: The restaurant is spacious, nicely laid out, and clean overall. One of the tables we were going to sit at had a few French fries on the ground. Other than that it was a clean restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious as I've come to expect from the Habit. They've consistently been one of my favorite hamburger places. This is my second review here. Last time I said I wouldn't come back, but I decided to give it one more try. Yesterday on my way home, I stopped by and picked up 2 burgers and fries. After about 15 minutes drive home, I opened the bag and realized they gave me a completely different order, a big sandwich and some fried beans. Even though I was already home, I had to get back in the car and drive all the way back. I checked the bag again, and it clearly had my name with 2 burgers and 1 fries on it. When I got there (after dealing with traffic again), the same guy who looked like a manager was still there. I told him the order was wrong, and he just said, "Oh, we gave you Santa Barbara? Just give me two minutes," and quickly remade it. But honestly, I expected at least a simple apology. I still had to drive all the way back home again, and at that point I was thinking maybe I should've just eaten what they gave me instead of wasting another 30 minutes. I also thought if my order got switched, someone else's order might've been messed up too, but they just threw it away in the trash can. Next time I'll just check everything before leaving. My 3 year old daughter loves Habit burger. Therefore, we come here a lot. Their kids meals include a regular size burger with just ketchup ( can add cheese), fries, a drink, and a gummy burger. They have booster chairs and highchairs. In general, I mostly get the charburger with cheese. I like their buns more than In-N-Out. Also, the interior of Habit is more inviting. I recently tried the Teriyaki char and that was also delicious. Their fries are not as crisp as I would like, but other than that they make a solid burger. They have lots of promotions if you sign up for their Habit email list and download the app. read more

I used to eat at the Habit burger 4-5 times a week and i loved it. At one point they started to charge for every little thing such as sauces or dressing. I still would go every so often but i went tonight and the portion size and quality of food has gotten so bad i decided to delete the app since i wont be going back. Service was quick and standard for fast food, which I appreciated. I tried the double char burger without tomato--no complaints at all. It was a big burger, though definitely on the heavier side (as most fast food burgers are). I got it on a $1 promo deal, so for that price, it was totally worth it. Would I get it again? Probably only if there's another deal like that. The real standouts were the extra crispy fries and the chicken bites with hot pepper sauce, something I'd come back for. I'm usually a fan of this Habit location but when I was picking up my order I noticed they had a some sort of robot/machine at the grill either seasoning, timing, or flipping the meat or all three. I got the chicken sandwich and it was the saltiest and driest chicken I've ever had in my life. The texture was literally like sandpaper. It was small, no flavor with lettuces and 1 slice of tomato First time trying and probably last. 2/5 stars for French Fries. It felt like old fries and did not taste fresh at all. This location always seems to have a line so you have to time it just right to avoid the line. They do have self-service kiosks. I prefer just talking to someone. Also when I did try to order on the app just this weekend, it didn't give me sweet potato fries as an option for some reason. The burgers are good and you can always add cheese. I also like that you can make it protein style and they give you a lot of lettuce. I also really enjoy their sides since they have sweet potato fries, or green beans which you can't get elsewhere.
