The ladies at the counter were helpful answering our menu questions. It was busy for a Thursday morning when we arrived, still some seating left though. Hot Vanilla Latte with 2 shots of espresso. 5/5 Perfectly sweet and strong Hot Zen Matcha half sweet 5/5. Again perfect sweetness with still strong Matcha flavor. Finally checked out this coffee shop a few weeks back and was pleasantly surprised. Got hooked on their hot mocha when I discovered they top it with chocolate whipped cream! Tried the salted caramel frozen drink and found the flavor a little overwhelming, but the mocha frozen drinks people came out with looked delicious. What I really liked here was they offer a kids hot chocolate for $2. The kids love it and you get a break on the price as most small hot chocolates tend to start at $4.95. There's a nice array of baked goods and their chicken sandwich looked rather tasty too. Will be back to try that! It's busy, but there's a decent amount of seating available outside so there's a good chance of getting a seat. There's a good array of choice for everyone so worth a visit. Currently they're renovating, so the toilet was unavailable but hopefully that'll be over soon. read more

Locally run coffee shop in Edgemont Village. Parking is available on all the streets, as well as a certain nearby underground lot. The place is quite modern and hipster, with plenty of wood trim. Almost felt like I was in someone's chalet cabin. There are some booths inside, as well as outdoor seating on the N and E sides. The staff here seem quite cheerful and happy to be there, which is nice and refreshing for a change. Pricing is surprisingly reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised. The Cookie Monster chiller is pretty tasty for those who have a sweet tooth. Basically a chocolate smoothie with whipped cream and Smarties. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area to try their mocha chiller. Recommended. read more

What a great spot, why even bother having a Starbucks less than a block away? Even though there is a Starbucks right down the block, don't miss this epic coffee roaster! The staff was extremely friendly, and the store filled with cheer and warmth, including a happy worker singing to holiday favorites at the top of their lungs (not too shabby either). Their regular coffee is high quality and prepared well with no bitterness at all, and they definitely did not burn the coffee like some other places we may know. They have a great selection of holiday drinks to add to their already great latte list and coffee options. They have a large food selection as well, although we did not partake. I absolutely recommend checking out this great shop while in this cute, quaint little Canadian town! read more

There are more gift stores than food outlets in Edgemont Village, thus Delany's always being a bit busy and cramped. It's perfect for a tiny groups who've been shopping and want to grab coffee. The lattes are excellent and they have a great range of cakes. Today I had a corned beef sandwich. Yummy onions, horseradish and cheese where in the toasted bun. Ordering the sandwich was a little confusing. I think they have lots of regulars who know the drill. Sandwiches are made one direction and coffee the other. It's pick up from the bar for coffee and table service for the sandwich. But they didn't tell me so I awkwardly hovered. read more

I find this coffee shop less than friendly and more cattle based (in/out/done). I don't have to be your best friend but try to add some small town warmth even if it's North van. I visit delaneys only on a rare occasion as I never feel welcome nor does it seem staff want to give you any time of day unless you're about to order something. Coffee is average. read more

Went here to use the washroom before hiking to Grouse mountain. Also got a cappuccino and a brownie. Service was horrible - I asked if the drink in front of me at the ordering till was mine and the lady who took my order (a bit older with brown hair) gave me a death stare and said "no, you ordered a cappuccino" as if I was stupid. Twice now they have microwaved my expensive cinnabun and forgotten it for 15 mins while I stand in front of them. I ask to have it switched so its not nuked forever and dried up, and they gave me the same one anyway. thanks moro* The coffee also tastes watered down or reused type of taste. The hot chocolate is two pumps of sugar and chocolate liquer junk mix so its pricey for little else. Yes, it has chocolate whipped cream but worse hot chocolate than a gas station for a higher price. Try blenz for that specialty. Also, since it opened, I have been a regular and faithful customer, and not once did the owner who has seen me even nodd hello or acknowledge my hello. he is super social with his customers in general whom he knows or wants to know - his circle. Oh Delany's you're the bees knees. They have a delicious selection of tea, great medium roast coffee and ohhhhh the muffins. The low fat oatmeal selection are insanely delicious - Cranberry orange especially and the blackberry pecan mmm.. Haven't tried their sandwiches, beyond a breakfast wrap which i was kind of bummed about. The description said it had beans, peppers, chorizo etc...and it really just had chorizo and eggs. I like eggs, and i like chorizo, but I was excited for the works. Alas..it served its purpose and I was full. The staff and the regulars are why makes the place here though. The staff know everyone by name, and order, and it's just kind of awesome knowing you're going to see the same people lounging out with their dogs having a morning coffee. I've been to the Delany's on Denman a few times, so I knew I preferred their coffee over a number of the other traditional chains. We dropped in after a quick hike through the Cleveland dam area. We ended up getting here at a busy time so there was a bit of a wait and most tables and seats were full. The team were proactive getting orders from guests further down the line which sped things up. We were lucky to find the last table outside. Each of us ordered different coffees and lattes ( drip, pumpkin and oat milk) and different toasted sandwiches/ wraps ( veggie, breakfast and bocconcini/tomato). I ordered an extra sweet: the Baden Powell bar, yum! Each were quickly and well made; and served to us outside. Great visit all around. read more

My family and I keep this Delany's in business. The staff who work here are fantastic, super friendly and get to know you (and your favourite drink order!) by name. The coffee has a superior flavour to the Starbucks brew that can be obtained a few doors down, and the atmosphere is a little more relaxed. I did not give them five stars, however, because the shabby chic decor is erring a little too far on the side of shabby and in need of a renovation, and most of their sandwiches aren't the greatest. Special mentions: order a mocha with whipped cream. Your drink will be topped with chocolate-flavoured whipped cream that you won't find anywhere else! read more

The one star is for how ridiculous they are. The coffee is alright. I like it enough to go to this place in Edgemont, but what is so dumb is that when I get a hot brewed coffee and i ask for a splash of hot milk to go with it, they want to charge $0.80 for the hot splash of milk. It's not like I want a latte and they're supplying the milk anyway! All other coffee shops don't hesitate so this is really silly. I'll just go to Starbucks down the street then. read more

My husband and I have been coming to this location for years! Robin and his staff are "THE BEST". Great service by everyone!! The muffins they sell are delicious and the latte that my hubby gets and the hot chocolate that I order is always perfect (we always ask for "extra-hot" and they get it right every time). Meh, really sums up my feelings on the place. The sign outside specifically calls out desserts as one of their specialties. That is hilarious because their desserts are worse than your average sub-par coffee shop (Waves, Blenz, etc.). The coffee is strictly okay, not great and nowhere close to other gems on the North Shore such as Thomas Haas, Fabourg, Bean Around the World, or Cafe Artigiano. The muffins are decent and they are the reason why it doesn't get a one-star rating. If you are in Edgemont and you want coffee, this isn't a bad option. Otherwise, I would skip it. read more

I've been a long term customer of about 15 years. I dislike the fact that you have taken away the butter and hide it behind the counter. This makes Delaney's look CHEAP. And the butter is cold so it doesn't spread at all. For a coffee place that sells lots of muffins this is very poor. Please change it back to room temperature butter. I can understand in the summer it may be too warm, but in the coming months I would like the butter back in the baskets so that it is at least spreadable. When I mentioned this to the staff one lady told me that someone walked off with the entire basket of butter and that is why they no longer keep it out. This is likely a one-time occurrence and you could keep it at the check-out in plain view of staff. It is not enjoyable to go for a Sunday morning coffee and muffin and then you can't even spread the ice cold butter! Thank you! read more

DON'T COME HERE. Out of all the Delany's I have been to, this is the worst. I can already recall a few time where they don't accept credit or debit, this morning, I was in a hurry and I wanted to get some breakfast. It was only after my order that the staff told me that they only take cash. And the woman who looked like the manager allowed some people to put their name down and come back and pay latter. However, when it was my turn, she refused to let me do it. I was very polite and I was ordering my food like everyone else in the store. Maybe she was racist? Who knows. She also kept pushing me to go to a bank and withdraw some money just to buy a sandwich from them. But it's MORNING and I'm BUSY!! Not gonna waste my time to just buy a fucking sandwich!!! Why couldn't they just put up a sign and avoid all that time wasting???? I used to come here occasionally but now I'm never coming back to this place. read more
