I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that. My daughter's Avocado Toast looked super yummy as well. Might try ordering that next time, although Michelangelo's Mediterranean Spread was also kinda calling out to me!

My iced latte (decaf, almond milk) was great, very smooth. I had a vegan blueberry passionfruit muffin. I was drawn to the muffin in the case because, seeing all the blueberries on top, I had expected a lot of berries distributed throughout too, but it turned out there were no berries inside the muffin at all. Maybe this was an intentional decision to put all the berries on top, but I could not get on board with it, it made the bottom half of the muffin very plain. I liked the vibe of the place and the coffee was great so I'd definitely give it another try, but would be a little careful about my baked good selection next time.

Asparagus & asiago quiche: The quiche itself was okay - I liked the flavour but it kind of had the reheated texture - but they put some fresh arugula and black pepper on top which was very nice. Mocha cookie: Top tier cookie. Nice coffee flavour, not too sweet, perfectly crispy but not crunchy. Lychee latte: Just steamed milk and lychee flavour, no espresso. I asked for half sweet, and there was just enough lychee flavour to get the essence of lychee without making it a very sweet drink. Although I didn't try the coffee, this does seem like a good place for coffee nerds. They have different varieties of brewed coffee you can try in store and beans for sale.

The lady behind the counter was super nice. Friendly. Conversational. Really easy to talk too. They carry several cheesecakes, evidently tiramasu is their best selling, but I went with a raspberry white chocalate one, and it was one of the best cheesecakes I'd ever had. It was light and creamy, but still dense. Wasent overly sweet or tart. Large chunks of white chocalate. It was really good!! Paired with the coffee and it was just heavenly. Multiple tables too, to enjoy a nice cup of coffee while reading or working or just watching people walk by on Davies. I've also experienced that the matcha latte at the UBC JJ Bean usually isn't prepared properly (as of probably 2022 which is the last time I got matcha there) and figured it was just a location thing but now I'm wondering if it's just something about the franchise.
