In addition, what really stands out and is worthy of comment for this practice is the professionalism and enthusiasm of his staff- not to mention Dr. Altman being just one heck of a nice guy. The woman who answered was very rude, told me I was calling the wrong office and when I probed she hastily explained that there were two offices on Main St Buffalo and I was looking for the Amherst location since "my" location had moved there. When I had to interrupt her before she hung up I asked could I be seen there, she frustratingly asked what was my insurance. I then said never mind I will go elsewhere since I didn't appreciate the way she was speaking to me. She immediately hung up on me. Unfortunately I did not get her name and I am well aware this is a big operation and don't even know who "Dr Bob" is but I am so tired of rude customer service.

I had to cancel an appointment due to an unexpected medical issue and called the office immediately to reschedule. Instead of showing any understanding, I was told I would be charged a $145 cancellation fee -- even after offering to provide a doctor's note confirming the medical situation. The office refused to accept it and said I could not reschedule unless I paid the fee. When I reviewed the financial agreement, it only listed a range of possible fees -- it did not state that the charge was mandatory or specify exact amounts for missed appointments. When I asked for additional documentation or written policy to support their decision, I was told none existed. For a healthcare provider, I find this lack of compassion, flexibility, and transparency very disappointing. Medical issues are often unpredictable, and I expected a much more understanding and professional approach from a dental office. Unfortunately, this experience showed otherwise.

Keeping my pearly whites pearly white! Dr. Walker and his staff are amazing. They are very…read moretransparent about any work that needs to be done and answer questions with infinite amounts of patience. They are very good about keeping on schedule. I'm usually seen within 5-10 minutes of arriving and if they say a procedure will take a certain amount of time, they have me out of there in that amount of time or less. If I have an appointment, I expect to be seen within a reasonable amount of time. I hate waiting! Plus, this allows me to go during my lunch hour and get back to the office with time to spare. They're great at the chit-chat/small talk Buffalo folks are known for and are super friendly. Additionally, I get to watch TV while they work on my teeth! Dr. Walker also treats children and has children's movies and stickers for them. I hate going to the dentist but Dr. Walker and staff have made it such a pleasant experience that I actually look forward to it now. The horror.

TLDR - Dentists and Hygienists are great, the receptionist is not (don't go in early even if they…read moretext you requesting you to come in because you'll end up wasting that time in the waiting room)! I have been going to this place for the last 4 years and honestly, this is the first time I have had any issue with them. The blame goes to the receptionist because the dentists and the hygienists are actually very nice and considerate. The receptionist on the other hand, has no regard for people's time, is rude and does not own a mistake when she makes one. I had my appointment at 3 pm today. I get a message around 1:50 pm that my hygienist is free early and asking if I could come in sooner. I check my work schedule, talk to my boss and decide to go early to accommodate THEIR request. I text back saying I can be there by 2:40 pm and they reply saying OK. I get there and am asked to be seated. It is now 3 pm and I am upset that I had to get permission to leave early just to sit in the waiting area. I ask the receptionist what the point of asking me to come early was and she goes in to inquire. Apparently, even though they knew I was coming early, they gave another patient to my hygienist right before I arrived. I am not attended to until 3:10 pm so essentially I came in early for no reason. The hygienist was polite and apologized even though it is not her fault to be assigned a patient while waiting for me. On the other hand, the receptionist is extremely rude to me, does not apologize once and when I point out that they shouldn't have texted me when they weren't ready for me, all she says is "that was not our intention". Well, clearly it was because you CHOSE to assign another patient to my hygienist while knowing that I am on my way coming in early at your request. I am away from my work desk a lot more than I needed to be because of her and she takes no accountability. If the management sees this, I hope they talk to the lady at the reception so she doesn't treat anyone this way in the future.
