It had been quite a while since I had last seen a dentist, let's just say that. I had noticed two different gray/dark areas on two of my lower teeth and was concerned about the little gap I could feel where the bottom of the tooth ended and where the gums began. First appointment was just an initial check-up and cleaning. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I was a bit nervous about my next appointment though, where the doc would get rid of that decay and fill it over. Never had a cavity in my life, now I'm 43 and it's all coming apart!! I went in for the fillings and wow, let me tell you - #1, I didn't even feel pain from the lidocaine injections given to numb you all up for the actual procedure. Just a bit of pressure. #2, I felt absolutely nothing during the actual removal work. And no, half my face wasn't out of commission nor did I drool or speak very incoherently lol. I do not have insurance, so I was pleasantly surprised by their prices. 10/10 will return as long as I live in this area!! NOT RELATED TO THE PLACE OF BUSINESS, JUST AN OBSERVATION FOR PEOPLE WITH NERVOUS HABITS---- However, I will warn any people with nervous habits that involve chewing or biting on your lips: the total numbness is going to cause you blisters the next day. I noticed myself doing it soon after the appointment and thought "OKAY you're going to have to stop doing that..." but alas, by the next day I had a weird looking sore on my lip where I bite it, pretty subconsciously, until now. I have been coming to this dental office for eight years. when I went to have my last cleaning I found out they no longer took either of my insurances. so I have paid dental insurance to two carriers and now have to pay the full bill for my last cleaning. a responsible dental office should have informed me prior to my visit they no longer took either of my insurance providers. someone should have called me to let me know they no longer took my insurance. read more

I came to Allentown after having had a bad experience with a dentist who tried to get me to pay for unnecessary scans instead of doing the treatment. Dr Korn did a consult with an x-ray and treated me immediately with excellent results. She has a really nice bedside manner and is not judgemntal. I had a really disappointing experience at this practice (With Dr Elana Korn) and wasted a lot of unnecessary time. Had I read their other reviews I wouldn't have gone there. I was looking for a new dentist and made a new patient appointment plus cleaning on 8/9/21. The office looked grungy and outdated but the girl that did my cleaning was phenomenal, so against my better judgement I decided to give them an opportunity to earn my business. After my new patient appointment they recommended two fillings. I requested them to be on the same day but they told me they'd rather spread them apart. So we made two back to back appointments, one on 9/14 at 1 pm and one the following day on 9/15 at 8:30 am. When I came to the office for my appointment on 9/14 the doctor did one filling and although we hadn't planned this in advance, also removed two permanent retainers for me that I had from previous ortho work and I was there for about 2 hours. I was feeling a lot of discomfort so after the work had been done I stopped at the receptionist desk for an additional 10-15 minutes to cancel my appointment for the following day, I also had them check the cost of ordering me removable retainers and also scheduled a new patient appointment for my boyfriend and scheduled another cleaning for myself for 12/22/21 at 7 am because my insurance doesn't require them to be 6 months apart and I receive compensation from my employer if I have both done in a calendar year. I told them I'd call back to schedule the second filling later. When I went home that day I was feeling so much pain at the site of the filling that I called into work the following day. The pain persisted about an entire week (which is something I've never experienced with fillings before) and to this day the site of the filling feels higher than the rest of my teeth and food gets stuck in it and it's sensitive to cold. A few days before my 12/22 cleaning appointment I got an ambiguous bill in the mail from them without any details for $111 that was marked 60 days late! I figured I'd discuss it with them when I showed up for my cleaning and also talk about all my issues with that previous filling. When I got there at 7 am for my cleaning, before I could talk about any of this, they asked if I got their voicemail about my cleaning appointment today because they were wondering why it was scheduled 4 months from the first one? I should've known this was a bad sign since they didn't remember what we discussed last time. I checked my phone and noticed they had called me 6 minutes before their closing the day before, for a 7 am appointment today! So I explained it to them again. Then I asked if they could tell me what the bill was for because there weren't any details on it. I was told that $61 was for the filling they had done last time and $50 was a no show fee from 9/15! I explained to them that the 9/15 appointment was canceled in their office. I was actually talking to the same lady who had helped me cancel it and schedule a new appointment for my boyfriend and another cleaning for myself but she didn't remember me (Older lady with short blond hair). A very rude younger lady in the background kept interjecting and arguing with me. She said she checked with the Dr. and I had verbally confirmed with her that I'd be coming back the following day on 9/15, while she was performing my filling! Can people actually talk while work is being performed on their teeth? Obviously this never happened nor could have happened and is also irrelevant because I canceled the appointment before I left their office on 8/9/21. Anyways I paid them the fee because I don't want to ruin my credit score but told them I'd never go there again. I drove all the way from Grand Island for this. A major waste of time and money. They extracted 50 frivolous dollars from me and also cost me the $100 I won't be getting from my employer because there's no time to be seen by another place by the end of the year. And now I need to figure out what's wrong with the filling they did in September. They chose to lose two customers but not stand behind their own mistake. read more

Finding this place through Yelp, I was looking for a place to get a teeth cleaning. Come the day of my appointment, I noticed they had their own parking lot which was nice around this part of town where parking can be difficult. It was a little challenging to find the suite where the office is in, but it's on the "third" floor (or second, since they count the first floor as the ground floor). Coming in, the receptionist was really nice and gave me some standard forms to fill out. After filling out the forms, I only had to wait about five minutes before the dental assistant started her cleaning. Her name was Kate and she did a great job and was very friendly. First, she asked me to take x-rays, but I wanted to confirm that my insurance would cover that first so she went ahead and went on their web site to confirm before proceeding. After the cleaning, the doctor came out (Dr. Weisman) and spent about twenty minutes just getting to know me. It was a really nice touch! LOVED this dentist and am excited to come back in six months for another cleaning! read more

Had some not-so-great experiences with a dentist down the street, so was on the lookout for a new dentist in the area. Am very glad I made the switch to Allentown Dental. The space itself isn't anything to write home about, but the staff is just wonderful. Dr. David did my exam and was extremely personable; he also didn't try and upsell me on anything, which was the issue with my previous dentist. The hygienist was also WONDERFUL. I wish I remembered her name; she was so sweet and extremely thorough - I felt really comfortable with her in my mouth for 30+ minutes :) Overall great experience. I had been going to this office for years but when the dentist retired & sold the practice to Dr Korn I was no longer comfortable. I found another dentist that I am very pleased with. Imagine my surprise receiving a bill for more than $300 with no explanation last week. I had not been in the office in more than 18 months & always paid my bill right away. I called the office & did not receive any reasonable explanation for why this bill was sent after such a long delay. I paid it under protest because I do not think anyone should be able to send bills after such a delay. I didn't keep all the records & forgot all the details of what was done by this office. When I asked about pricing for an exam, I was asked don't you have insurance. When I said yes, the response was, I don't think we're a good fit. Keep searching I'm sure you'll find someone else. Talk about a pretentious way to drive new business away. I had sent an email to their office about a day prior and they did not respond or acknowledge receipt. In addition, in perhaps the least appealing fashion, I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be eligible for a hygenist appointment for another six months because their schedule was packed. So they had time to come get me in for a big dollar dental exam and tooth extraction but not for a simple cheap tooth cleaning. Fantastic! It sounds weird to be a fan of your dentist, but I'm a HUGE fan of my dentist! I was previously going to another dentist in Allentown, and got suspicious when they kept telling me I had cavities (even though I brush and floss religiously). I went to Allentown Dental for a second opinion, and the dentists (the Weinmans) there were great. They identified one cavity on my first visit, but haven't found anything since. I'd recommend them for anyone who likes conservative dentists. These are not the kind of people who are going to go in your mouth and suggest that you start pulling all your teeth or filling phantom cavities. It's possible, of course, that my old dentist was right and I do have more cavities. But I'm willing to test my luck and stay with these guys. They spent a lot of time listening to my concerns, and even explained what they thought the other dentist may have seen, and why the other dentist may have thought certain things were cavities. read more

Allentown Dental is the absolute best at what they do. Very honest work not trying to "sell" you on treatment plan that have high costs. Very conservative treatment with great results. Office staff is wonderful...up to the minute on all appointments, emergencies, insurance questions. Kate does a wonderful job when she cleans your teeth and offers advice if she feels it necessary. Dr. David and Dr. Mindy are so warm and caring..almost makes us feel like family. Since I seem to have unusual dental problems they have gone out of their way to help preserve my teeth. They are always available for a phone call. The addition of Dr. Korn is also an asset. She brings with her fresh enthusiasm towards her new patients. I highly recommend this practice...even if you don't live in the Allentown area. It is absolutely worth the trip!! read more

The practice being bought out by another Dentist was the worse decision EVER. I had been an over 10 year customer of twice yearly cleanings and basic x-rays. My hygienist Lauren is the best, but unfortunately the front desk clerk De'Anna has the worst customer service ethic, speaks to patients rudely and dismissively, and is rude and condescending to the customers. on 7/26/22 After requesting an itemized bill of an unpaid bill apparently from 2021 she couldn't understand why that after two previous visits in late 2021 and early 2022 why I was questioning such an outdated bill that insurance should have covered. When I went into the cubicle with my hygienist and as I was being placed in the chair with the smock covering me, she barged into the area and started yelling at me when I asked twice for her to not engage with me she continued. When I had enough I left without service vowing to never return as long as she was there, then in todays mail I received a letter stating maybe I should choose another dentist lol. Sad to see the dentist and the hygienist and the practice will lose such a no fuss patient with great insurance because of the twisted narrative probably told by the desk clerk, but they will quickly learn because left unchecked she will run away all of the patients and pretty soon they will have to close the practice. read more

I've been to a few dentists in the past two years and couldn't find one I liked - from painful cleanings, to cleanings that aren't thorough, and it seems like I've finally found a good place. The cleaning lasted about 40 minutes and was gentle yet very deep cleaning. They gave me a lot of advice based on my particular situations and seemed to be very detailed in ensuring that the patient was well-informed. Everyone was very nice, my only suggestion would be to have a sign in the lobby directing new patients to the second floor. read more
