I had an experience that was similar to the original poster. The salesman never showed up for a scheduled estimate. After that, he only wanted to reschedule at his convenience. Despite having set a new time, he called at the last minute on another date, and came to my home while my wife was preparing to go to work. This guy also had a bad habit of calling early in the morning such as today's call at 7:45 a.m., waking my wife who had worked late the night before. The sales guy didn't bother telling the workers what needed to be done at my home. It was a job requiring two crews, and they were extremely confused about what was needed. In fact, the lead worker told me told me he would be putting newspaper into my wall, not insulation. I couldn't believe what he was telling me, but he repeated it twice more. I had to cancel this portion of the work because that's not what my contract called for... nor is it safe. A real fire hazard. It was only hours later after the entire job completely fell apart (see below) that I discovered through research that by "newspaper", the worker meant chopped up newspaper treated with borate and cellulose, which is fire resistant. Would have been nice if someone at Delfino had educated the workers a bit more, or for that matter if the salesman had explained this to me. I called to speak to the owner, but was put in touch with an area manager named Dave. Clearly the salesperson's behavior throughout this process was a bit knuckleheaded, and not the best representation of the company. When I stated this to Dave, he yelled at me. I calmly and politely told him that I would not be speaking with him like that, and thanked him for his call. He retaliated by pulling another set of workers off the job. When I called Dave again to find out what was going on, he screamed at me, talked over me, and raged that he doesn't "need to deal with this s&!+ for a $300 job." It wasn't a $300 job, it was a lot more... and it was repeat business. As the original poster stated, the owner of this company clearly thinks the customer needs him more than he needs us. Needless to say, it's the last time I'll ever go to Delfino Insulation or any of its other branches on Long Island. read more

If the experience I had today with one of their workers is any way a reflection of the company then I would avoid them completely. I was one of dozens of cars that were stuck behind this driver for miles, he was in the left land purposely driving exactly the same speed as the truck next to him. It was obviously intentional because anytime the truck in the right lane would speed up or slow down their worker did exactly the same thing. This was on a road where signs clearly state that slow traffic should stay right, not to mention that the left lane is the passing lane anyway. Traffic was backed up as far as we could see, people were sitting on their horns yet the driver refused to do anything. The car in the right lane tried to move a few times and this company refused to let him by matching his speed every time. If this company treats their customers in any way like they treat the general public, while they have their company info clearly on the truck, I wouldn't trust them. And after reading the other reviews I think my deduction is correct. read more

A company's sales rep is the first indicator whether the company is good or bad. I wanted to have someone come and quote having my attic insulated. The first appointment was slated for 8 a.m. Friday Nov.4th. At 8:30 I called their Nassau County rep to see if he was coming. He told me that due do a sudden death in the family he'd have to reschedule. We agreed to 8 a.m. on Friday Nov. 11th. At 8:17 I called to find his whereabouts. He said that traffic was heavy that morning and that he just left their Calverton location. Calverton is at least 45 minutes from my home in Nassau County. He said he couldn't be blamed for heavier than normal traffic. What I couldn't get across was he didn't leave himself enough time, if had to first stop in Calverton, to get to my home by 8 a.m.! He asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said absolutely not. Clearly he had no respect for my time and this shown poorly on the way Delfino handles their prospects. read more

I had the complete opposite experience of the other reviewer. I called the main office in the morning and by the afternoon the salesman called me we went over the job. He gave me a price and I had a written proposal within the week. About a week before we were scheduled to perform the work I had to reschedule due to my basement not being ready for the insulation. They were terrific and changed the date for me. Well, yesterday they came and actually performed the job. The 2 guys that came were very nice and professional. I have to tell you, they did an outstanding job! They sprayed the walls in places I didn't think they were going to be able to access. They made it work and got the job done. I am extremely satisfied with this company and would highly recommend them to friends and family. read more

I had called to get an estimate for attic insulation. The representative said they can come Friday between 2-3pm, being that we work this dod not fit our schedule. I was told that he didn't know what he could do for us since this is the time that they come. The representative was super rude and uninterested in trying to find another time. Happy this happened early on in the process so I can take my business elsewhere where someone would be happy to set a date and time that works. read more

I cant speak about the quality of their work because I never hired them, but they started out by standing me up for my initial estimate. Salesperson never called to cancel and screened my calls all afternoon every time i called or text. When I finally got in touch with them days later they lied to me about why they never showed (I'll spare you the details). I finally was able to get them over (why I tried again I dont know) and their estimate took forever to come and was not for the type of insulation I requested. Dont waste your time with them. A friend of mine hired them, dealt with the same song and dance, and they only made attempts to reach him once money was due. They're are the type of company that believes you need them more than they need you which isn't the case because they're providing unskilled work. I'm not handy and I wound up insulating my attics myself and saved a lot. read more
