I just realized that more than a year after I had my insulation done by Econo-therm, I hadn't posted a review. I had used them once before for my house in Queens many years ago. Very professional. I called the owner to inquire about an insulation job with my brick home. The owner is very knowledgeable and advised me that based on the construction of my home, it is not suitable for insulation without ripping the walls apart and do from scratch. He proceeded to give me suggestions on how I can add some thermal value to my home and offer to speak to me again if I have any other questions. Louis came to give me an estimate. Let me first start off by saying 1) he was on time. Lateness is a big pet peeve of mine. 2) it was a rainy day and when he came into my house he came prepared with booties so his wet boots did not destroy my house. 3) He was very knowledgeable as to what insulation would work best for the different areas of my house. The guys that came to do my job were on time, were all very courteous, worked neat and did a job that far exceeded my expectations. Much better than what I would have done myself. They even helped move around items in my attic since I could not due to my broken arm. Econo-therm performed the free New York Home Performance with Energy Star Audit, applied blown in insulation to the attic, and closed all air leaks in the attic, garage wall (found problem) and crawl space. Then Ecotherm performed another audit to verify the results. The whole experience went very well. I actually chose Econo-therm based on the materials that they used and the professionalism of the audit staff. The Econo-therm Staff showed up on time, applied all the insulation and waited for the after insulation audit in case any leaks were found. Not only did the house show a 20% improvement, the how was 50% more air tight after their work. That means the actual savings in heating will be more then was proposed. Econo Therm came out to Insulate my Flat Roof in Astoria. They are busy so getting an appointment as fast as I was able to before winter set in was fantastic news to begin with. The Crew were all very professional and very efficient. They were able to gain access to my roof, create the holes they needed and fill the crawl space with enough insulation to properly insulate my home. When the crew was finished they cleaned up and properly covered the Holes with Mushroom caps to properly ventilate the space. We felt the difference immediately and have saved since saved on energy costs. The cost was reasonable and worth every penny spent.
