First hired them to pull and get rid of all the tall grass and weeds after all the rain we have had. Second, we pulled down an old fence and had a very complex vine system that I was not ready to tackle. Julio and his team came the very next day and WOW! The work they did to clear it out and the care they took to get the root system out was fantastic. Fairly priced for the hard labor of the the jobs we hired them for. I received multiple quotes for a backyard concrete project and ultimately went with Delgados Landscape because their price was a bit lower. While the team members are very nice people who truly work hard to get the job done, I unfortunately felt that their concrete work did not meet my expectations. On the first day of prep work, the crew cleared the soil but left a large pile of sand blocking my driveway before leaving and asking for a $500 deposit. The next morning, they returned with a larger crew and mixed the concrete right in front of my house. Unfortunately, concrete splashed around, leaving a significant mess in my front yard that was not cleaned up after the job was finished. Additionally, the leveling is uneven in several areas. Instead of sloping toward the drain, water pools and sits on the surface. While I appreciate their work ethic and friendly attitude, concrete does not seem to be their specialty. I would give them a 2.5-star rating for this project. read more

We hired this company to do a major cleanup of our small backyard and front porch, which was very overgrown with plants, weeds and cactus. Pros: fast response time, good communication, showed up early, hauled away plants and debris, good equipment, respectful Cons: lack of attention to detail. One example, potted plants on our front porch were not moved to be cleaned around/behind leaving a lot of dirt, rocks and leaves still present. Also, our plants were left pretty hacked, without consideration for aesthetics. Towards the end of the job they seemed rushed to leave and not as receptive to my requests. I am having to do a lot of work on my own to bring our yard to the level of what we expected from their crew, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place by hiring someone. I appreciate the work they were able to do, working with cactus is not pleasant, but it fell short of my expectations, especially for the price we paid. Need to post an updated review. They did our front yard for us and we were haply with the work so we asked them to give us a quote for our backyard which we wanted to do something similar and do a drought tolerant back yard. At first it started okay we got a quote for $8,500 for labor & materials. However, we wanted a different color for the stepping stones and so the cost went up to $12,000. They said this was because the steps we wanted came to $8,000 alone. We agreed and so we went to the place where they were going to get the stepping stones from just to check the color and found out that the cost for them will only be $5,000. I went back to them with this and they said their price won't change even the though the steps cost $3,000 lest than what they told me at first. After a couple weeks of going back and forth (with very little response from them, have plenty of screenshots to prove this) we agreed at $11,000. They came out yesterday so we can confirm all the work to be done and they were to start work this coming Wednesday. About an hour later they said they thought I wanted the grey stepping stones not the white ones. But we clearly said white in our meeting and I even gave them the paper with item # from the place where they were going to get them. I texted them and tried to reach them for the rest of Saturday but got no response from them. Come Sunday morning I was pretty over all of this so I told them fine let's do the $12,000 but now they tell me they can't even do $12,000 and have to raise their price to $18,000 now because they won't be making any money and have to pay their workers out of pocket. Extremely unprofessional from them with severe lack of communication. Like how do you agree to a price to do a job and a day later say oh sorry our mistake we did the numbers wrong and now re did them. They kept telling me $12k was their final number for weeks and weeks. And the day we agree they raise it another $6,000, how ridiculous! Feels like they just kept wanted to get more and more money as we went along. Only reason why I'm leaving 2 stars up and not going down to 1 is because they did good work on our front yard. This is my honest review, and I'm sorry to post a negative one, but it's all true unfortunately. Jose was my gardener at my duplex for a little over 2 years. I found him on Yelp. The Pros: Did cut the grass and kept the jasmine along the fence in the driveway cut back ok (sometimes got overly bushy). The Cons: He did not maintain the drip system that fed water to 2 planters. As a result, most of the beautiful plants in the first planter died and weeds sprouted. The rosebushes in the second planter were practically dead also. My bad for not visiting the property more often and checking on that. My olive tree in one of the planters was supposed to be trimmed regularly enough to maintain the lovely shape and keep the size small. I checked it a few days ago and the tree branches (judging from their thickness) had not been trimmed for a long time and had suddenly been chopped off, and my poor tree looks like it got a butcher job. I feel that I was ripped off, not entirely, but quite a bit. Maybe because I'm a woman and we get taken advantage of when it comes to certain jobs. I let Jose go and discovered that my go-to handyman does gardening too and gave the account to him. So it's all good. read more

I cannot say enough about how unprofessional this group is. They came and quoted a job of removing a large number of plants from the side of my house, doing a standard mow, adding sod, and replanting a new tree that was installed incorrectly by the prior gardener. Instead of removing the plants on the side they merely trimmed them. They never installed the sod, and never replanted the tree. They stopped showing up for weeks saying they were too busy and letting my lawn grow terribly high. I complained that the sod was never installed, the tree never replanted and my lawn not serviced. They showed up a few days later but never installed the sod or replanted the tree. They never showed up again and have refused to answer my text messages and phone calls. I've been polite throughout and just think this group is an incredibly unprofessional team that treats people extremely poorly. Worked with Jose and his team for about one year for regular gardening and some landscaping. They did okay work at first, but then started not showing up for weeks without notice, blamed me for things they got wrong, and really messed up a $1,200 yard trimming and refresh. He kept claiming everything was fine, which it definitely was not. As many others have said, these guys are really unprofessional and unreliable. Jose lies about everything. He promised to maintain my landscaping and as soon as I paid him he changed his tune. I did pay him in full and now he's lying saying I didn't. The sod he installed was infested with flies and he immediately said he was not responsible for it. I had to threaten him with a negative review for him to take care of the problem. He promised to maintain the sprinklers he installed and my landscaping is riddled with weeds because me did not take the necessary steps to treat the soil prior to installing landscaping. However, it's obvious, this guy doesn't know a thing about good customer service, being courteous and respectful of others time. He stood me up not once - TWICE! The first time, he just didn't show up, nor did he bother to let me know what was going on. Thirty minutes later, I texted him and he claimed his truck broke down. Being understanding because life happens, we scheduled a second appointment for an estimate and he stood me up again. No call - nothing. This is not the way to do business, or he simply doesn't need the business. Regardless, being respectful and courteous is doing the right thing.
