This place is in a strip on Blairs Ferry Rd. The restaurant cannot be mort than 4 years old. I had lunch here with some indian food specials. The place was neatly decorated in an Indan decor. The food was really good. The service as also well done. I would not mind trying some more things in the menu. I will just say this! I wish the bathroom was a litter cleaner. And i feel the whole place could look very sharp with a little more cleaning detail. I would consider this kind os a faster food opton for lunch. It was good! read more

Good place for lunch with cute decore. My friend got the Chicken Indian Street Tacos. I got the Chana Masala and Garlic Naan. We were both happy with our orders. The waitress warned me the Chana Masala starts at a 3 for heat. It was definitely packing some heat, but I loved the flavor and would order it again. The Garlic Naan was softer than other places in town and I liked it. Cost: The lunch special is about $1.50 cheaper than the dinner options. Wait Staff: The wait staff is one of the best I have had recently. You also have the option to order and then pay directly from your table if you are in a rush or they are busy. read more

I love to try new places, and I'm really starting to enjoy Indian food do this was a must try. I stopped by for carry out and thevstaff was very accommodating. The venue is bright, open and clean the staff was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the chicken curry, mild. When I got home I was very happy with the curry. It tasted so fresh, like it was quality ingredients and not just warmed up. The curry was a tad spicy for mt taste even though I ordered mild. One downside was that it wasn't a huge order, more than enough for me, but some might want a larger portion and you had to order Naan separately. I thought for the price, it should have come with Naan. I'll definitely try it again, but try a different dish. read more

Let's start with the positive: the food tasted very good and the interior is nicely decorated. Now, for the negatives that, in my opinion, outweighed the positives... We arrived on a weeknight at dinner time to a mostly empty restaurant. Only a few booths were taken up by guests so we had our choice for seating and chose a booth in the main area to make it easy for the two servers to have everyone in the same section. We were greeted and given menus about ten minutes after sitting. That is also when the server told us to remove my one-year-old's shoes because she was standing in the booth and that "makes it hard to clean." Mind you, she is a toddler and did not have muddy or dirty shoes. I found this a little annoying and nit-picky... but thought "whatever, I'm sure she was told to say this by uptight management." We looked through the menu and were intrigued by the platter that came with a sampling of dishes and noticed there was a nearly $4 "sharing fee." When our server returned with our waters, we asked her what the fee was for. Would we get slightly bigger portions? Would we get an extra drink since the platter only came with one when ordered for a single person? No. There is nothing more that you receive if you order it for sharing... my question is, what am I paying $4 for? Am I paying you to use a plate? I don't get it. Still, we order the platter because it seemed like a good way to taste a few different dishes. We also ordered a curry buttered noodle dish from the kids menu and were given the option to add chicken, which we did. We waited MORE THAN AN HOUR for food. The dinning room was filling up with guests that got there after us and they were all getting their meals before us. When the meal finally arrived, some of the dishes in the platter were room temp or outright cold. The kids noodles were bland while the chicken that came along with it was spicier than the adult dishes, which we were given the option for spice level and chose level 2 on all of them! I know, I know, we are eating at an Indian restaurant and I shouldn't assume that the chicken was not going to have spice... but why were we given the option for every other dish and not the kids meal if we weren't supposed to assume it had minimal spice? Overall, this was such a frustrating experience that I don't think we'll try Delhicacy again. The food was yummy, but so is the food at other Indian restaurants around town, and they aren't trying to nickel and dime you at every turn. read more

We went to dinner before catching a movie at the nearby theaters. This was our first dine in experience. The decor is tastefully done, The premises are very clean and the staff is efficient. There was no overwhelming smell of food, oil, spices. We ordered the street style tacos, Gobi manchurian and Tangri chicken with ghee roti. Portions were generous. The chicken curry was the best dish, The other items were above average. We did not have any room for desert. Food: By far the best Indian cuisine in the Cedar Rapids Area. We tried the Thaali platter and shared it among the 2 of us. The portions were filling and taste was phenomenal. Service: Excellent. Ambiance: They have designed the place with plenty of Indian decor. Many of the booths have been named after the cities in India - Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai etc. Will definitely return! read more

Finally I had the time to get over here. First, the interior was a huge surprise. A definite upgrade from what it used to look like. Very welcoming and cozy. Very clean. Second, staff was very helpful and friendly. I didn't wait very long for my appetizer/ entree. Finally, my food was amazing. I wasn't in the mood to try something new and went with my usual butter chicken and garlic naan. Delicious! Checking over the menu you'll see a lot of your standard favorites and some new dishes as well. I will definitely be going back. Very good Indian food, I'd go back. The tikka masala was very good. We also had the street tacos, flatbread, and fried rice. There wasn't anything I wouldn't eat again. My wife loved the street tacos. There is some heat to many of the dishes so keep that in mind when you order if you don't like spicy food. read more

This place has a fantastic vibe! I love the seating, service has always been very good, but smaller portions of things to try would be preferred so you don't get just one thing and hope you like it/it isn't too spicy. Trying to expose friends and myself to new foods and local business, I have brought in 3 "new" people! Either they have not had Indian food or not tried Delhicacy before. They've ALL enjoyed it, but are "scared to go back on their own" as they relied on what I knew to order - and that isn't much!!! I would like to bring people that can teach me more but only know people who live out of town that are like that! (Hey- maybe they could have a "tasting night" once a quarter so my friends and I can learn more!) I have yet to get to a buffet event, which I love because you get to try more options than I would likely pick on my own. I need to prioritize this! But I'd still like to be educated about what I'm trying. It's very hard to try something new. Maybe they can introduce combo plates? or "flights" of somethings so I can try more of the menu and expand my knowledge! (I had a really spicy eggplant dish one time... flavor was good, but it was my whole entree and even ordering it as a "low spice", I couldn't eat it all without taking it home and adding more eggplant, some yogurt, and more rice to moderate the spices - yes, I'm a spice weenie! - but I want to keep trying more of their great food!) Disappointed in the overall taste of a couple dishes I ordered and in the texture of the chicken within them. Have had good indian food in the past and this just didn't meet those expectations. The crunchy, fibrous texture of the chicken was a big turnoff, and I know it is sometimes uncontrollable presently due to supply chains but it is still gross. Will most likely try this place again in hopes of a better experience. read more

I had driven by Delhicacy a bunch of times waiting for it to open, because I was so excited to try it, and it was worth the wait! I ordered a very basic item since this was my first visit, paneer in butter masala. It was fantastic! I definitely plan to come back and try some more adventerous items. As far as the non-food stuff goes, I thought the servers were very nice. They were also very attentive. The atmosphere was nice. It seemed to be a little more modern than the other Indian places in town. I should also add that Delhicacy is a sit down restaurant. That may seem like an odd thing to mention, since none of the Indian places in town are QSRs, but I expected this place to be a QSR, because it took over the location that was Fuzzy's. read more

Omg. Delhicacy is my new favorite Indian restaurant. The price points for the portion size are great and the spice levels are fantastic. The food came packaged properly in my bag and was so organized!!! It was also still warm when I received it from my DoorDasher. I am tempted to go back every night it's that delicious. Ordered chili-paneer through doordash and received chili-chicken instead. Receipt shows that the paneer was ordered. As I don't eat chicken, this means I'm not able to eat the meal. Doordash only refunded $5.75 of the $18.75 paid. Cautiously order from here using delivery services and check your orders when picking up. read more

This restaurant is a sham because the Indian food is absolutely crap. The paav Bhaji it seems was made with garam masala because it was nowhere near what paav Bhaji tastes like. The wada in wada paav had too much besan. For American customers you have been fooled. read more

We have been here multiple times. They offer adventures in indian food. It is a fusion of Indian dishes with other cultures such as an indian food packed paneer taco. We keep coming back for more! It is a decent, honest, clean business. Food is great. Ask for mildest if you cannot handle spice, even mildest is respectfully spiced. They are detail oriented and will be very careful of your dietary restrictions. We also used to love their food when they were located at newbo, and followed them to new location. I've been here a couple times and have never had an issue. Staff in the past have been very helpful, and food has been good. Came in today at 8pm and not full at all. Only 2 families were eating. There were about 5 tables that weren't even cleaned yet. The food was good once we got it (only husband ordered) but then tried ordering a naan bread at 8:25pm which was right after they brought out his food. But they said they spilled some oil therefore they closed the kitchen. We were a bit confused as to why that would be a reason to close the kitchen and it didn't look like they were cleaning a spill. But then shortly after they began cleaning the tables and vacuuming while my husband was still eating. Mind you, this was at 8:30. We were the only ones by this time and we just got the vibe that they all wanted to get out early. We left close to 8:45 and passed by the restaurant at 8:50 and sure enough they had closed. It definitely didn't feel very welcoming nor do we think we'd return unfortunately. read more

The food was great, but they didn't let my family and I order off the lunch menu. They made us pay for dinner when we were obviously eating lunch (the time we ate was 1pm). They also close in between lunch and dinner, which made no sense to because we were during the lunch time. Besides that, the food was great, and the portions weren't small either. read more

Delicious curry (and more), I would definitely recommend the poutine chaat for an appetizer. I like that you get to choose how spicy you want your food to be with their wide range of spiciness, I've been there multiple times and I get the medium spice each time. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. This was my first time here and I had the traditional chicken curry and garlic nan bread. I love heat or spicy food so I asked for "Indian Spicy". That is the hottest the cooks will make it. It was one of the best Indian meals I have had in a long time. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some good Indian food. It was like they didn't want us there just our money. First they moved us from our table, then the waitress spilled water all over my back. Several of our party asked for mild curries. They were so hot we couldn't eat them. I almost went into anaphylactic shock. Horrible expensive experience. (oh, and they made 2 orders wrong) read more

I ordered delivery one Thursday evening and got the chicken tikka masala (spicy) and butter chicken (medium spicy) as well as a duo of vegetarian samosas and some naan. Food came on time and freshly made, it was piping hot! The spice level was appropriate on the two main entrees I ordered-- though I may go spicer on the butter chicken next time. I was delighted by the samosas. Divine. Compared to other Indian must-haves in the area, I think the pricing is a bit steep for the amount of food you get. Exotic India is mouth wateringly good! I can't wait to try more on their menu.

I have also tried a lot more items from here, which have all been fantastic. Those items are chicken biryani, chicken curry, chili paneer, multiple kinds of dosa, and a bunch of things they've given me samples of. Anyway, here is the review that I thought I posted: I tried Leela's Kitchen for the first time tonight, and I absolutely loved it! For those who don't know, Leela's Kitchen is a small take-out South Indian restaurant tucked inside of the Amoco gas station at the corner of Blair's Ferry and C Avenue. I tried a lot of things, and I didn't know what most of them were, but I'm going to try my best to provide what little information I can about the things I had. My favorite thing was a dish of chunks of chicken lightly sauced with a very flavorful sauce. I had asked for the chili chicken, which they were out of, and the guy who took my order recommended this and said it was kind of like chicken 65. It was out of this world! My second favorite thing was the masala dosa. I actually ate it with the sauce that came with my wife's samosas, because I absolutely loved that sauce, and I thought it went great with the dosa. (I think it's tamarind sauce?) I don't usually like samosas, but I thought my wife's somasas were better than what I'm used to. I also got butter chicken and rice for our daughters. One really loved it, but said it was a little spicier than she's used to, but not too spicy. (She's 12. So, she's not someone who eats a lot of spicy food.) Our other daughter didn't seem super impressed with the butter chicken, but she didn't dislike it. I should mention something about spice. I'm not sure about this, but I got the impression that the spice levels just are what they are (as opposed to how some places ask you to pick a spice level). The reason I think that is that the guy who took my order seemed genuinely concerned that the chicken was going to be too spicy for me. It wasn't too spicy, but my thought is that if they were able to adjust the spice level, he would have just had them adjust it instead of being worried about whether it was too spicy for me. I actually prefer when places just serve things at one spice level, though. If I'm going to try an item, I want to try it the way it's supposed to be. Restaurants don't feel like they need to ask my salt level, sugar level, garlic level, etc. I like when a restaurant just makes things the way they're supposed to be made. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal from Leela's, and will definitely be back!

The family who owns this restaurant has always made me and my children feel at home; whether it has been for buffet or just a nice dinner, Haveli has always been a comfortable place to get a great meal. I started eating here shortly after this restaurant opened, and the person who took my first order guaranteed that I'd be back before I'd even tasted the food; he was right.
