I added chili crunch oil to the dish which took the rolls to another level. We shared a large order which was plenty since were tasty a variety of tasty foods in Chinatown. Service was good. Rolls are made to order and do take 20 minutes to make. The place looked clean and organized. Many people were in line so that is a tell tell sign the food is tasty. I used to be a fan of this place, but unfortunately it seems like they have enough customers now that they don't really care about losing any. Last Saturday, I went in and the guy at the counter had tissue stuffed in one of his nostrils. Whatever the reason was, it was honestly just disgusting and completely unprofessional. I waited in line for about 10 minutes. When it was finally my turn, he walked away to the kitchen as if I didn't exist. I stood there patiently for another 10 minutes before he came back. When he finally took my order, the first thing he said was that there would be a 30-minute wait and asked if I was okay with that. At that point, I was already frustrated. I wish he had told me about the 30-minute wait before disappearing into the kitchen and wasting more of my time. I left, and he didn't seem to care at all. I missed that because their monitors have some kind of Roku advertisement flashing on the screen intermittently, which hides parts of the menu at various times. This screen glitch is my one and only complaint about my experience. Fast forward to my number being called and, praise sweet baby Jesus, I was in heaven. This was "dance in my seats in between bites" good. I think it was a combination of the fact that I hadn't ever had anything quite like it, AND that it was so delicious at the same time. I ended up finishing this, and visiting another stall. What I ordered at the other stall was perfectly fine, but I kept thinking about my first true love the whole time. This is in no way saying that the food is bad. But oh my lord is it overhyped. I went New Year's day around 1PM. It was certainly busy, but I've seen it far busier on a regular weekend. After ordering my food, the cashier told (warned) me that it would be AT LEAST 20 minutes. Being hopeful, I assume that would mean no more than 30 minutes. I understand how restaurants can get busy. Boy was I wrong. I waited 40 minutes for ONE order of rice noodles. I got only the shrimp rice noodle because that's all I was craving at the moment. Was it piping hot and fresh? Yes. Complaints - it was improperly deshelled so I spit out some shrimp shells. It tasted no better than regular dim sum at any restaurant. I asked for no egg, but there were hints of yellow in my order of rice noodle. I know someone with an egg allergy, and this would have brought a lot of trouble. At the very least, the restaurant would have had to make a new order and I'd be stuck waiting for who knows how long. Honestly, it's not worth the hype. Don't listen the the influencers.
