Smooth, silky steamed rice noodle rolls at this food hall location. Bunch of different filling combinations available from the classic shrimp and beef to "loaded" with shrimp, beef, roast pork. We tried the loaded and it was prepared fresh. We suggest to-go if you want to avoid the noise and crowds. Add a little soy sauce and enjoy. $10

I've only tried rice rolls from 2 other NYC locations but must say this one is a MUST visit. The rice rolls had the perfect texture, not too chewy, not too soft. The filling was fresh and complimented the rice roll. I had beef, bean sprouts, corn, and scallions in mine, and you have to drizzle their house-made sauces and chili oil on it. I got my food pretty quickly and the staff was very nice. Chill ambience with a few seats for you to sit and enjoy your food. I'm gonna be thinking about this meals for days.

Located in New World Mall, near the bathrooms behind the escalator. Their rice noodle rolls are delicious. You can add an egg for an extra $1. Soy milk is $3. The wait was 35 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. There were A LOT of people. You have to find your own seats. Be careful!

I am not sure what my fiancé ordered but we were trying to have a quick breakfast after an appointment and everything from here is always so good. The rice roll is always so thin allowing for all the flavors from the toppings to come through. The other one was like a fried scallion pancake wrapped around meat which was also super delicious and lightly crispy. The service is always nice and quick which we enjoyed as well because we were both super hungry.

Why 5 stars? Because I have a confession: I love rice rolls. --- --- --- I didn't even know what a rice roll was, and I'm still not sure I do now, but what I do know is that I want them in my life as often as possible in the future. Via Jando's guidance, we visited New World Mall and went staight to Joe's Steam Rice Roll. I ordered one with Beef, Scallions, Corn and Lettuce and then sat at the table next to the stall waiting for it. As I waited, I realized I missed that one of the items is called "Joe's Signature", which I would have ordered had I seen it. I missed that because their monitors have some kind of Roku advertisement flashing on the screen intermittently, which hides parts of the menu at various times. This screen glitch is my one and only complaint about my experience. Fast forward to my number being called and, praise sweet baby Jesus, I was in heaven. This was "dance in my seats in between bites" good. I think it was a combination of the fact that I hadn't ever had anything quite like it, AND that it was so delicious at the same time. I ended up finishing this, and visiting another stall. What I ordered at the other stall was perfectly fine, but I kept thinking about my first true love the whole time. Eventually, I told my friend, "I gotta get another rice roll before I leave this place." Much to his dismay, I did. Round two was the aforementioned signature roll. And guess what? While also awesome, I think my custom concoction was even better. I'm a steam roll guy now and that's that.

Joe's rice rolls are delicious! It is located inside the New World Food Court in the mall. The rice rolls are made to order and you can add toppings inside as well. Each rice roll is around $6-8 depending on what you want. There are options for curry fish balls as well. Out of all the rice roll places I've tried, this place is my favorite! We got the fresh shrimp rice roll with corn and cilantro. It was fresh, soft, and tasty. Would definitely come back again!

I've tried Joe's in the city and was happy to see that they had a location in Flushing. Joe's steamed rice roll is known for their authentic cheung fun. The rolls are made to order and steamed in front of you. During this visit I got the shrimp and egg roll. The roll was floppy and delicate, just the way I like it. The wait was short, but well worth it.

Flushing location. This place is overrated. The space is so small. They have the first shop location in this small food court/hall, so they attract all the customers. The vendors in the back are so bored that they're on their phones. There is limited counter seating, and when people walk past you, it's easy to get bumped. It's not a comfortable eating situation for a big group for sure. I got the soy milk, and it was good. They have condiments, like soy sauce and chili sauce. No bathroom.

Maybe I had my expectations too high, but I thought that this place was alright. Now, a stall in the New World mall, this rice roll stand offers a variety of your favorite breakfast dish--rice rolls! They're made-to-order and you can also add a bunch of different toppings to your rice roll (on top of the three free veggie choices that you get upon ordering). I got their specialty rice roll, which includes dried shrimp, beef, and a couple other toppings. I thought that it was okay. Although it was filling and had generous portions of the meat, I thought that the rice sheets were a bit thicker than I would typically like. Nonetheless, it was still a good rice roll spot, but just a bit overhyped.

You can't go wrong with these classic steamed rice rolls - I actually prefer Joe's over the ones they serve at dim sum because the rice rolls are thinner and easier to enjoy. They also add extra stuff like egg, bean sprouts, cilantro, etc. and don't forget the chili oil and sauce! It is super affordable for a quick bite to eat and they have a new location in new world mall now since the mall they were originally in across the street is now closed. They also used to accept both credit card and cash but discount when paid with cash. IG: _acquired.taste

I've ordered similar dishes at dim sum places before, but they never really left it an impression. Not true for the ones here though! Made to order and served hot, these were super flavorful especially after we loaded it up with chili oil! I'd recommend sharing because they are very filling. As a bonus, my friend and I were lucky to snag a counter spot so we could watch them being made while we ate!

Cool to see this place finally make its way into the New World Mall food court. Located on the corner near the elevators/restroom area, this place is always busy. Ordered around 11:15 on a Sunday and was told it would be about a 30min wait. I was hoping with this newer location they'd have more steamers, but seems like it's still a pretty small operation. At any rate, after snacking a bit and waiting around, we got our order. Got the shrimp party and curry fish ball rice rolls along with a pancake (vegetarian). The rice rolls were solid! I personally still think Cheong Fun Cart in Chinatown is the best, but you can't go wrong with these. The price though is a little steep. About $10 for one order of rice rolls. I'm sure the price upcharge is probably the higher rent to be at new world. It is definitely nicer to have seating, although if you've ever been to new world mall it can always be a bit of a fight. Tl;dr - Solid place to get rice rolls despite steeper prices. Be prepared to wait (maybe do some grocery shopping while you wait).

Another trip to NY, another visit to Joe's Steam Rice Roll. I placed an order to pick-up through Grub Hub. It is extremely busy in the morning so I would highly recommend calling in or placing an order online. I ordered 3 shrimp steam rice rolls and 2 Chinese crepes. I flew with the crepes all the way back to Florida and heated them up in my airfryer the next day....that's how good Joe's steam rice rolls is. Don't forget to ask them for peanut sauce and hot chili oil if you're taking it to go!

When is the best time to go in the weekend? Early in the morning to avoid long lines? thank you

Hi. You can call the shop 30Mins + and tell them when you wants to pick- up. That’s should be more convenient

    Are they gluten free.?

The rice rolls are, because they're made of rice flour. The sauce may not be if it's soy based.

How long do rice roll orders take? I wanted to try this place today and they told me it would be a 40 min wait for the Joe's Signature!

It depends on what day and what time of day you go but you can always order ahead in the phone. A lot of people do that so that's why orders take so long.

    Are there gluten free options?

    Do they do delivery?

I don't think they do but maybe a Chinese delivery service. Better to just pick up!

    Are they open during covid?

They just reopened for take out from 9am to 7pm

Is there any parking near the Flushing location? (Preferably not in a garage, and anywhere in relative walking distance.) Thanks!

There is a municipal parking across street of Queens Crossing building.

What is the brown sauce on the rice rolls? Do they put it on automatically, or do you have to order it?

Soy sauce. They give it to you on the side.

The staff wanted my wife to sit at an angle to the table; so that they could pass through. The seafood itself was solid traditional Cantonese fare with fresh lobster tanks, steamed fish, and classic banquet-style dishes. The atmosphere felt colorful authentic Hong Kong banquet hall energy. However, some of their pricing was completely out of whack. Mother's Day premium for sure which is understandable, but some dishes were simply excessively expensive for what was delivered. For example, our two lobsters, while fresh, were missing that smoky "wok hei" flavor that great Cantonese kitchens are known for. It lacked the depth, aroma, and richness one expects from a proper high-heat wok preparation. A few items felt priced more for Guide Michelin luxury dining than a Flushing seafood hall. This said, the service was efficient and professional; changing plates all the time. So a high level of attention above the usual Cantonese restaurant. Overall, decent food in and an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant that targets special family gatherings, but be prepared, both the crowds and the bill can become overwhelming very quickly. I paid more than $400 for three people. But we had a Tiger Fish which is $50 per pound.

I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.

There are some generally Good (4 stars) places, like Asian Jewels and Emperor Seafood, but most other places are somewhere between OK and Good (between 3 and 4 stars). Royal Queen 君豪大酒楼 is part of that latter group -- there are good things, but there is also mediocrity; and there are customer service issues. The good: - Beef Rice Noodle Rolls: The rice noodle rolls here are generally silky soft. There is supposedly parsley in the beef mince but we noticed little to none in the versions we've had. Royal Queen is generous with the sweetened soy sauce; they pour it from a teapot. - Pan-Fried Leek Dumplings 韭菜煎蝦餃: the shrimp are generally fresh and crisp. - Shrimp Siu Mai with Pork 蝦粒乾蒸燒賣: above average. - The Osmanthus Jelly 杞子桂花糕 has a deeper hue than most other places in Queens. The OK: - Five-Spice Braised Beef Tendon 五香蒸牛筋: pieces are generally little too large and not as consistently soft as other places. - Steamed Leek Dumplings: get the pan-fried version instead. - Stuffed Peppers 煎釀青椒: as with other places, inconsistently cleaned so there can be one or two bites that have an extreme amount of heat. - Shrimp Siu Mai: essentially the same as the ha gow, but in a different wrapper. I think we prefer the shrimp siu mai over the ha gow here. The Could Be Better: - Taro Dumplings (Wu Gok 芋角): lacks ingredients in the filling. - Staffing and Quality Control Issues: Royal Queen has plenty of staff, yet sometimes there aren't enough people working the dim-sum carts. Like many other Chinese restaurants, it seems that staff aren't empowered to address food quality issues. - The restrooms can be pretty good compared to those in other parts of the building. We observed people come into and out of the restaurant seemingly just to use the restrooms. However, there are times when the restrooms could be better maintained.

The pace of the restaurant is very fast...as soon as you are seated, you are given tea and your waiter comes over right away to take any order you are ready to give. There was also "outdoor" dining area Can't wait to return (salivating writing This review )

There's a "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker at Maxi's Noodle which is basically all that needs to be…read moresaid! Maxi's Noodle is teensy; a sign warns you that tables may be shared. I ate in the enclosed patio which only had two tables, and the inside didn't seem much bigger. There is no bathroom for customers so don't bank on bio breaks here. It's efficient in that I was seated promptly, was able to place my order when I was ready, and the food came out lickety-split. Carry cash for a discount. I ordered the Wonton, Dumpling, & Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($14.75) under the "Popular Items" section of the menu since it seemed sampler-esque. The wontons and dumplings were similar since they both contained shrimp and pork but I leaned towards the dumplings since they also included mushroom, bamboo, wood ear, and chives. The duck egg noodles, beef, and broth rounded out the awesomeness. Can't wait to return with others!
