Collins Fine Foods is certainly one of the better shops in Van Wert. It's menu is varied. It's a…read moreliquor store... a darn great liquor store! Plenty of beer, including craft beer, wine, and liquors. But, it's more than that. It has a deli that makes sandwiches or sells you cut meats or cheeses, it will sell you fresh steaks, it has a varied selection of candy, jelly beans and fine chocolates. It has gourmet coffee for sale. There are gift baskets for purchase. It's pretty much a one stop shop for a great party or perhaps a romantic dinner! I came twice to this store already, and plan on coming much more often. The first time, I came to check it out. I kept hearing from so many people I work with that this place is great. They are right! I was pleased to finally find a liquor store that sold at least one of my favorite wines (Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio) and had other wines I would truly. I was happy to find out the store sold one of my favorite brands of chocolate (Sanders) and even had its sea salt version! It also has craft beers! Awesome! I talked to the owner, great guy. He told me about the steaks and how I can order certain cuts and he would have them shipped to the store. He even advised that if there was a certain wine I wanted that wasn't sold there, he would also have it shipped! Yes! I think he also mentioned (and it's on their menu) that they sold hot foods on certain days before 4:00 pm... including soups, bbq pork, and other meals. hmmm will have to see and check it out. I came a second time during the chocolate walk. They were handing out plenty of chocolate treats but also booze! They had Rumchata Limon, A Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer that tasted like coffee and a dark chocolate wine. If you know me, you can guess I went for the wine! Wonderful! Will have to buy some in the future! Someone I met during the chocolate walk said it was a bit too strong for her taste... not for me... perfect! Chocolaty goodness that with the liquor warmed me up during an especially frigid day during the chocolate walk! Great place! I have to come back once I have finished settling into my new house!

We understand the difference…read morebetween the butcher shops and large chain stores with quality and are open to paying some extra. With this we ended up at Smith Family Farms Market on Saturday and purchased 3 beef filets for grilling on Father's Day. The service was great and the people were very friendly and helpful. BUT, the best part was the steaks. These were by far the best steaks we had grilled in a long while. They melted in your mouth they were so tender. I braised them over high heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side. Then grilled them for 8 minutes on each side. They were very thick and turned out beautiful with slight pink center (temperature was about 150° - 155°). As said they were so tender.. We've found a new go to. Our thanks to the people at Smiths for making our Father's Day meal special!!!

This review is for Either Friday or Saturday Oct 8/9, 2021…read more I will say we tried them because they had 5 stars, but sadly only 19 people have reviewed the place, so either they have had more who do not use yelp or others do not leave reviews, which may have made up a difference, for as long they have been in business. I usually like to look thins up before trying local business, especially family owned one's out. I am giving two dates because right now I do not recall which date my partner went in to give these folks a try. Since moving down here we have been looking for a new butcher to shop at as our business was with another local butcher where we lived, so we were could frequent the butcher over store products as 9 times out of 10 butches product is fresher and better depending where you go. So like stated we wanted to give this location a try for the first time. Due to my current health situation with esrd, we tend to not go My partnered had picked up some jerky, a pork shoulder, and Italian sausages. So overall the jerky was ok, and everyone makes their jerky different, but I personally did not care for it, in cased asked why, it was too tough than what I am use to from others. The Italian Sausages, I will say I loved, and will definitely get more if and when we stop in again. Now the reason for 3 stars, I based on both the Pork shoulder and how customer service was handled. I would have given an extra star, but issue was not handled appropriately. I understand this is family ran, I understand how a business is to be ran as I had one for several years, I have as well watched a butcher work their business up north where I am from. The way this location handled issues when my partner called in is not customer service like. I am unsure if regulars get better care than new customers is all I am going to say there. My partner phoned in and the following happen: "She informed about the pork shoulder, was told "we have never had that kind of issue here" Rather than I am sorry and own up to the issue as if we were making something up, we got that and a store credit. So the way the pork shoulder was packaged was as follows: Saran wrap like plastic, and then wrapped in the white like paper. When unwrapping it on Sat or Sunday as it was never frozen, it was suppose to be fresh, I asked what the foul smell was, it was the pork shoulder. I am unsure if the meat was just going bad and this is why this was pushed over the tenderloin we wanted or what the issue was. To owners and staff, we may give you a try again in the near future, and then I will update this review, but until then this is my honest review of our experience of our first time with you guys. I wish it had gone better.

Because it has the same owner and almost the same name, I'm not 100% sure that the BarCade deserves its own Yelp page, but MSDBaA is different enough from MSDaB that I'm reviewing it as an independent business. The games: For just the games? I'd give MSDBaA 3 to 4 stars. The selection is pretty standard stuff. They're missing some of the 80s blockbusters, but they have many of them. They also have several sleeper hits and a few games that never really made it over the top. All arcade games are set on free play all of the time! The 7 pinball machines are on set on free play on Thursday and Sunday, but are normally 1 dollar per play (standard for "new" games these days). This, obviously, is a great deal (on Sunday and Thursday). Most of the games are in pretty good shape, but none are in perfect condition. In the past, I've said that I'd rather pay to play a game that is in top condition, than play a free game with sloppy joysticks or buttons. This still holds true. Again, overall, the games ain't bad. The bar: The quality of the drinks and the beer selection makes up for the non-stellar game collection. The service: Excellent service from Andrew and Rachel. Both were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The Atmosphere: The atmosphere is fun and comfortable. Also, it's attached to a pretty good, albeit a little expensive, sandwich shop. Although I'd love to see a little more attention given the retro arcade games, in general this place is great; it's nice to have MSDBaA in Downtown Findlay. Toledo should take a lesson or two.

They offer a variety of things including fresh baked loaves of bread to take home! I ordered over the phone and my food was ready within 10 minutes! Service was fast and easy. My salad was loaded with toppings and super flavorful. I am only rating 4 stars because the avocado did not seem fresh and there were a few pieces of brown lettuce.

Most of the people who work there are some of the nicest people I've met. I usually stop in to grab the cheese pizza pretzels, the cereal marshmallows, and something from the chocolate aisle. My friend who usually goes with me loves their hot cheese cups and the sauces they have to offer. The dip mixes are great too and the baked goods on the rack towards the back are tasty! Sometimes the prices are a little higher on some things but it's a very clean store and just fun to visit.

I will tell you that one of the most impressive things about Old Thyme Pantry is that it has an extensive candy section... two aisles worth. Moreover, the candy isn't the factory made stuff... that said the candy can be a little hit or miss. My mother did not like the sugar wafers for instance and i disliked the sea salt fudge. Yet at the same time, the orange slices were very good and the chocolate covered raisins were to die for (def better than Raisinettes!). The store also sells soup mixes, local honey, jams, jelly's and fresh meat. They also have a Deli. I bought some Deli items and again hit or miss... some of the items i didn't like but their was this chicken one that was delish. Cool store, one that looks to be owned by mennonite/amish? Definitely would be willing to give it a second try in the future... and one you should try as well.
