Found this great deli for lunch today. It was a bit of a drive off of I-80, but worth it. I had a delicious panini I'd never had before with Genoa salami and provolone cheese. Hubby had chicken salad on sourdough bread. Delicious. Cute downtown location, easier to park than expected, plenty of seating after you order. Friendly lady taking orders, then they deliver to your table. Only suggestion would be to have a menu before you get to the cashier/order taker. It would help to be able to look at the menu while you're waiting to speak to the person taking orders. Overall, great place. Definitely recommend and will go back if in the area. read more

This is the first time that we have ever eaten here. My wife had the cold roast beef sandwich. The meat was lean and very tasty. I had the Reuben. Despite not being that complicated of a sandwich, I've had more that I disliked than liked. I rarely order them in restaurants but once in a while I can't help myself. I was very glad I did. The amount of each ingredient was perfect. Grilled to perfection. One of the better ones I have had in a long time. We will definitely go back to try the other sandwiches. read more

We are so happy we stumbled upon this deli while stumbling upon this downtown during our trip! The sandwich was made-to-order and very fresh. The soup and Italian pasta salad were both very good and also clearly homemade. They were addicting! We got a "make-your-own" sandwich with roast beef, peppers, Greek olives, mustard, and tomato on panini. It was fantastic! Portion sizes are good. After waiting in line to order with no menu in sight until I reached the crabby woman taking orders (she was quick to bark out orders at me) I placed my order (2 egg omelette and rye toast) and took a seat waiting again to see if the food was worth the wait. Side note: gloves that touch everything including customer food are not sanitary, I would rather she wash her hands often. The omelette was good, could not tell you if my rye toast was flavorless or balloon wheat bread. For a small town, not too shabby. We were in town for a wrestling tournament and we were looking for a local place to eat. The interior is perfect with exposed brick and a wall of windows that allows you to watch the happenings in town. Our first disappointment is that it was before 11 and the woman at the register snapped at me to say they weren't serving breakfast. This leads me to my second and major disappointment. The elderly woman at the counter was so incredibly rude. She snapped at me no less than 6 times. And the same holds true for all of my family members that placed separate orders. The food was decent, not amazing. Sandwiches are rather small for the price. Truly, we love supporting local businesses but this grump ruined it for us. Service was okay they are mostly busy and the wait is 5-10 minutes for your food but everyone is so lovely and plesent. The ambiance was very modern and comfortable. Not a bad spot to get lunch. I went with a friend who is local to Angola and I chose to make my own sandwich and it was pretty good. It comes with a bad of chips. The price is super reasonable considering it's hard to find lunch under $10 at a lot of places. The variety of choices are good and they do offer catering. I am totally impressed for such a small little town. Environment : this is a diner feel. With a surprising Twist of a oven for making fresh pizzas. There were many places to sit but it does seem like a very busy place because most of the tables were taken. the decor and the environment all in all were very satisfying Service: I'm totally in love with the service here. The woman who was taking the orders was an older lady who was extremely nice. I tend to have small talk with whomever is helping me anywhere and she was quick to join in. I asked if she enjoyed working there and she told me that she had been there 17 years with a big smile on her face. She then pointed to one of the servers who she mentioned was her son-in-law and that he was the owner. I think it's awesome that the owner is so involved in such a small business. You could be doing anything and be anywhere but instead he is in the business helping out. Food: I really like the food here. I got the build your own sandwich and I'm very happy with it. I also liked that there were so many different choices. I did hear a lot of great things about the pizza but I refrain from getting it this time. Who says downtown's are dead? Sutton's has to be one of the prides of small town USA and a gold star for the Angola area. This place was busy for lunch and for good reason, great food and outstanding service. Walking in I wasn't sure what to expect but I was immediately impressed by the design and decor. Wood, brick, stone and it feels like home. Everyone I encountered was friendly, full of suggestions, and knew how to chit chat and make you feel comfortable while working their tails off. These people are the masters of multi-tasking and service with a smile. Everything was fast, friendly, and efficient. I would be tempted to eat a dropped item as this place is clean as a whistle even when they were in a rush. While it looked like they had a lot of great sandwiches designed by their owners, I went with the make your own and pulled off a four meat combo on sourdough and was very happy with what they created for me. Ham, turkey, salami, and some really good pastrami with onions, peppers, lettuce and tomato. Got a side of chips and a tasty pickle with it. I was just in for lunch but I will be back at some point for breakfast and dinner. They do it all here from hot and cold breakfast to sandwiches fit for lunch or dinner, multiple specialty soups (nothing without dairy though on the regular), and they have pizza on weekends. I honestly question why anyone in this town would ever go to a Subway, Pizza Hut, or Pizza King with Sutton's downtown, unless it was during the week when they have limited hours. If they had a choice of something else, I would take it and go back the next day to get something for later or on the weekend when they are open til nine. Sutton's was recommended to me by Yelp and everyone else that wrote a review did not let me down. I am stingy with my five star rating and I write this one with a smile. I strongly recommend Sutton's to anyone that is local, visiting Trine University, just passing through, or up for the summer to enjoy the lakes. I look forward to coming back again. read more

Excited to get a real deli braunschweiger sandwich. Well, it was real and it's a deli and the braunschweiger was good. But very bare-bones fare. Plain wheat bread - nothing grainy or with any body to it (Wonder Bread colored brown.) No onions, no lettuce, no tomato. Plain yellow mustard. Chips from a sack, Styrofoam cup for soda, but yes, there was a dill pickle wedge. They could take some deli lessons from a NY deli, or Sherman's in Coachella Valley, Ca or Old World Deli, Bellingham. read more
