Alpha Delights is a neat, little bakery and cafe in De Pere. I recently came here for lunch. Beforehand I read some reviews and everyone raved about their chicken salad. Even on their menu it says they have some of the best chicken salad. I felt silly not trying it, so that's what I ordered. I'm on a low carb diet, and I liked that they offered the option to have it on greens instead of a croissant. I'm glad I can depend on the Yelp community because it was really good. I wish I could have bought a big tub of it and eaten it with a big spoon lol. They also sell cakes and other desserts. I've never had any of it, but it was tempting. I'd suggest ordering your meal to go. It's a small space and noticed a few people came in to pick up orders. If you're with one other person you should be able to get a table, otherwise it could be difficult even with a group of four. read more

Our family of four visited Alpha Delights for Sunday brunch. Not only was there something for everyone, including our our toddler and our picky eater, it was hard to narrow down to one per person. (In all honesty, we didn't and ended up sharing a little of everything). For the sweet tooth, the cheesecake parfait blended the creamy dairy with bright tart/sweet of pomegranate seeds. The curry potato tart was delightfully crisp and savory. My highlight was the benedict. The sausage was truly spicy, a not hot, but flavorfully spiced. As a parent, I enjoyed the option for tastes my kids love - the brie and jam croissant was a hit. And I can't forget the peppermint mocha tea latte! We'll be back! read more

Had to finally try the famous chicken salad and we were not disappointed! I called and ordered for take out and I only had to wait a minute after arriving and paying for it to be ready. We tried the chicken salad over a bed of greens rather than on a croissant. They certainly did not skimp out in the amount of chicken salad they gave us. With take out they still included the fruit - oranges and grapes - and what seemed like home baked pita chips! Everything was sooooo delicious!! I would certainly get the chicken salad again, even on the mixed greens, but I can only imagine that it tastes just as good if not better on the croissant! I also saw all of the pastry items on display while waiting and was very tempted to get something because they all looked great! Next time I'll have to try something. I ordered a cake for a family event. The cake itself turned out really cute, all the guest loved it and thought it looked prefect. The taste was good as well, not the most amazing cake I've had but I liked it because it was moist and not overly sweet. I mainly took stars off because of the customer service I received. I was hesitant to order from here because I've had bad customer service from here before. However, after a family recommended, I decide to give them another shot. The person who took down my cake order, I believe her name was Mary. Wasn't really friendly or sounded nice over the phone. I did call about two weeks ahead of the event but she made me sound like I was just an inconvenience. I told her the event was a Sunday so she told me I had to pick it up on Saturday because they are closed Sundays. Which I understood. I asked how late they were open until because I had to work until 4. She told me 3:30. I told her I'd pick it up around 3, and she followed up by asking, "Well when is the soonest you can pick up?" Which made me feel like I had to pick up the cake earlier than I had told her. Before that, I asked her about the cake options and favors. I wanted a chocolate mousse as a filling and had mention that to her. She ignored that request and said they have their chocolate buttercream filling. Prior to this, I had attempted to place and order months before my daughters birthday for her cake. But it took them a long time to follow up. By the time they did, my event had already passed. Maybe I'll give them another chance. As they say, "third times the charm." So I hope their service will improve because as a member of the community, I want to help support local businesses. Therefore, I hope they can at least treat me with some kindness. read more

I stopped here to get dessert to go with my Rubin dinner. What a great place. Such atmosphere. I walked in and the lady behind the case ask if I had a Gimlet in my pocket. I told her no, that it was in my other pair of pants. She then had to explain what a Gimlet was. I am a Jack Daniels man so I am not worldly about other drinks. Another woman came out from the back with my slice of Snow Queen's Dream cake. Then we began to talk about Booyah, I prefer Gumbo. Then a man came out and we discussed Gumbo. Nice little café, could be great, if it weren't for their small portions/ somewhat high prices. I wouldn't even mind the prices, if the portions matched, but alas they are really very cheap with their sides (such as the pita chips and fruit that come with some 'lunch' items, you get maybe 2 grapes and 2 veryyy thin slices of sour oranges, I mean come on, fruit really isn't that expensive!) Chicken sandwich was very tastey, worth the almost $9, but I would consider it a light lunch and more of a treat than a daily meal. The gyro on the other hand....well lets just say I've had better...totally not worth it (meat was NOT prepared fresh, most likely frozen), it reminded me more of a snack wrap than a legit full size Greek gyro. The best thing they have going are their croissants ....they are absolutely amazing!!! Best croissants I've had stateside, and I'm pretty picky, since I've lived in Italy, France and the New York area. I've already popped in about 3 times in the last month just to pick up a fresh almond croissant. If I had to judge them solely on their croissants, then 5 stars... If only Alpha Delights offered some sort of weekday (or weekend) special or discount *hint* *hint*, particularly on their croissants, I would definitely visit more often. I'm hopeful. read more

Been going here for years and always great. But last visit was different. It looks like new owners have taken over. For one, the dessert selection is half of what it used to be. We had the chicken sand on croissant. Tasted as great as ever but portion of salad to croissant was poor. I had to take at least 2 bites before getting any of the salad which is of course the best part. I'm paying $10 for this and it should be overflowing with salad not bread. Looked at maybe buying the salad only next time and making my own sand but that is priced at $16/lb!! What??? It's very good but in the end it is chicken salad not lobster! I will try this place again in few months to see if it had improved. read more

This is a special place, and we've never been disappointed. I've eaten lunch here many times, but what I particularly like is the catering/takeout. I often get spanikopita or leek and cheese pie for guests, accompanied by one of their beautiful tortes or cakes. Sometimes I stop on the way home for some soup or chicken salad. One of the best cakes I've ever had was the tiger cake. It is chocolate with orange (I'm really over-simplifying it), so the brown and orange colors look wonderful for a fall event, especially: the cake is beautiful and delicious. I ordered a cake at the last minute for a holiday gathering. They were very friendly and accommodating. Alpha recommend the tiramisu cake. While I was picking up my cake, I bought some christmas cookies which were excellent. The cake was beautiful, it may not be the best tiramisu I've ever had,But it was good. Today I had the Greek salad with gyro meat and my wife has the chicken salad. We recommend both. Horrible service - Horrible food. We waited at the counter to place our order for several minutes, then a high schooler asked us what we wanted. No pleasant greeting or even a smile. The menu was very limited--not much variety--there was chicken salad and tuna salad. The place was empty, but not a clean table any where. SO, we cleaned a table and sat down. The high schooler came to our table after we cleaned it and told us we had to get our own drinks from the refrigerator. I got the drinks, but then no one was available to provide cups and ice for us. The food eventually arrived. It was awful--warm chicken salad always makes me wonder. The place was dirty, service was non-existent, and we were very happy to leave and never return! read more
