So, if you love authentic French bakery, this is a must. It's been open for awhile, and it's right in my neighborhood. I've been meaning to go, and kicking myself for not going sooner! So their menu has both sweet and savory crepes, savory paninis, and waffles. EVERYTHING looks delicious. My friends and I all opted for savory pains, and a crepe to share. I ordered the turkey, havarti and spinach panini. Delicious doesn't do it justice. A lot of places will serve a sandwuch on like a white bread pressed on a flat grill and call it a panini. Not here! Fresh sourdough, crunchy, and pressed in a panini press. Grill marks everywhere, crunchy goodness, and delicious fillings. I love how melty havarti is, and the pesto spread is absolutely divine. One friend ordered the same sandwich as me, and the other friend ordered the 3 cheese grilled cheese and it looked absolutely ooey gooey delish. And trust when I say, the sandwiches are HUGE!! I brought half of mine home for lunch tomorrow. Then, we ordered the Orange crepe, with caramelized orange slices, chocolate drizzle, and fresh whipped cream. O M G. It's just enough sweetness, with that fresh citrus. It was subtle and delicate, but so full flavored at the same time. The Owner was so friendly!! That doesn't impact the taste of the offerings, of course, but it just made the whole experience so enjoyable. Everything is fresh fresh fresh, the menu changes seasonally so there's always going to be something new and exciting. Right now, there's a "limited time only" s'mores crepe that is calling my name!! A couple things that are not ideal: it's Broadway district so parking sucks. Especially with all the snow piled up, it's just cumbersome to get there (but so worth it!). I try not to be an asshole when leaving reviews. Stopped there today after looking forward to the place since it opened. The restaurant itself is very unfinished. Chairs still unwrapped piled in the corner. A cooling table that is not being used. Ok sure sure whatever. I'll let it slide. What I cannot let slide is a crepe with five slices of apple a quarter oz of caramel sauce and a single poot of whipped cream ("frosting" according their menu) costing JUST SHY of a whole fucking ten dollar bill. I don't usually leave reviews but I think this one is deserved. I was searching for the restaurant hours and saw the "meh" yelp rating and was a bit surprised. Looking at what was posted I don't think the reviews give the pace enough credit. I remember anticipating the opening and being a bit disappointed when I tried to go because the line was 45min long just to take an order. But that's what happens when something new and kind of special opens anywhere. Expect a wait, expect a few hiccups as the place gets up running and keep your fingers crossed that the owner (who from what I read in a local new article poured his heart into the place) can figure a way meet the demand and find his groove. I waited until July to attempt another visit. Just a random weekday in the summer. We were greeted by the owner and his young(ish) son who was obviously new to helming the register with his dad proudly looking on and it just made the vibe so much more personal. Truly a family operation. The drink selection was not the biggest but I believe that the quality of what they offer is more important than the quantity of product. My son is a coffee drinker but has never had a French press. When we sat at our table (outside and somehow cozy despite being on a busy street) the owner brought the press out to the table and gave us a tutorial on how to use which was unexpected and appreciated. The food itself was outstanding. There were 3 of us and we ordered very different things. Belgian waffle, sweet crepe and a savory crepe. Plating was artistic, quality was exceptional and quantity was what it should be. I love it when food is an experience and this did not disappoint. Please don't judge this gem of a restaurant by a scattering of reviews complaining about trivial things like chairs that were probably sorted out that same day or by someone not appreciating the elevation of real whipped cream complimenting the food compared to the can of redi-whip they are probably used to smothering their crepes in.
