Delish is exactly that, Delicious! This was a delivery order so I didn't get to experience the ambiance of the restaurant or customer service but the food was great and makes me want to dine in! Stopped by for dinner with friends on a Friday night. The place wasnt busy and we had a reservation so we were seated and greeted. We ordered their veggie combo and doro wot. This portion was plenty for 2 ppl but it was expensive. We also tried the ethiopian beer which was nice. Service was great. Ambience not so much but food was nice but nothing out of the world. Second Visit (8/17/25) We drove up from Portland specifically for dinner after an exceptional first visit back in March during our conference. We were craving the Assa Dullet, and the food was every bit as delicious as we remembered, absolutely worth the trip. Unfortunately, the service this time was a letdown. We had a 4pm reservation for three under Nikky Barr. On arrival, I was told twice there was no RSVP under my name. Only after I insisted and pulled up my confirmation did the staff acknowledge they found it, for 8/17, the correct date. This interaction felt unnecessary and off-putting, especially after a long drive. The Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony also disappointed. The staff approached us from behind without warning, carrying a skillet that was smoking with freshly roasted beans, and said nothing until we asked. Throughout dinner, we were rushed through the coffee instead of being invited to savor it. It felt unwelcoming, and neither staff member ever introduced themselves. The receipt showed "Amy" as cashier. Since Amy is the owner and also the head chef, we know for certain we did not interact with her during this visit. By contrast, our March server was warm, attentive, and truly elevated our experience. Service makes or breaks a meal, and I hope the front-of-house staff here get support on how to create the same welcoming environment consistently. First of all, if I could give 10 stars I would... just wow! This is the cutest little restaurant, so clean and authentic deco, and the kindest people! It is family run and purely authentic cuisine. We got the Veggie rolls to start (omg so good) and then shared the Delish Combo which was heaven on earth. The best 2 items to share with a guest, or two. Bill for 2 of us (and we were STUFFED) and couldn't eat it all, was $65. Loads of food, flavor and the kindest service you can find. Small place, go before 6pm or make reservations. Went with a group of six, definitely needed a reservation ahead of time as their seating options are limited. With six people we ordered veggie rolls and two delish combo platters and still had leftovers. The food was yummy with lots of different flavors. I would recommend coming here with a group larger than two people unless you prefer lots of leftovers! Although the place it's small but it's filled with Ethiopian culture and very cozy environment. The Delish Combo was delicious but the portion of veggies are definitely more than meat. There's 4 different type of veggies rolled in Injera. I don't know what the sauce they used but it's phenomenal. The Seattle area is super fortunate to have a wealth of Ethiopian cuisine available. Amongst them, Delish is a very well-regarded establishment. We arrived on a Sunday night 6:30pm; the charming, modest place was packed. Note to self: make a reservation! We scored a couple of seats at the bar, which in hindsight, is better seating. The normal tables are low-ish vs the seats, meaning we would be bending over to eat; our backs would have been angry with us at the end of the meal. The normal tables are also modest round shapes, which would make fitting two combo platters to be challenging. Note to self: request bar seating! Our wait staff was super friendly with a fantastic smile. We studied the menu, even though we knew we are ordering the combos. Heard about Delish in the neighborhood and always wanted to try Ethiopian food so we gave it a shot on Friday night for date night. The restaurant is located in Columbia city. Not a very large space but very intimate and homie / welcoming. The team here was so friendly / service was great (gentlemen checked up on our table often just to see how things were and if we needed anything). We had the Ethiopian beer and veggie combo to share plus a spicy chicken dish (Doro wat). The combo platter comes with a variety of items with lots of different flavors. The doro wat is spicy so if you like spicy give it a shot. All of this food came with a type of Ethiopian bread that you wrap the food in to eat. I had such a lovely time at Delish Ethiopian Restaurant! We ordered the Delish Beef Combo and honestly, every bite was delicious. The injera was fresh and soft, and all the flavors were well-balanced. I prefer spicier food, so next time I'll definitely ask them to turn up the heat a bit! What made the experience even better was the customer service--our drinks were constantly refilled, they checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good, and brought extra injera without hesitation. Something I deeply appreciate is that even though the owner isn't Muslim, they still offer halal meat. As someone who observes halal, that means a lot--especially since there aren't many halal Ethiopian options around here. Delish is delish indeed! My friend made a reservation for a Friday dinner through Resy which is a good call as it was fairly busy otherwise. It is a fairly small and intimate restaurant, but that also meant service is pretty good. We got the Delish combo which has a combination of meat + vegetable combos in one plate, which is good portion for 2 people. The injera here is pretty good, not too sour, so the actual food can be savored in more or less its original form. We also got the assa goulash (cube cut tilapia) and the classic doro wot (chicken) as these were not part of the combo, all of which are very well spiced yet balanced. I particularly really loved the tilapia! By ordering all this, we were able to try a large variety of food. My only complaint was that the food does take a while - about 30+ minutes, but the food quality otherwise is super on point and one of the better Ethiopian restaurants out here. Price is also excellent - sharing everything among 5 people was sufficient food and priced around $20 per person after tax and tip. Not many restaurants of this quality fit in this price range anymore these days. read more

Great food and good portions! I love the veggie combo which will feed 1-2 people. I myself can eat off of it for 2 days. Good flavors... Food and taste remains consistent during each visit!! We started with a glass of the Ethiopian Wine each (which is less of a regional wine, and is made from honey... not quite mead, but in the same vein), and shared an order of the veggie roll appetizer. This was the highlight, I will say that now. Get the veggie roll. Period. The spices that I was expecting showed up in this dish, and while I wish the spices were more present elsewhere, they just weren't. So get the veggie roll. We got a couple of dinner entrees and had them plated together on a large tablecloth of the injera bread. There was also a side helping on the bread, but it was cold. I wasn't expecting it to have been cold, so it brought down the temperature of the lentils and chicken we ordered as the mains. I got to meet the owner, Delish, who passionately described his restaurant and the food and staff. With a name like Delish, it is very appropriate his place is also "Delish"!! This was my second visit in a month but this time with the fam. The place was empty when we got there just before 5 pm. By 5:30 pm the place was packed. They did get a couple of take out orders within the hour. The service was slow to begin with. We didn't order anything else to drink besides water as they never asked us which was a miss on their part. We ordered the Veggie Combo and the Delish Combo. Expect a longer than usual wait for the food to arrive. Not sure if they were understaffed in the kitchen as the owner was not around. By far the Veggie Combo is far better than the Delish Combo. There are a few dishes that stand out like the lentil. The meat dishes were ok. The number of injera rolls per combo is definitely less plus the ones that we got were super cold. My experience from my first visit was the exact opposite. I found the spice level of the dish to be a bit underwhelming. But I understand that they are adapting their menu to the populous.
