    Ethiopian honey wine

Came here on a recommendation. Great food. Family owned spot. Service was meh. Perhaps it was because it was a slow day. Who knows. We ordered the vegetarian plate and a fish plate. Such flavor! I also appreciate that the injera wasn't super sour. My least favorite part of the spongy bread is the sour part and there's was a perfect balance. I also tried honey wine for the first time. Different. Not bad at all. The prices are fair for the quantity and quality of food served. Definitely would return.

We went here for some lunch with some friends over the weekend and I was shocked about how much of their menu changed since the new owner took over. They have completely transformed not just the menu but the place as well. They have remodeled the restaurant and hired new people. The servers were friendly, detailed oriented and courteous. The food was amazing, especially the Cornis, I think it's three or four different dishes combined in one and it was amazing, I loved the creativity. Also, their latte was the best latte I have ever had in a restaurant. If you are around the area, give them a try.

Delicious food and great service! We came here for a late lunch and as soon as you walk in, you can smell how good the place is going to be. We ordered the meat/veggie combo platter to share. It says on the menu that it serves 2 people, but I think it could serve up to 3-4. I highly recommend the platter because of the variety of dishes you can try. Each were so flavorful and paired well with the injera on the side. I would definitely be coming back!

I recently visited Seattle for the ESFNA tournament, and I have to say--Agelgil is hands down the best Ethiopian restaurant in the city. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious--just like a home-cooked meal. But what truly sets Agelgil apart are standout dishes like their Dulet and sizzling Shekla Tibs--both absolutely off the charts in taste and presentation. To top it all off, the brother-and-sister co-owners, Danny and Rahel, bring a level of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like family. Their energy and kindness are the perfect complement to a truly unforgettable dining experience. If you're ever in Seattle, Agelgil is a must. Sammy from LA

So much delicious food that's easily shareable! The injera was lightly fermented and fluffy, the veggie and meat dips were umami, each bringing a different flavor to the table. A standout was also the samosa-like appetizers we got, super flaky and crisp, while spiced perfectly. "You know it's legit when there are uncles chilling the background" - Ethiopian friend

Agelgil is absolutely delicious, a great value, and has very friendly staff. The veggie/meat combo is amazing - 15 separate dishes including the injera!

This was my first time eating at Agelgil Restaurant, the food was good, the service was great and the price was right for 5 of my family member and the coffee was of the chain! If you haven't visited yet I advised you to go and check it out for a new food experience!

Lively ambiance and good food. Went on a Saturday evening and People start coming in at around 7-7:30. Restaurant was full. A lot of the patrons looked Ethiopian so you know that means it passes their taste test. We got the meat and veggie combo dish and it was good. Also Looks like they have a stage for performers, not sure what nights they have live performances though. We finished the meal with the coffee ceremony which was a nice end to the meal.

Food and service were wonderful! The veggie combo was incredible, and more than enough food for one person. So glad our cab driver recommended this place!

Its not everyday I run across places with such sour injera, but it just mixes so well with all the juices it soaks up. I would show you my food, but we devoured it too fast. Be ware of parking, its just bad with only 1 or 2 spots out front. Which means your gonna have to walk about 1 to 2 blocks. When you get there you might walk right past it and end uo snooping around the club next door like it did. When you do find it, you feel like Harry Potter did when he found that hidden alley. I also wish I took photos but, its too small and there were too many customers. I didnt want to invade anyone's intimate dinning privacy. Unfortunately for me I ordered my food ahead of time. No complaints about the veggie combo, but the meat combo only has two types of meat and is otherwise all veggie/lentil. You'll get better value and variety at other spots for the same price. The combo came with a beautiful spread of veggies--cabbage, greens, split peas, lentils, and beets--along with the beef wat I selected as my meat. Everything was packed with flavor, perfectly spiced, and the portion size was just right. The presentation was thoughtful even through delivery, which is not always the case with takeout. One of the best parts? They offer gluten-free injera! That made the whole experience even better. The price itself was very fair for the amount of food you get, but like most delivery apps, the UberEats fees made the total much higher than expected. Still, the quality and flavor made it worth it. I'd love to visit Adey in person to get the full experience and ambiance when I'm here again! Since I was in town for work and too tired to go out, I specifically looked for a Black-owned restaurant that delivered, and I'm so happy I found Adey. Delicious food, great portions, and care put into every detail--I'll definitely order again next time I'm in Seattle!

The service was a little slow, but again, it was busy and there were only two people taking orders and serving. With this in mind, our food came out relatively fast. The bathroom area was also a little neglected during this busy rush with none of the sinks having paper towels, so I had to use napkins at the table to dry my hands while waiting for our food. I got an Ethiopian beer, the Zagol combo, and the lamb yebeg tibs. Everything was flavorful and paired well with the injera. The portions were pretty generous. Our meal came with 3 side injera on top of the injera plating all the veggies and meat. Between two people, we had leftovers, but a lot of it is a the injera used for plating. I wish the zagol combo had one more meat option in it, but the addition of the lamb dish was perfect. Definitely try the lamb yebeg tips because it was my favorite out of all, and we got it spicy. There's also a meat combo option on the menu as well if more meat is wanted. The beer is light and paired well with the bold flavors of these dishes. Overall I would come back again. A lot of tables had tea and I would like to try that next time.

We went on a Saturday around 7pm and were able to get a table quickly. The parking situation is a bit tricky as from our visit, we were only able to find neighborhood streetside parking on a narrow street that made maneuvering difficult. As for the restaurant, it wasn't too busy when we went - maybe about 2 other parties at the time. The restaurant itself felt very cozy and homey, as you could see from the other interior photos. Service is alright - we seated ourselves and called for the auntie who owned the restaurant to get our order in. We got our food in about 10 minutes, pretty fast considering it was basically only people manning the restaurant. We got the vegetable platter with Yegee Tibs in the middle, which came to about $50. This platter is generous in terms of food, with excellent variety, which I love about Ethiopian food. This was more than enough food to fill us up with leftovers for about one more meal. As for the ingredients on the platter, I thought the injera was delicious - yeasty and robust enough to hold any of the entrees. All of the vegetables on the platter were soft, but had good integrity - it wasn't mushy and was seasoned nicely. The Yegee Tibs was scrumptious, nicely seasoned lamb with a savory aftertaste. This, combined with the vegetable sides was divine. Unfortunately, we wanted to order the Quanta Firfir, but they were out when we went - we definitely will pay Meskel another visit to give that dish a try! (4.5 stars)
