Absolutely the best Ethiopian food I've EVER had, and I've had Ethiopian food from DC to here, and I was completely blown away! Got the veggie combo, there were so many things on it! Usually, you get 3 maybe 4 different kinds of veggie dish on a veggie combo. This had 4 different kinds of lentils, a carrot and potato salad that was amazing, and a collard greens dish, and one other veggie medley. And everything was more flavorful that I've ever had, so so rich! And I asked for spice on the side, and they brought me 3 different types of spice. Blown away, it was packed for a reason! My Cousins friend recommended this Ethiopian Restaurant so we decided to give it a try. Parking is not so good, very small lot right in front of the Restaurant. You can park along Cherry street. The Waitress asked us to seat ourselves. After seating ourselves we waited about 10 minutes before she made eye contact with my Cousin and brought is Water and or Menus. The Waitress seemed to be involved with the Customers who were seated in the Bar Area. Right when we were getting ready to leave the Owner and Chef Daniel came and greeted us and took our orders. I ordered the Chiken Stew/ Doro Wot 10/10 My Cousin ordered the Cubed Chicken with Spinach 10/10 I asked Daniel if my meal was Spicy and he stated it wasn't. It was to me and he actually came back to check on me and asked if it were Spicy to me and when I said yes he offered to bring me something to cut the Spice. He brought me a plate of mashed Chickpeas with Cubes Chicken and Spinach and to my surprise it helped and it was Delicious. We enjoyed the meat and veg combo for lunch. A generous portion. There were standouts including the yellow and orange split pea and lentils. Yum. Also really appreciated the pickled veggies, potato and carrot. One of the meat dishes was grisly, though had a good flavor, and the one in the middle was my fav, dark in color and complex and rich in flavor. I expected Ethiopian dishes to be spicier and I asked about that as everything seemed mild. The server responded all their dishes have this mild level of spice. We went here for some lunch with some friends over the weekend and I was shocked about how much of their menu changed since the new owner took over. They have completely transformed not just the menu but the place as well. They have remodeled the restaurant and hired new people. The servers were friendly, detailed oriented and courteous. I'm still missing my LA Ethiopian food, as it was my first experience and set the standard for the rest. This place comes close with great service with a smile, fast food prep, yummy injera and veggie platter ($15), and FANTASTIC sambusas ($2.50 each). So why not 5 stars? We needed more injera than we were given, and the veggie platter was smaller than the ones I have had elsewhere and had 1-2 fewer piles of lentils/veggies. (Plus I still believe sambusas need some kind of chutney or salsa on the side, although that is not the norm at Ethiopian places in my experience.) A ethiopian GEM hidden in a indistinctive block of buildings that served me one of the best wot dishes in seattle. This is located in an area with a lot of ethiopian restaurants. It is in an easy to miss building with darkened windows that stop people from noticing the amazing food that they serve inside. Inside there is a nice open area with clean tables and bunch of TV. This area was actually bigger than what i was expecting. Between me and my partner we ordered the Shiro Wot and Doro Wot. They were so good that we wolfed down three entire injera and two entire servings of the spicy tangy berbere filled gravy. I have tried 6 ethiopian places around seattle. Undoubtedly one of top three for shiro Wot and one of the top 2 for doro wot. I wish they could add some more presentation to their serving hall and the dish. But I am coming again ...!!! read more

Stopped in here last night for Ethiopian food. I haven't eaten Ethiopian food in years, so was delighted to eat it. The server was very nice, and even offered us some complimentary honey wine freshly made from her mother. The food took awhile to come out, but that's too be expected due to the freshness of the ingredients and the cooking time needed to make the food. Absolutely fantastic food, massive portions and packed really well to go. The meat combo contains a ton of different kinds of meats and veggies. Every single thing we had was really good. The meat dishes are extremely flavorful and hearty. The veggies are fresh and delicious. The portion size lasted my wife and me for two full meals and a breakfast after that so do keep that in mind when you order. The injera was better than many other places and even kept well in the fridge overnight. After a couple of our favorite Ethiopian restaurants in the city closed down, we've been on the lookout for a spot and I think we might have finally found one. The weekend is a great time for an Ethiopian feast. I tried the Deluxe meat and veggie combo from Agelgil Ethiopian in the Central District, and it was spectacular. Ok, fine, more spectacular dine-in than flattened in takeout boxes during the pandemic, but think of the colors, spices, flavors, and textures! Enjoying Ethiopian food takeout style is definitely a bit different, but we got 5 huge injera loaded with 7 different types of veggies and 5 different types of meat. Then you just lay everything out on your kitchen island and feast! Every item was so well spiced and delicious. This dinner for two can easy feed 4-6 people, but I don't regret upgrading to the deluxe combo so we could try everything. Good food with horrible service. Let me preface this by saying that I am also a food service worker so I completely understand the annoyance that can come along with the job, but I also believe that regardless of how you personally feel, your job as a food server is to provide great service! I came with three other people, two out of towners, and my partner. I had come to this place two years ago when I first visited Seattle, and since then, I was convinced this was the best Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle. It's not. When our server came, she did not greet us warmly or with any semblance of wanting us (or herself) to be there. I asked for a substitution of the beef in the combo plate to chicken because one person did not eat any red meat. She stared directly at my friends face for 10 seconds, clearly deciding whether or not we could do that. There would have been no issue if no substitutions were allowed; we simply would have ordered a-la-carte. But there was an issue with her attitude and demeanour while staring at my friend, and when she finally said yes to the sub, she sighed and sucked her teeth as if it was a problem. It felt like after that point she just had an issue with us because she barely said two words to us. Everyone's mood was put off by her and honestly, it made the food taste worse. Don't get me wrong, the place has good food, but a place with good food AND good service? That's a winner. read more
