So good. Was craving quality Ethiopian for a date night and it did not disappoint. Quick service, amazingly friendly staff, and great prices. Such a cute little spot in Madrona, will be back.

Standard brunch place with mimosas. Breakfast was right portioned, taste of everything was good.

Cute little cafe in the beautiful neighborhood downtown Madrona! We came on a Sunday morning where they were serving breakfast. Nice, light, healthy breakfast items. Got the French Press Coffee ($5) - would not recommend, very tart and bitter. Also tried the smoked salmon sandwich ($13) - very large pieces of toast with a small amount of filling. Sad the salmon wasn't actually smoked! The daily smoothie ($5.75) was fine but very small. The strawberry jam on the table is awesome. Staff is great. I would like to come again and try their Ethiopian dishes.

I popped in Soleil for dinner after having drinks nearby at Bottlehouse. I love Ethiopian food but have only had it at hole in the wall places in central district. I asked for help picking the 3 sides For the pick 3 vegetarian dish. I got the yellow lentil, chard and spicy red lentil. It was so much food you can definitely share with another person. But also.. I basically finished it. It was soooo good ! I will definitely be back. It seemed to be family owned and a really sweet woman came by to see how I liked everything. After seeing pics on Yelp I want to try their brunch too!

This is a review for brunch, which is absolutely a worthwhile stop. We had delicious breakfasts on the patio, including a pot of ginger tea --- which was really just like a pound of fresh ginger infused in hot water - YUM. We sat outside where the tables were a bit small but for the two of us it worked out fine. The coffee and food were both fresh. Definitely a worthy spot for a good weekend breakfast!

Saturday special: Cheese tortellini basil and mozzarella scramble 10/10 -- delicious !

Warm, attentive and welcoming staff! they were so lovely. First time trying it and I had an amazing experience taking myself out for brunch and peacefully reading my book at Café Soleil. I ordered the special of the day--a Cheese tortellini basil and mozzarella scramble, and it was delicious ! Definitely coming here again.

Pasta with Spinach and Fresh Tomato (good portion, small but comfortably filling)

I love Cafe Soleil, everything from the interior to the food to the service. I came with my parents on a Sunday afternoon an hour before they closed to set up for dinner. The inside is very beautiful, a lot of sunlight and older decor that creates a very welcoming and comfortable environment, I liked it a lot. It's perfect for a nice date. The food itself was very good as well. They were unfortunately out of salmon, but we came after their lunch rush so it was understandable. I ended up ordering their Pasta with spinach and Fresh Tomatoes, a nice serving with very fresh ingredients. It was very tasty and the bread they served the pasta with was also delicious. I will most definitely have to come back and try their Pasta with salmon and red sauce (my first choice). My parents' meals were also very good and they enjoyed it a lot. Service was very welcoming and friendly. We were greeted by a very kind woman and Tony was our waiter/server who helped us out during our meal. Tony was awesome, his warm and inviting hospitality was the cherry on top of our dining experience. Thanks Cafe Soleil!

    French Toast

Great food, I ordered the French toast and it was so delicious I forgot to take a photo until I had already ate one. The service was also great, our waiter was very kind and attentive and we were able to get his attention easily. The vibe of the shop is also great, it is nice but not very busy and I went on Sunday at brunch time. I also had a smoothie and the hot chocolate. Both were great and I would recommend.

So yummy! Will definitely be coming back. Staff were so nice. Food was great and flavorful -- tons of great savory options and some sweet ones.

"Quaint brunch spot that draws in the locals." Hidden in the small neighborhood of Madrona is a small brunch spot that seems to gather a lot of attention. The place seats about 30 people and the menus and specials are simple and straight forward. Seats immediately filled up and we saw other patrons being turned away. There are specials listed on the walls and our server explained some of the most popular items on the menu. I ordered an Ethiopian press and the basil, tomato, and Parmesan frittata. Food took about 50 minutes to serve and I noticed there was only one person in the kitchen and 2 servers. The French press arrived before the food. Sadly I was not provided any creamer. The frittata arrived few minutes later. The eggs were perfectly done, the potatoes were well-seasoned and the serving portion was more than adequate. There a few things to consider when visiting Cafe Soleil. I recommend coming early to avoid the huge brunch crowd. At the time of our visit the service and the food was very slow. We had sat down before a couple other groups and was served last. I plan on returning to see if the experience is any different and will update this review accordingly.

CAGETTE WINE BAR: WHERE CABERNET MEETS CABLE CROSSES…read more Listen, while other wine bars in Madison Valley are busy being pretentious about their French pronouns, Cagette has transformed itself into the Gold's Gym of grape juice. Their sommelier doesn't just wear a tastevin around his neck - he wears it WITH A WEIGHTLIFTING BELT. The wall of vintage Gold's Gym Venice Beach photos mixed with First Growth Bordeaux bottles is nothing short of INSPIRATIONAL. Arnold's famous posed double bicep shot is perfectly positioned between the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Barolo section, creating what they call the "Pump & Pour" corner. Their wine flights are served on custom metal trays shaped like weight plates. The "Franco Columbu Collection" of Italian reds arrives on a mini bench press rack, and you have to complete three reps before they'll pour your Brunello. The dedication to the aesthetic is STAGGERING. You haven't lived until you've experienced their "Muscle Beach Merlot Mondays" where the sommelier spots you through a vertical tasting while shouting encouragement like "LIGHTWEIGHT BABY" and "AIN'T NOTHING BUT A PEANUT" between sips. Their wine descriptions include both tasting notes AND the optimal rep range for maximum gains. The "Lou Ferrigno Lounge" area features leather seats made from recycled weightlifting belts, and every wine glass has grip knurling. Their coasters are miniature versions of the original Gold's Gym logo, and they refuse to serve anything less than full-bodied wines because "light wines are for WIMPS." Their "Pumping Iron" wine club (which meets in what they call The Dungeon, a clear homage to the original Gold's basement) requires members to deadlift their wine allocation before taking it home. The sight of someone clean-and-jerking a case of Grand Cru Burgundy is both terrifying and beautiful. Five stars for creating a space where wine snobs and gym bros can finally coexist in perfect harmony. I've witnessed heated debates about both proper squat form AND proper wine storage temperature, often in the same conversation. P.S. Their "No Pain No Pour" policy seems strict, but you haven't lived until you've seen someone do burpees for a better pour of Barolo. P.P.S. The bathroom mirrors are positioned at optimal flexing angles, and the hand soap dispensers are shaped like dumbbells. ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Note: This review was written while watching their sommelier demonstrate proper clean-and-jerk form using a methuselah of champagne as a training weight. Special Addendum: To the customer who complained about the mandatory flex pose before entering the reserve wine room - this is about CULTURE, Karen. Final Thought: Never has there been a more perfect fusion of fine wine and fitness culture. It's like if Joe Weider opened a wine bar and Franco Columbu was the beverage director. Remember: Every wine glass comes with its own "PR" (Personal Record) tracking card, and yes, they do measure your wine lifting form. No kipping allowed on the Bordeaux pulls. Warning: Side effects may include excessive use of phrases like "crushing it," "lightweight baby," and "yeah buddy" while discussing vintage vertical tastings. P.P.P.S. Their new "Swole Somm Certification" program requires both blind tasting skills AND a minimum bench press requirement. As it should.

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. There was a TON of almond filling in the middle. I enjoyed the taste and texture but it was too much filling for me personally. I would have liked more croissant in my croissant, so to say haha. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.

A very cute, cozy and comfy cafe in Central District! That being said, good luck finding parking…read morefor this place as street parking gets atrociously full around most times of the day, including Friday night around 8pm. Back to my rave: this place is comfy and a great place to just sit in when it's chilly outside. There's a comfy couch near the entrance, many knickknacks strewn around the inside and it's brightly lit to the point where you feel like you're at home instead of a cafe. The owner of the place is very sweet and welcoming, and the pastries shown around the area looked so delicious. For this visit, my friend and I got the Thai green tea latte, key lime tea, egg tart and a slice of tiramisu crepe cake. The egg tart was warm and yummy, and quite big too so it has a mochi-like layer inside it. The tiramisu crepe cake had tons of layers of crepe and cream along with the tiramisu powder sprinkled on top. This was creamy, delightful and calming all around, that's how good this cake was! My key lime tea is a mix of Thai tea and fresh lime juice, and I'm surprised that neither part interfered with each other too much given one is sweet and the other relatively sour. The Thai green tea latte was just as great to drink. This place is so cozy and cute, and the owner gave us great service. When you do find parking, come here for some drinks and desserts, it'll be worth it!

Strawberry Snowie Frappe - it's a solid dessert. Very sweet and likely double blended because it's not super icy, rather the liquid collects at the bottom. However the icy blend at the top wasn't watery either, there was still some flavor. Overall, it was as expected, but a decent refresher on this street.
