It's overrated. There's better ice cream in Rome. Yes? the many flavors are great to see but the flavor and texture is not there. Service is friendly, quite busy.

Well, I was impressed with the abundance of flavors and the attractiveness of the displays. It was rather funny that the male cashier read my mind, and handed me the ticket that corresponded with what I wanted. We laughed as he admitted, "It's my job." In contrast to one reviewer who felt the staff was rude, my experience was the exact opposite. For such a busy place, I had no issues with the staff. Now, many of the clientele need to learn some basic manners, namely: Tone down the pushy, loud, demanding behavior, okay people? Acknowledge people who have clearly been waiting before your grand entrance. And have your choices ready so the rest of us can get on with our lives. I opted for the medium cup, and the servers managed to fill it fully with three flavors. The Chocolate Amaretto was the winner in my opinion. The Red Grape and the Peach were also tasty and refreshing on a hot Rome day.
We were on a walking tour and our guide brought us here. There are so many flavors! You buy your ice cream first and then bring your receipt to the counter and whichever flavors you want and there will be someone to help you. We ended up with mango and watermelon. The mango was delicious but the watermelon tasted very artificial. I wouldn't recommend watermelon. There are lots of flavors to choose from, so maybe we just chose an off one.
So many options (150!) and I got Nutella, amarena (black cherry) and sesame with honey Nutella is amazing!!! And so creamy. Love the service. The employees even made sure to check that we got our crepe that came later
Gelato itself was standard, come here to check out all 150 flavors! Expect many tourists -- a pretty well known spot in a bustling neighborhood!
Bella! This is definitely the grand dame of bakeries, coffee, gelato, candy extradorinaire! Come by any time of day and you always find a treat to please you. We enjoyed ordering and drinking our coffee at the bar. Don't forget to pay first and show your receipt for your items!
This little cup, pass my expectations by far. As small as the cup is, the flavor was truly exceptional the service was quick and easy. The amount of flavors you have to to choose from can be a little overwhelming, but I don't think that you can't mess up with any of them that they offered. I'm glad I chose the small cup because I think all size larger would've been too much.
We were lured in after seeing the sign that there were 150 flavors. We walked in and grabbed a ticket and waited our turn. Even though there was a long line, we were in and out within 15 minutes. Definitely a lot of people and an exciting ambiance. Lots of people surrounding the store eating their gelato. Got the milk rice which was creamy and also had a nice crunch to it. Definitely one of the more unique flavors I've had. Wasn't a huge fan of the cheesecake, but it was solid!
We stayed at an Airbnb right above this gelateria and I went there every single day during our 5 night stay in Rome to try all the different flavors. They have so many different flavors too! With the cone you can get three flavors to try and with a small cup you can get two flavors. They also have other items like crepes and macarons. I got their macarons as well and they were good! I loved all the different flavors I tried except for the dragonfruit. That one was not for me. My favorites were the watermelon and there was also one that tasted just like the ferrero rocher chocolate. When you first walk in, head to the counter on the right hand side to pay for what you want to order and you will get a ticket. Then you take the ticket to the gelato counter and they will help you with choosing the flavors in your cone or cup. At first this was confusing to me since I'm used to walking up to the gelato counter, getting the gelato, and then heading to pay. But this made a lot of sense for high volume tourist area. The gelato was so dense and so flavorful! Absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend trying this place!! Staff is super friendly!
150 flavors in this gelateria! The inside of the store looks like it could be straight out of Willy Wonka with bright lights and sweets all around. Even though the shop was filled with lots of customers, the servers were very good at keeping track of the orders. To order, you need to pay for your gelato first with the cashier then take your ticket to a server behind the gelato counter. We ordered a medium for 4€ which came with three scoops. Pomegranate: tangy, sweet, and was more of a sorbet consistency Macaron: this flavor had pieces of macaron in the gelato, but it was a little too sweet Cheese and fig: our favorite of the three flavors--the cheese and fig complemented each other very well Personally, I preferred the texture and service from smaller gelato shops. But if you are looking for unique flavors, this is a good option.
This was actually my favorite gelato place that I've tried so far during my trip to Rome in the past couple of weeks. I believe they are known for having 150 flavors. There are also many desserts and candies such as macarons, tiramisu, cakes, etc. I wanted to try all of it and come back for more but my stomach could only handle so much. The servers were kind and fulfilled my request of having some whipped cream and a logo on top of my ice cream haha.

So many options, you really can't go wrong here! I love the Kinder Bueno, with Nutella Swirl as a close second. This Gelateria is a massive store, often packed with dozens of people. Don't expect to be able to sit down. The sign says it's been here since 1978, but this was my fourth visit to Rome and I'd never seen it before. I did feel slightly bad going to what seemed like a modern Gelateria instead of Giolitti, but wanted to try something new. read more

So good! Pricey, but worth it if you want to have the best gelato in town. This place is well known for having over 150 different flavors of Gelato. Sadly, only 6 of those flavors are dairy free/vegan, but that covers both fruit and chocolate/vanilla options. I loved my two scoops of soy chocolate and soy hazelnut! Employees are very nice as well. read more

With 150 flavors to choose from, there is something for everyone! Vegans included - they had 5 soy-based flavors to choose from when I visited. Remember - pay first at the register, then go to the counter to pick your favors. They let you try them, too! read more
I've tried many gelato stores in Rome but this one is one of my favorites because it has soo many flavors to choose from and the flavors were spot on! Sadly I only tried 2 flavors but they were really good. The gelato was soft and creamy. I would come back and am really sad I didn't go back while I had the chance :( read more

The granddaddy of massive selection gelato. They've expanded the original store to the corner, and guzzied up the place to be truly grand and commercialized. The prices are up as well, and they only take credit card payment for purchases over €5 that you can easily exceed in here! Off season visit, as you can see it's pretty empty. read more
Delicious! And so many flavors to choose from (150+). I had Giolitti first and the next day tried this, and I liked the flavors I had here way better (with the exception that I think the pistachio at Giolitti was better). In my opinion, the quality of gelato was not sacrificed with the abundant quality offering. I also like how they present the flavors by placing the main ingredient in front. The staff was also more friendly than other gelato places, granted I went after late dinner when there weren't as many people so I can imagine it being more hectic during popular times. This will be the gelato place I remember when I return to Rome. read more
Pistachio was their best flavor, good thing I asked the worker for suggestions. Mango I can never go wrong with either. They had so many flavors to choose from. I still think Giolitti's is the better and best tasting gelato though. read more
So many flavors! Can't go wrong with any gelato place in Italy but this store has more flavors than you can imagine. Got the small size which was plenty for a snack, brownie and Oreo (you always get at least two flavors). In Italy, go to the register to pay first, then take your receipt to the bar and they'll scoop it for you. read more

I won't say this is the best gelato in Rome, but it is pretty good and the selection of flavors is very unique! If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a gelato shop/bar/restaurant where you can get off your feet for a bit, this is a great option read more

While not my favorite gelato in Rome, it is a good option close to the Pantheon. I'm usually very wary of gelato shops that have an abundance of flavors, because usually they are more about quantity rather than quality, but Gelateria Della Palma was a pleasant surprise. With something like 150 flavors, it's not the best gelato you will find in Rome but is a nice treat in such a touristic area. Tip: make sure to go to the register and pay before heading to the counter! read more

Wow!!! If you are in Rome you MUST have gelato here. There are 150 flavors of gelato to choose from... no, I'm not kidding. Each flavor is better than the next. Be prepared, this place is pretty busy. The popularity solidifies that it's just that good. You can try flavors but be mindful because it is busy. Because it's so busy there is a system. First, enter and walk towards the candy on the right hand side of the shop. Here, there is a menu with size options and prices. Pay here first. Next, take your receipt to the gelato counter and order your gelato. The flavors that stood out for me the most were the fruit flavors. They actually tasted like fruit. My favorite was the fig gelato, but again, anything you get will be delicious. read more

Prepare to be wow'ed! They say they have 150 flavours and they are not kidding. I didn't count them, but a quick guess is that it was 130, at least. First you decide how much you can eat... Or how much you will allow yourself to eat... Pay the cashier and go to the ice cream display to get your flavours. I would recommend to combine relevant flavours and not be carried away by endless possibilities. I had basil, bounty and a chocolate with peanuts. Poor basil ice cream. After tasting the Bounty the basil was almost tasteless. The ice cream is good, and yes actually really good. But not the best I had in Rome. And for me it was a bit to hectic to be really enjoyable. But 4 stars for the actual ice cream, not for the shop or the atmosphere. read more

This was probably the worst gelato place I've gone to. First, you need to pay for the gelato before picking your flavor. So go to the cash register and pick out your gelato size. Then you go to the gelato counter and tell the person what flavors you want. We ordered a small.. More like an xx-small. It came with two tiny scoops of gelato. We picked a milliefrugio (however it's spelled) mouse and a Nutella gelato. They didn't taste that great. So it was the worst 2.50€ we've spent. I recommend going to Frigidarium! They give you generous scoops of gelato! And they have better flavors!! read more
There are more than 150 flavors according to the advertisement. There are indeed lots of choices both ice cream and sorbet. The pistachio and amarena are both just so-so; in fact, the pistachio was quite disappointing. There's no nutty pistachio taste at all. The strawberry sorbet was decent. However, this is just a hyped up place. There are plenty better gelateria around in Rome. At least there's free wifi. Go to the nearby Giolitti for actually good gelato. read more
Buenasera! I visited this location a few days ago after a night out in the city. This is a very popular location with tons of tourists, didn't seem to matter the time there was always a line! The entrance is very welcoming with a wide variety of candy. You must pay for your gelato before ordering, the cashier will give you a receipt and you have to take it behind the counter. The first time, it was very crowded and I did not bother asking to try flavors. So I am not sure if sampling is allowed. During this visit I tried the strawberry and chocolate. The strawberry was very refreshing not too sweet. Chocolate on the other hand was very rich! Depending what mood your in, I would not recommend getting multiple scoops of it. On the second visit I ordered pineapple and strawberry. Pineapple also very refreshing and it also had chunks of pineapple in, pleasant to bite into. I would definitely recommend making a trip here. read more

The best place to go to have my very first gelato ever. It's in a small alley way but the store is large and the selection seem endless. They had a flavor for every type of person. Everyone was super nice and friendly. Had a latte and three scopes of gelato. Must do the lemon and snicker flavor for sure. read more

Absolutely excellent! Whole section of soy icecream a (not just gelati that has no milk in, actual icecream) with lots of flavour choices. Texture was perfect. I had a scoop each of strawberry and chocolate. Neither was overly sweet (positive in my book) and chocolate was rich and creamy. There is list of ingredients on the soy cabinet (in Italian so know your allergies in Italian). I've had no problem so far being dairy intolerant. They are sweetened with fructose so you're out of luck if you have the double allergy but as far as I remember no gluten. Service was not friendly but still attentive. I'll be trying to go back! read more
A beautiful sweet shop close to the Pantheon. The have 150 flavors of gelato. In the adjacent room, tons of desserts. The pistachio tiramisu was divine. Husband ordered chocolate cake with marmalade filling and cheesecake. Visiting this shop was perfect after a day of strolling around the eternal city. read more

My second favorite gelato shop after Giolitti. They have a ridiculous amount of flavors here and I like how they don't mind if you take a seat on their benches and enjoy your gelato. Steps away from the Pantheon so a convenient place to stop if you are in the area. read more
So many options! They had so many flavors and not just only the traditional kind. I wanted to try a weird one, which was basil. Very weird flavor. We ended up getting something chocolate and something fruity. We enjoyed it a lot! read more

This is my first Italy review, and what better way to start by reviewing a place that serves one of the most popular desserts in Italy: gelato. This place was recommended to me by an American currently living in Rome and he suggested this place to me if I wanted to get some gelato or coffee. Despite the somewhat negative reviews that the local Italians have on this place, I actually liked eating the gelato here, and the sandwiches they serve in the cafe are not bad and probably the most inexpensive I could find during my short visit to Rome. One thing I am really impressed is the selection of gelato. This is probably the biggest place I have been to with a huge gelato selection, probably more than 40 flavours. Unfortunately, based on my experience, the staff told me that I cannot sample any of the flavours for free before ordering. If they could offer that, it could be a great place to get gelato. The staff can speak English. The flavours I got were the Crema Primavera and the Stracciatella al Cioccolato. The Crema Primavera is a mix of gelato and probably some cake batter and Strawberries. The Stracciatella al Cioccolato is a vanilla gelato mixed with some chocolate fudge. I really liked the Strawberry shortcake and creamy taste of the Crema Primavera, The Stracciatella al Cioccolato was a little icy in the taste. I really liked the mix of chocolate and vanilla. There was a slight artificial aftertaste in the cream and the chocolate, but it was still a good gelato. The sandwiches are not bad here. I remember getting a grilled chicken sandwich with sliced roasted cucumbers on wheat bread. It was decently good, but the chicken lacked a little flavour and the bread needed to be a little fresher. If I came here for the sandwiches, I would have given this place 3 Stars out of 5. One great thing about this place is that it is located near the Pantheon, a major historic site you have to see in Rome after visiting the Vatican, Colosseo, the Forum, and the Fontana di Trevi. Overall, I thought I had some of the most unique gelato I had compared to the gelato I had back home, despite what the local Italians have said about this place. It's definitely better than the gelato back in Boston but I think a lot of tourists come here. Will I come back here again if I come back to Rome? If the local Roman Italian population could suggest to me better places in Rome for great and inexpensive gelato and sandwiches. read more

For a place that has over 150 flavors of gelato I wasn't expecting much. However, Gelateria Della Palma offered delicious scoops of gelato, no matter what flavor you got (except for a funky peanut butter, but kudos to them for catering to our weird American tastes). I had stracciatella, coffee, and giandujia, and loved every bite. There are seats all over the store if you want to enjoy your ice cream inside, and also ample space to just stand and eat. Downsides are the workers are a bit gruff, the scoops aren't as generous as other gelaterias, and you have to pay to use the bathroom. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our experience with Gelateria Della Palma. read more
Not the best gelato that I've had in Roma but it's good and everyone visits for the idea that there are so many flavors to choose from. You can tell I got down to it as my photo shows an already half-eaten cone of gelato, I'll definitely go again when I'm in Italy but just for the fun of showing friends all the possible flavors to choose from. read more

Amazing gelato. Was recommended by local friends. Great price for the unbelievable amount, taste, and quality of gelato offered- given that you got a medium cone at least. It's a little hectic and crowded while you order, but as long as you know what flavors you want, you'll be helped by the quick service. read more

Oh my god, Italian gelato, where have you been all my life????!!!??? This place is so fun. It's attached to a humongous candy store so it's obviously a hotspot for parents to take their kids. I ordered a medium moose cup. They let you fill it with three flavors so I picked Tiramisu, Nocciola and Rafaello. I was planning to walk back to our hotel a few blocks away and eat there but it was so good I finished it by the time I reached the end of the street. Don't judge me!! If you're fortunate enough to get gelato at this place you'll understand! read more

Sooooo many gelato choices! After so many choices, the nine that we tasted hit us in just the right way. Best of all is Lee-J who was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. He is the kind of person that you take an immediate liking to. Not only that, but he also gave us little hints and opinions towards his favorite flavors.
