I had an appointment with Marc who gave me a really great haircut. He is very professional and very nice too. He listens and knows what he is doing. Marc is an excellent hairdresser and I can only recommend him. I am very pleased to have found him because I am new to this area and sometimes it is hard to find a good hairdresser. The salon is very nice too, it is clean and the receptionist was friendly. I came in 15 minutes earlier than my appointment was and I only waited 4 minutes. I came in for a haircut and I came out wanting to cry. I asked for a haircut with layers and I showed the hair stylist many pictures that he could use for reference. He washed my hair which was nice and he seated me down to get my haircut. He started snipping away at my hair and my hair was pretty long in the beginning and I wanted the length to be below the shoulders. The hair cutting process took him only 10 minutes and I didn't realize how bad the layers were until he blow dried my hair. The layers are super choppy and poorly done. I am the type of person to not complain and I didn't tell him that the haircut was not what I wanted. That is my own mistake but I felt that this haircut was HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY overpriced and I regret the whole visit. read more

After trying many salons over the years, I have finally found a stylist who actually knows what to do with my hair. I have been a client here for many years now and have always, always been very happy with the results; the cut as well as the color. Charbel knows just how to make the color look so natural and my hair now always looks so healthy and shiny. He also prides himself on staying on schedule so when you come in with an appointment, he is always right on time. I come here quickly when I'm in a rush due to work and everyone is always nice and accommodating. I've gone to Benny twice and in about 10 minutes she can give me a really nice haircut. I also want to give her props for the first time because she fixed my hair, after I had cut it myself, and she didn't even judge me or anything, bc I was embarrassed doing something a professional should be doing. I am very picky when it comes to who can touch and change my hair. I've been having my hair done for years and I like it a certain way and certain color. My last visit with Diana was absolutely amazing. She took time and care for my hair and made sure I was well aware of what she was doing in the entire process. She asked the entire time whether I liked it or not which I loved how she was coloring it and she made sure I was comfortable with every step. I recommend going here for your next hAir appointment. Thanks for cutting off four inches of my hair when I asked for a trim. Extra thanks for ignoring my layers which is what I really wanted trimmed in the first place. And double kudos for not taking the time to ask me what I wanted done overall. I came out looking like the mom from The Family Circus cartoon, when I'd have been much happier if I came out looking like, say, Dog the Bounty Hunter. I'm not even that angry about the cut because it is just hair and it does grow out, but I am miffed that the stylist did not ask me what I meant by "trim" because as I've since found out that word is open to many different interpretations. This is what I get for being desperate for a cut on a Sunday. I made my appointment for a Sunday at 4pm and wasn't seen until 430. The stylist didn't apologize but that didn't irk me. I was hoping that she was some mad genius with the shears. No. Wrong. I had seen her with her client before me and she was nice and chatty but I guess she was tired by the time she got to me because it was like we were in a quiet contest. I tried to ask her some questions and just got the feeling she was nervous so I laid off. After she removed most of my hair from me she offered to flat iron it, only to tell me two minutes later that she forgot her flat iron. No big deal, because I wanted to get the hell out of there anyway. By the time I got out it was 10 past 5. Now, I don't have forty minute hair, any day of the week. And when I looked over to her to see if she was available for me to give her a tip she was running around cleaning her stuff up to leave. I guess the reason she was nervous was not because of the challenge of cutting my hair, but because she had a ride or had to grab a bus? Either way, I tipped the usual 20% but I know I won't be going back there. In the end I just felt bad for her. I hope she gets more comfortable with her craft and workplace. I walked in to the salon today to see if I could talk to someone about options for my blonde highlight Gone wrong. My hair was like 4 different colors and had horrible reddish tones in it. I was immediately sat down by Kevin who was absolutely amazing. He completely transformed my hair to exactly what I wanted it to be. I went to this salon semi regularly for 4-5 years. I usually kept the same stylist, but for last minute appointments I would take anyone. I never had an amazing experience, had one horrible experience, and most of the time was just average. Not all the stylists are on the same level, more training and education would help even out the playing field. The girl that used to work the desk was great and when they replaced her they found someone equally as professional and polite. But for $50, I really expected to be in the chair from wash to blow dry more than 20 minutes. A shoulder length style with layers is a normal haircut but always came out too heavy even with the layers. The place was always very clean though and their product line was top shelf. Also, because of the large staff there are always open appointments. If I went back to a Dellaria, it would be the Kenmore location. read more

Just don't go here. I read the reviews before coming here and I was like, "it's a mall salon, can't be that bad". It is, it really is. I got my roots touched up and a hair cut. I have blonde hair and dark roots. Collette was not sure of what she was doing and told me she was going to try to make my roots not come out orange...great. They came out brassy which I hate. Then on to the hair cut...my hair is a bit past my shoulders and I asked her to cut about an inch off. It currently touches the very topmost part of my collarbones. So an inch to her is like 3 or 4. I couldn't even put my hair in a ponytail for a few weeks! I feel like everyone who works here has no idea what they are doing and they just hope for the best before attacking your hair. I came to the salon because I wanted to get blonde highlights. My first visit went ok, aside from the stylist (Lee) not knowing how to comb my hair correctly. I then went back in this past Thursday for another "session". I brought in numerous photos to give her an idea of what I wanted. My hair came out ORANGE. I ended up going back the next day so she could fix it, and the orange was gone, but my hair is grey, with a terrible brown tone to it! On top of that, as she was applying the toner she was MESSY and RUSHING! I walked out of there unhappy, and have no intentions on ever having her do my hair again. Never again! I came here to use a BuyWithMe.com deal: $75 for a Keratin Complex Blow Out valued at $150. I'd had full Keratin treatments before at other salons as well as the mini blow outs, so I decided that another Keratin blow out would be a good refresher, so I decided to take advantage of the deal. As soon as I walked in to Dellaria's from the mall, I felt uncomfortable, as the salon was dirty and just had a slimy, unprofessional feeling to it. Employees were standing around talking and it took a long time for them to notice me so I could check in.There was hair all over the floor, there was clutter everywhere, the lighting was cheap and ugly, and posters were haphazardly taped to the mirrors and walls; I felt like I was in someone's basement instead of steps away from the pretty, open mall corridor outside. When I made the appointment, I told them I was using my BuyWithMe.com voucher, and while checking in, I confirmed it again. I waited a long time and was finally greeted by Charbel. He talked with me briefly about what he was going to do and then brought me over for the first step, a clarifying shampoo. Not only was the water much too cool (not completely freezing, just not a warm or comfortable temperature - and he never asked me if the water temperature was okay) but his technique to shampoo the back of my head was to take handfuls of water from the spray and throw them up at the back of my neck! This caused water to trickle down the back of my shirt; when I got home a few hours later, the back of my bra and the back of my shirt down to the small of my back were still damp! He had to shampoo twice (customary with the Keratin treatment) and it was miserable. I couldn't wait for the treatment to be over. He used cheap tools and brushes and I definitely didn't feel like I was at a quality salon. Not only was I cold and damp from the shampoo, but Charbel wasn't careful about the way he put on the product (which has very strong fumes) and he often blew the fumes directly into my eyes with the blow dryer and put my hair over my eyes. He didn't know what he was doing and his lack of experience was obvious. I kept tearing up from the strong fumes of the product, and when he was done, my hair was actually more frizzy than when I walked in! The Keratin treatment is supposed to remove frizz, and my head not only had little hairs sticking up all over the place and was tangled in the back and at the bottom, but it smelled TERRIBLE. After my previous treatments, my hair had been stick-straight, completely frizz-free, and it smelled fine. This time around, my hair was a sticky, frizzy mess and I felt sick from the fumes every time I moved or turned my head. With this mini Keratin treatment, I needed to wait until the next morning to wash my hair, but the odor was so strong that I couldn't stand it and I washed my hair only a couple of hours later, both to get rid of the smell and the frizz. Because I'd had the treatment before, I knew something was wrong and I didn't care about the wasted money. As I washed my hair, it felt like heavy clumps in my hands and I couldn't get the sticky product or the odor out. I let it dry and I finally got the odor out completely a couple of shampoos and a couple days later, but it was a terrible experience and I felt absolutely disgusting. As Charbel was finishing up, he kept trying to sell me the Keratin brand shampoo/conditioner, telling me that I wouldn't maintain the style unless I bought the shampoo and conditioner. I declined, as trusted stylists had told me and I knew from experience that the treatment would last, as long as I used a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner (I use Pureology or Moroccan Oil), and I'd also read negative reviews of the Keratin shampoo and conditioner (that it left a filmy, heavy feel to the hair), so I declined to purchase them. Checking out, the receptionist didn't know that I had a BuyWithMe.com voucher, and originally told me my cost was $100, not $150, as was advertised on the website. She accepted my voucher, but I felt so cheated by the false advertising; I thought I was saving $75, and I only saved $25! Not cool, BuyWithMe.com and Dellaria! I will never go to Dellaria again for any kind of hair service. I couldn't believe how dingy and sketchy this location is. They need to clean up and get some friendly, experienced in there ASAP. read more

My stylist (Mark) knew that I was in a rush and did a great job in the 30 minutes that he had! The price was reasonable ($30) and I was happy with the result. I've gone to this salon twice for cuts. The first time my hair wasn't horrible but I didn't "love" it. The second time was just a couple days ago. I came in more prepared this past time. I had a picture of what I wanted and told her I wasn't sure what I wanted for my bangs but I definitely did want bangs. In the end my hair looks absolutely nothing like the picture. And no bangs. I didn't want to let her know and have her ruin it more so I acted pleased and left. I thought maybe I'd like it more in a couple days. Nope. I absolutely hate it. Looking at it makes me want to cry. I can't believe anyone would post a negative review of this Salon. I was in an accident and ended up with a huge bump on my forehead. I decided bangs might cover it. I called on Sunday and explained my situation. The receptionist said to come in within 1/2 hour and they would squeeze me in between scheduled appointments. JD not only cut perfect bangs to conceal my injury but gave me a blow out as well! When I went to pay they said NO CHARGE we were happy to help you out, hope you feel better soon! I walked out of the salon and wondered what just happened...the appt was the fastest I'd ever experienced (not in a good way). The stylist was pleasant, but very rough - her long nails were not pleasant on my scalp during the wash; after the wash, she brushed (not combed) my hair; to blow-dry, she ran her hands over my scalp and threw my hair around while blow drying, thus creating snarls that she yet again had to roughly brush out. I was not happy after leaving, and quite shocked that a stylist would treat her guest that way. read more

For the most part, my experiences here have been pleasant but sometimes my hair stylist has had her off days, like rushing my hair to do another clients hair. But I always leave with my hair silky and bouncing beautifully thanks to Lee. She always has me looking great when I leave the salon and the prices are pretty good to. I went with my sister this morning to get out hair cut since we were both starting school this week. They couldn't see us both at the same time but I let my sister go first while I went to take care of some things. By the time I got back she had already paid and it was my turn with a different stylist. We both asked for a wash, cut, and blowdry. However my sister's stylist charged her $65 dollars while I only paid $48. The only difference we could figure out was that my sister's stylist had done extra stuff to her hair without asking. If my sister had known it would be extra she would have declined. It seems honestly fishy they would do something like this and it makes me wonder if they have done this to anyone else. read more

I went to Dellaria last Saturday in Braintree. This was my second time there with Benny. I was in for a partial foil and cut. I have very short hair and I want a hairstylist that knows how to properly style short hairstyles on a young female. Benny immediately thought outside the box and said why don't we do a cap? I have never heard of it but it was very popular at one time. It was prefect for my hair and the color was much easier to put on and she did a great job! I would highly recommend this location as I have been to the Kenmore square location and the staff there are not nice or friendly. The staff and management at this Braintree location go out of their way to make sure the clients are taken care of properly. They are extremely friendly and I cannot wait to go back! Was not impressed with the place, did like the stylist and was looking forward to working with her. Place is nasty messy, towels are shabby, product line shallow, and to top it off misleading practices. Wanted the Coppola straightening, after my consultation with stylist which was very innocent, I had a color treatment, was told that I could have straightening (which all research states) right away but opted for 3 days later with blowout as recommended 3 days after that. We are talking $$$ of services in one week. Upon leaving salon I now have to sign a 3 page waiver stating basically that the salon or stylist is responsible for nothing if anything at all happens to my hair because she disclosed. Disclosed what? That my hair is perfect for it, that it is great, that she and the salon and all their adv. say it is great and safe. I asked for a copy and was told they would have to check with corporate. Needless to say neither I or the stylist was too happy about my return so I was all done, I already made another appt with a place that does not play stupid games. They are straightforward knowing that results are not gauranteed and that a form is not going to change responsbility and follow-up. The receptionist called this AM (surprised about that because I would not have opened that can of worms) and told me that corporate said I could not have the treatment because I got a color on Sat. The stylist, the literature, the testimonies all say before treatment-color -not after so this is just a smokescreen for we don't want to be responsibile and the paperwork indicates a different conversation than actually took place, so you know... Bottom line do your homework, go to someplace who has confidence in thier ability and thier services, and not hide behind a stupid contract that the client signs but does not get a copy of (they don' t have a copy machine?? there are other ways-it is 2010) and go to someplace clean anyway. My first visit was in December, for a trim and to touch up the roots. Based on this initial positive experience I returned the following month for cut/color and highlights. Big mistake! The stylist was clearly overbooked, and too hurried to do a quality job on the highlight. I have dark brown hair and left the salon with bright yellow and brassy orange clumps, looking more like a cheap Halloween wig then the fine medium tone highlights I normally have. The stylist must have realized he did a bad job because he kept trying to tuck some of the color clumps underneath and away from my face. This was nothing like I wear and when he slicked down my hair with wax, I knew something was wrong. I called the salon to express my displeasure. They really did not care, and were rather sarcastic because complained. Not worth the $200 unless you want to look like a circus clown. read more

I usually go to the same hairdresser(Newbury St, Boston) but didn't want to drive into the city, so I thought how bad could someone else at a different salon could screw up a blow dry, right??! WRONG! I had an appointment with Mimi, who seemed like a really nice person but did not meet my expectations. I was hoping that my blow dry would last longer if done by a professional vs myself, but what a disappointment .... especially after a paid $40 + tip for this service. I went there yesterday to have my 3 year old daughter hair trimmed. They were able to take her right away (I didn't have an appointment). Ninnette's cut was an absolute disaster. It looked OK when we left (hair were still wet b/c I decline a blowdry) but a couple hours later I noticed that her hair were not even. I ask for a 1 inch trim, and now my daughter has hair at just about every length. It's longer in the front than in the back, and the back is totally uneven. I used my kitchen scissors to cut her hair a few months ago and I did a much much better job. I can't believe I paid $18 + tip for this. And I can't believe this woman makes a living cutting hair. She has no business in this business in my opinion. Absolutely the worst experience. read more
