I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler.

My experience with this business has not been satisfactory. My vacuum, still under warranty as…read moreproven by a letter from the manufacturer authorizing work, was repaired due to poor workmanship performed at another warranty center. Upon pickup, I was met with a bill because the business was not going to eat the cost of poor workmanship on a prior service repair. I understand this logic, but not the expectation that the customer owes you for the repair. Once the manufacturer was contacted, a resolution was made and a credit was due to be issued to Mr. Vac. I was instructed to pickup my item from Mr. Vac. When I went retrieve my item, I was asked if I had payment; after it was explained that I did not and that the business was being issued a credit, I was told I my vacuum would be relinquished once payment was received. The manufacturer assured the business that a credit was being issued, but I was still denied my vacuum until the actual payment was "in hand." I was persistent in my attempts to get payment issued so that I may have my vacuum. After several contacts to the manufacturer, they opted to replace my unit (and apparently not to credit the business for the repair). I received a call from Mr. Vac guilting me into paying for the repair. I refused payment since Mr. Vac was still in possession of my vacuum (and after all had refused to relinquish in the first place, which prompted the manufacturer's decision to replace my unit). It is unfortunate how situation transpired, but with my vacuum now as Mr. Vac's property, the business is welcome to do what it pleases with my vacuum , including sell it as a used unit. As a certified warranty center, I find it unethical and bad business to demand payment of the customer for service performed for an item still under warranty. I cannot speak to the quality of repair, as the item is still in possession of the business. I am also appalled that I was being guilted to pay for the service, and once payment was declined I was rudely hung up on...I can assure you that I will not be doing business with this company in the future.

I called Discount Appliance World in Geneva, New York, and a nice lady named Judy said that she would wait for me to come and pick up the parts if we needed them as she was going to close in 15 minutes. She also told me that if anything we had bought from her wasnt needed, she would take it back as long as we didn't open the packages. Well, after fiddling with the dryer while my daughter had the whole thing apart, it worked! Didn't need the parts after all. So she took the parts back today and Judy took them back, issued a check and said she almost called us yesterday to see if everything was okay with the dryer. Now, THAT is customer service. And that was after she had told me to call the store number any time over Christmas if we needed to ask questions or needed something else. Even CHRISTMAS DAY! I had bought the dryer from them a couple of years ago with hesitation because I could have gotten the same dryer at Lowe's for $50 less. But they offered same day delivery and take out my old dryer. That already was worth the extra. But the fact that the money helped a local business out and THEN went above and beyond for my family cinched my five star rating for a local business. AMAZING!

He has been working 7 days a week to try to keep up and I could tell he was honest and trying his best. He got it done at 4 weeks and it's working beautifully and the price was reasonable (150.00) considering the machine is 21 years old. The owner told me right off his workload was maxed out and it could be a few weeks but he felt confident he'd be able to repair the unit based on my description of the problem. I figured without anything to lose it was worth a shot! Only two weeks later I got a call it was ready for pickup! Now it works like new again! Best of all the price was only about $25 bucks which made me feel like I was robbing the guy. I wish he would have accepted a tip. If you have any kind of vacuum that has trouble give this place a chance! I think they are the only place still doing this kind of work within 100 miles.
