It's a great place to enjoy with family friends and the kiddos. On this visit we had the brisket sandwich with a side order of the tri-tip steak. Sometimes you go to a place and instantly wonder and say to yourself, "self, why don't I come here more often?" This is exactly what I asked myself not too long ago when sitting at the Del's bar with a few friends. The happy hour is great, let's establish that from the start. I especially like the potato skins. They're actually an entire russet potato, sliced into wedges, then, don't quote me on this, but I believe they're then fried before being topped of with a small mountain of greatness and plopped in front of you. Served with a cold drink and it's either the perfect baseline for a day of drinks or the best option if you've already had a few. Del, you're close enough, but yet far enough. Ordered the baby back ribs, which were not fall off the bone. They could have used more time cooking. Nothing is desirable about gnawing on a fatty bone that you can't get the meat off of. We also had the smoked meatloaf, which was a total let down. Thinner slices of a seemingly processed meat - spam-like with a smoky flavor. Brisket chili was decent. So was the mac and cheese and the jalapeño hominy. Kids hamburger and fries were good for the kids. This was our second time here. Was looking for a nearby local BBQ joint with a craving for some pulled pork and brisket. Nice casual college sports-bar atmosphere with lots of deals for SDSU students. The combo plate was reasonably priced with a generous portion of fries. Was perfect for splitting with two people. Cole slaw was tasty and I loved the signature pickles and pickled red onions. Meh. I paid $55 total for a brisket meal ($36) (feeds one normal person or maybe two starving people) it said 1/2 pound but was like 4 slices, maybe that's normal? It included two basic sides: salad, coleslaw, etc. if you wanted premium sides, you pay more (chili, beans, etc) Also ordered one soda ($4) and one 10oz draft beer ($8). Food was fine. Not amazing. My kids enjoyed the play area, but the equipment was grimy. Service was way sub par for sure. Take order, check back once, don't return. No personality, no connection. Came in for a fundraiser for my child's daycare decided to get to go to get home and eat the yummy goodness so didn't get to experience the ambience too much but I will say that the space was very clean and plain the service while we were waiting was really nice and prompt. The team was really good now the food we got a ton of food. I think we got a combo meal that I really enjoyed the brisket. I really enjoyed the chicken and I thought the sauces were really good. I'm not sure. I love the mac & cheese as much as other locations but the place was still really cute. This place is pretty consistent on delicious food. Been here a half dozen times. They have special daily meal and the regular bbq items. Some times their brisket, sausage, and meat load are so delicious. Other times the brisket is a bit try (hit or miss). Service has always been really good and for sure will be going back. read more

The play area is such a huge win for my family and I, it kept our little one busy while we enjoyed our meal. They have TV's all around the restaurant to watch games, a fully stocked bar and ample seating. Seating outside was perfect, right next to the play area. It was heated and they provide a TV outside too, so you don't miss anything. The food was delish! The fat on my brisket was butter, and the potato salad and beans were a home run! Finally checked out this place this year and I can't believe it took me this long. It's tucked away in an area surrounded by housing, off the freeway, so I guess it well earns its name. The place itself is pretty cool inside, with a retro kind of feel (including some arcade games) plus TVs all around to watch sports. Staff is friendly, and it doesn't take long to get seated. I ordered the brisket plate ( with salad and street corn which was SUPER SALTY) my man got a patty melt and we asked about their appetizers and was told all they had was the ones for $20, but then we saw their drink/specials menu and brought to the waiter's attention they had "game day" specials...he had "forgotten" about. We got $10.95 nachos which was a small plate with about 15/20 chips some cheese and about 5/6 pieces of meat. I came hungry and could only finish half of the salad. The salad tasted great and I was glad that ai could substitute out the salad dressing for one that is not as spicy. Service was great.
