    Stuffed French Toast

Maggie's is a good little breakfast spot that delivers quality every time. We've gone twice on Sundays and it hits the spot! The stuffed French toast is fantastic! Not too sweet but super fluffy! The food is very good you can't go wrong no matter what you order, service is great and there's space to sit. You can sit in the main room, side area where we sat the first time we came here or even at the bar - which was calm for us when we went last time. Bring a light sweater though if you get cold, the fans work and they run haha.

Located in a strip mall Is this decently sized cafe/bar. Definitely has more of a bar vibe with neon lights and 7+ TVs on. About 9 beers on tap and a small bar area that seats 9. Came here for breakfast as I typed in cafe on my yelp search and this spot does play loose with the term cafe. Still gave it a shot with a standard country fried steak and eggs, pretty solid here gravy was better than average. Service is really laidback vibe. Overall the food I had was good and would maybe give this place a shot at lunch, but not really a breakfast feel to this place.

Amazing food and service! Called a bit ahead and got a table right away! Definitely coming back when we are in town! It was perfect for kids and very family friendly! If you are looking for a white dinner, this isn't the place! Definitely a great time here!

Maggie's Cafe is a must try breakfast place. Not only do they have a big plaza parking lot, there are cute coffee shops around. The staff greeted and seated us right away, very kind and attentive. I tried their country fried steak and enjoyed it well. It was crispy and savory, the gravy was something I'd come back for. My boyfriend tried their carne asada fries and he was impressed by the portion as it was listed as an appetizer; it's definitely shareable. My mom has their veggie hash with eggs, she loved the seasoned veggies and the egg was a good protein additional. Lastly, their hot chocolate was creamy and not overly sweet.

Brunch in San Diego, California... My cousins were hungry, so I searched my Yelp app for a restaurant and found Maggie's Cafe. We liked it because of the free parking, convenient restroom, and pleasant ambiance. I liked the music a lot... the songs were familiar pop rock style. Rafael was an excellent server...efficient and friendly. He was very helpful and fun! I ordered the French Toast - it was delicious with brioche bread. It came with two eggs and bacon (or sausage). I devoured it! This was a great find!

Stopped here for breakfast last week and really enjoyed the visit. This café has 2 locations: Serra Mesa and Barrio Logan. This Serra Mesa location is in a strip mall and there is ample parking in the private lot. We ordered: Carnitas Breakfast Skillet (carne asada, potatoes, eggs, salsa, freshly sliced avocado), and Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. For dessert we shared the Churro Waffle which comes with a scoop of ice cream. We also had hot black tea with honey and chamomile hot tea. EVERYTHING WAS TASTY. The dessert waffle was freshly made and it was the star of the show. We have excellent customer service from our server. The place was decorated well with Halloween fun stuff. I also appreciated that the server answered any questions that I had about the menu, brunch, happy hour, and dinner specials. This was great. I would also like to try the Barrio Logan loca

Ever since we found Maggie's when we would vacation in San Diego we have never been the same. This has been and will continue to be our all time favorite breakfast spot. This is what we look forward to more when we come out to San Diego. The environment is always so nice and clean. The staff is always spot on, so very friendly and extremely patient and helpful. Maggie's chilaquiles is always my go to with half red and half green sauce. They are made to perfection. I love that they still have a little crunch to them and don't taste watery. I'm not a bean person but the beans from there I love and enjoy how tasty they are. This is our second day back to back coming here since our vacation this week, that's how much we love Maggie's. Looking forward to more delicious breakfast trips here.

Wonderful breakfast spot. I grab the chile verde omelet with egg whites and it was stuffed with carne asada. The chile verde sauce has a kick and the carne asada has good flavoring. Rice and beans on the side were also very tasty. Good service. Easy parking. Indoor and limited outdoor seating. Please come and create your own adventure.

Great and friendly server. Food was good. Stuffed French toast was delicious. Chocolate milkshake was so good, not too sweet and really chocolatey. We'll be back to try other things. Breakfast for dinner, gotta love it. We'll be back to try the chilaquiles.

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking, the cafe is much larger inside than expected. Even though there was a good crowd, there was plenty of seating. The noise level inside was low enough to talk naturally, without having to raise voices. Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the stuffed French toast, which came with eggs and choice of bacon or sausage. The scrambled eggs and bacon were average, but the stuffed French toast was fantastic.

As returning customer, always delightful to eat from Maggie's. It's been a while since coming back. Food is quite delicious.

This place was a good choice for brunch! They don't have outside seating but not to worry because they have plenty of space indoors. The service was a a little slow but they were short staffed which is understandable. Despite that, they did their best and we appreciated. Food came out fairly quick after we ordered and it was great!!!! All our dishes had great taste! All of it tasted fresh and authentic.

During a recent review you may have noticed that I needed a new car battery while in Kearney Mesa. While I was there, I took the opportunity to look for nearby brunch places and wow did I score!! Maggie's Cafe is the kind of place you could drive by and never realize it if you weren't looking carefully. It's in a strip mall with a bunch smaller establishments. While it appears to have been in this location for awhile, everything was clean and nothing looked dated. There was a bar when we walked in along with several tvs. Our server was great and we had our food really quickly. You guys....i ordered the Love Waffle and it was like an explicit affair for 1. The Strawberries, chocolate, whipped cream....ok I'm pretty much drooling now. Imagine how I was then. There was a lot of Mexican type breakfasts on the menu that kind of reminded me of Las Olas or Swamis, but this food was much better. I don't typically like savory for breakfast but I saw the breakfast quesadilla and danggggggg did that look good. Also, there was a burger with an egg on it. I don't remember the name but *takes notes* was amazing looking and will be strongly considered for a future outing. Do yourself a favor and check out this place. I'm already planning repeat visits to enjoy this menu.

Our burgers came out in about 7 minutes and they were just what the doctor ordered. :) My chicken burger was especially delicious, and I'd asked for extra pickles, and let's just say that the Hodad's chefs did not disappoint. There had to be at least 15 pickles on this bad boy. YUM! Onion rings were crispy and delicious. M. loved his burger and as usual, his only complaint was that he wished it was bigger. Haha. We enjoyed our food and the fun, kitschy Hodad's dining area. I feel like every time I come here, I spot something on the walls, or dangling from somewhere, that I haven't seen before. It's always a good time at Hodad's and it is certainly worth a visit if you haven't been here before. Keep in mind they do have a limited menu (burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, rings, shakes & some beverages and beers.) However, the table next to us ordered shakes and they looked hella good. Next time for us, for sure!! Mahalo!

It's always popping up as one of the best burgers in San Diego. The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.
