We flew Delta recently nonstop between Atlanta and Chicago O'Hare. Delta continues to be a consistently good airline for us. Roundtrip airfare in "Delta Main Classic" (V) and (K) cost $551.96 each. Delta operates out of Terminal 5, Concourse M. If you're arriving at O'Hare via Delta and want to call an Uber or Lyft, you have to take O'Hare's train system to Terminal 2 (follow the signs). It's a bit inconvenient. Rideshares can, however, drop you off at Terminal 5. The Sky Club here is great. It's located between Gates M14 and M11. It's big (over 22,000 square feet) and has a Chicago-style hot dog cart. It opened in 2022 and still feels relatively fresh and modern. Great service. Overall, no delays or issues. Delta terminal is very convenient. Charging stations between the chairs as pictured. They keep the terminal clean. No problems with sitting in chairs for the hour and a half delay. It seems like this is the now norm with airlines. Delay delay delay. I do remember when the airlines operated like clockwork. Very few delays if any. That was 20 plus years ago. I get it if the weather is bad. But when you have clear skies throughout the country, just bad management is to be accounted for. The attendants on the aircraft are pleasant and accommodating. They smile and actually speak with you. I am glad I am not time constrained these days. But i believe Delta can do better and I am sure they are working on it. read more

So I planned a trip to the Caribbean and for the first time booked it directly through an airline instead of Expedia because the hotel I wanted -- Hyatt Regency Cartagena -- was not showing as available on Expedia but could be reserved on the hotel website! Delta: 1) Has an App that is easy to navigate and book international flights on including scanning passports so you don't have to type in all that passenger information; 2) Sent flight update information notifications; 3) Sent links for digital passports; and, 4) provided customized in-flight entertainment/experience. On top of that the seats were not at all cramped, the on-board service outstanding, and every flight (4) was ON TIME! read more

Nice facilities in most airports and the Delta wing is very clean and they updated the seats w chargers in mostly each one. The seats are comfortable and cushioned. My wife and I recently flew round-trip Business Class on Delta from Chicago (via JFK) to Nice. The flights going were on time, and the Delta One lounge at JFK a great experience. The flights back on July 3 were a different situation. We left Nice about 1/2 hour late and made up the time in flight, landing at JFK on schedule. The service on the flight was very attentive, no complaints. We were supposed to depart for ORD at 7:30 PM. We waited for the flight from JFK to ORD in the Delta One lounge, again, an excellent experience. Then everything went downhill. We started getting texts shortly after our arrival, changing the departure time for our flight to Chicago, without any explanation. Over the next few hours, we received texts from Delta changing our departure times to 9:05, then 8:45, then 8:25, then 10:30, then 12:22 AM, then 11:55, then 11:33, then 12:30 AM, then was rebooked at 3:00 PM on July 4. While waiting in the Delta One lounge, we were also told that if our flight did not go, we were "protected" on a 10:30 AM departure on July 4. The Delta One lounge closed at 11:00, at which point we moved to the gate area for the original flight, still scheduled. While waiting in the gate area, now at 12:45 AM, the pilot from our flight to ORD came into the gate area and told everyone there that the flight would not be departing until 3:00 AM. At that point, we concluded that the flight would not be going at all, since every gate near us was closing down. I asked the gate agent if they would put us up at a hotel for the night and was told "no" because the changes were caused by continuing ground-stops at ORD. We then made a hotel reservation for the night at the only hotel at the airport, the TWA in the old TWA terminal. They only take reservations online, and all are non-cancellable. I asked the gate agent to have our luggage moved to our "protected" flight leaving at 10:30 that morning. The agent old us that the 10:30 flight had been cancelled, although we were never notified of the cancellation. All of five minutes later, the gate agent said we were boarding immediately, and we did, evertually taking off at 1:15 AM. This was like the Three Stooges, but with an airplane. When I asked for reimbursement for our hotel, which cost $532 for the room (because its the only place actually at JFK, they make you pay through the nose), Delta refused, and blamed everything on weather. Subsequently, I learned that Delta is apparently given a number of departure slots, even during the ground-stop, and they determine which flights will get them. Our flight to ORD was on a small Delta-owned or operated commuter flight. My best guess is that whenever Delta got a brief opening, they assigned the slots to larger flights with more passengers, continuing to push back the smaller flight as a result. I sent 3 emails to the Chairman of Delta in the following days. Each was answered by a customer service person, not the person I emailed. Each response was about he same message. She said the delay was caused by weather, and they would do nothing. Our tickets were paid tickets, costing about $7,800 each. Next time, Air France. read more

Don't now whats happening but this flight at this summer season was terrible my husband's supposed to come back from business trip on July 10 2025, and they delayed multiple times until all passengers boarded and delayed for another hour and then cancelled the flight. So he had to stay overnight to where he was and now he supposed to have 6pm flight moved to 11 pm and now its delayed July 11 2025 . What is happening to all this o bare airlines. Never have I shared such an awful experience as the one my sister in law had in Phoenix. Her plane was delayed due to a mechanical problem. Today I arrived at Chicago airport for the first time by Frontier. I found the phone outside and I went inside trying to find someone to give it to you a lovely representative name. Eric from Delta tells me I don't deal with that. I do not deal with lost phones give it to somebody else so I turned and decided to go to the office the main desk, the lady there tells me that they will take it before I finish my conversation with the lady Eric is yelling across the hall hey I found the owner of the phone yet he doesn't verify if that's actually the real owner and he's very unprofessional. He started telling me that he's an OG from Chicago that I don't know him. This is not a Representative that I would have in my company. Another delta flight logged. I fly mostly delta these days, however on the occasion that I have to fly a different airline I truly miss delta. I have been flying long enough to remember the elegance of flying... it is not that by far anymore, but in the days of cattle car air travel delta is at least kind to the cattle. Mooo mooo... yep... at least they give you entertainment (tvs in the head rests with movies tv shows or games), at least they give you a choice of cookies or mini pretzels (they even let you have both if you ask), and they offer a drink... water, coffee, juice, or soda. With a new home in Terminal 5 at O'Hare International Airport, Delta has really upped its game for Chicagoland residents who choose to fly Delta even though American and United used Chicago as a major hub. My wife and I pretty much fly only Delta now, even choosing higher fares to make sure we get lounge access (the one at Terminal 5 is really nice). Delta had made MAJOR changes to both its frequent flyer program and lounge access policies, so not sure how much longer I will keep chasing status and intentionally take a non-direct flight to/from Chicago when visiting relatives. But for 2024, it continues to make sense. They still haven't rolled out free WiFi to all their planes, but our flight to Detroit had it. You just have to have a free Skymiles account It has decent speed, enough to be able browse the web freely. The enhanced WiFi on this flight allowed you to login and use it, even while you were on the ground. By settling in well before the flight, plugging in your devices into the power outlets, and putting on your headphones, the actual boarding process, waiting for clearance, and takeoff become just one long period of looking at your entertainment. The only loss of continuity happens when the guy in front decided to immediately recline his seat fully back just after takeoff. read more

I lived in Atlanta for years and traveled extensively for business. Delta has consistently been one of the best airlines we fly (and we fly many US based airlines). We did use points to upgrade our flight from Phoenix to Chicago last night- and I was VERY impressed by the dinner served. I'm so glad that the COVID 'dinner boxes' are gone and we're back to real food once again. Husband's impossible burrito was really good and had a decent spicy kick to it. Since I used to live in Atlanta, I used to fly the ATL-ORD segment a lot. I always liked the nonstop service between these two busy airports and the flights were a way of life for me. Having been Platinum and/or Gold for many years, the upgraded seats made the trips even better, with more leg room, a meal and free drinks. I've had my cancellations and delays, but that comes with traveling. The terminal at ORD is not large, but it does have a lot of options, the bigger hubs in the midwest are Detroit (DTW) and in a smaller scale, Minneapolis-St Paul (MSP), both coming from the old acquisition that Delta did of Northwest Airlines, years ago. It's an easy hop to DTW or ATL to catch a flight from ORD, if they don't offer the city you are trying to reach. Easy. read more

I appreciated the flight detail confirmation text and email leading up to my flight with Delta Airlines. The confirmations sometimes remind me the actual time I fly out, and when I can check-in. Noted from previous flights, I downloaded the Fly Delta mobile application which provided me with leeway prior to my arrival to the airport. As someone who had just a carry-on bag with me, the application allowed me to check-in early and head straight to TSA rather than to see a Delta Airlines agent. As for my airport experience, surprisingly, TSA was not crowded at all! I always dread going through security because of its congested lines, but Delta Airlines made it a simple process by allowing everyone to leave all items inside of backpacks including laptops. So, the only thing I removed was my shoes, my belt, and the jewelry I had on, placing it inside of the bin. It ended up being a smooth process going through TSA due to the adjustment. The Delta Airlines gate appeared very professional in comparison to other airlines I have flown out of. Amidst the boarding process, I adored how the Fly Delta mobile application showed a visual of the current boarding zone status which is very beneficial if I were not near my gate. My onboard experience, I slept majority of the flight, so I had no communication with the flight attendants other than the boarding flight hello, and the airplane departure goodbye greetings. And lastly, as for the airplane interior, the one thing I loved about the seat was the headrest! The headrest had a slight grip on my head as I rested during my flight. The seat was comfortable enough for me to get some rest during the entire flight to Detroit. And I had enough foot room to where my backpack could fit underneath the seat in front of me. In closing, I will be open to choosing and recommending Delta Airlines to a friend, relative or colleague after this experience. Safe travels, and blessings to all that read this review. Left Bozeman yesterday at 1:15pm. Flew to SLC and sat on an airplane to AMS for 4 hours why they tried to fix a problem. It was never fixed and they cancelled. There was no preplanning to try to accommodate passengers. Just a shit show at the gate after it cancelled. Rebooking at the gate was a joke. They said it would take 3-4 hours to get bags back if we wanted them. No body cares. They booked us on something that gives us an hour to connect and go through customs in Amsterdam. Man, Delta is usually my preferred airline when traveling to Detroit because of it having the nicer terminal there and better food options. This last trip was sheer comedy. The flight is 9:00 am. I'm at the airport super early and sitting at the gate. A coworker texts me at one point to tell me the flight that is coming in with our plane is delayed like 20-30 minutes. Nothing gets posted about the delay at all in the terminal. Eventually it is too close to the boarding time and they admit there is a delay. 30 minutes turns into unknown while the plane - now here - has some unexplained issue they are working to fix. At the hour mark, they tell us the flight will be cancelled and people will be out on the 2:00 flight. Half the flight leaves - likely going to get food or something. Literally 15 minutes after that, they announce that the issue is resolved and we are boarding, All those people who left the area missed the flight (a full flight was super empty at this point). We ended up maybe 90 minutes behind and made up some time in the air. No drinks, no biscoff for anyone. On the way home I upgraded to first. We had no delays and this time I at least had beverages and snacks. At this point I'm not sure if the sushi place in the terminal is worth the risk. read more

My last few times on Delta have Been Fantastic! If you take the business class at LaGuardia the check in is quick on the side entrance and very few people are there. The flight attendants are very nice and everything is done throughly and with ease. There are free movies to watch and as much chips, cookie & drinks that you can muster. The plane and bathrooms are clean But, best of all the prices for flights are GREAT! Very happy and I look forward to flying on Delta more often. read more

The reason I am giving Delta a five-star rating is because of three incredible flight attendants I encountered on my last trip from Salt Lake City back home to Chicago: Michele, Chan, and Andrea. They are all amazing and deserve all the credit in the world. I am an incredibly nervous flyer, despite having flown before. It leaves me feeling stessed, embarassed, and generally unwell. These three ladies were the absolute sweetest. Michele was working in the front and assured me that they would take care of me. She was also helping out a young girl who wasn't feeling well. She was so warm and comforting, it really helped put my mind at ease during the flight. She really went above and beyond to make sure I (and the other girl) were doing OK. Chan was another absolute gem. She checked on me several times. She always had a smile on her face and continued to ask me if there was anything I needed. She has such a positive energy about her. At one point when the seatbelt sign was off, I wandered into the back of the plane where Chan and Andrea were and they continued to give me words of encouragement and ask me if there was anything I needed. Just really kind and empathetic people. Everyone I have encountered at Delta has been very warm and welcoming--I will continue to fly them going forward. But it is because of these three wonderful ladies that I felt compelled to write this review. I also have to thank the pilots for their skills in getting us to our destination safely. (I love that they greet us before take-off, and then check in a few more times during the flight. It really gives me peace of mind). Thank you for making my trip such a positive experience. Flight got delayed, but at least it wasn't chaos ------------------ I guess the air travel bad juju hit us today... after an on-time departure to Saint Paul, now we are stuck here due to jet maintenance... ugh... But at least there was plenty of leg room on the way here (I'm looking at you, American), and nobody was beaten up / dragged off after they were seated (I'm looking at you, United). And no fisticuffs unlike what happened in Florida over abrupt flight cancellations (I'm looking at you, Spirit). Now there's not much to do but wait... and update Yelp reviews LOL UPDATE 424 pm: way too much repairing was needed, so we were transferred en masse to another substitute plane, which finally landed three hours after the original planned departure. I flew Delta from Chicago O'Hare to Paris and then back home from London Heathrow to Chicago O'Hare. It was my first international flight and everyone on Delta made it so amazing for me. I've heard mixed things about Delta but the flight was better than any domestic flight I've ever been on. First things first, our flight actually left 20 minutes early! I've never heard of a flight leaving early and I was stoked we did. The flight wasn't completely full so my friend and I had a 3 person row to ourselves which was nice. They started us off with some pretzels, peanuts and drinks. Complimentary drinks throughout our whole flight included liquor. I'm completely afraid of flying and greatly appreciated being able to drink white wine while flying. The dinner they served was surprisingly delicious. Chicken in a sauce with risotto and veggies plus a starter salad. It also came with cheese, crackers, bread & butter and a friggin great brownie. Plus a nice little "Refresh Yourself" napkin. In the morning, they gave us a banana, breakfast sandwich and juice. I honestly loved the food on Delta! Our flight attendants were great going both ways. A bit better on the London to Chicago flight. Also the movie situation was better from London to Chicago. From Chicago to Paris, there was a tv screen for movies every 10 rows or so. It was fine and got the job done. On the way home though, I had my own personal TV screen! It was fabulous that I was able to pick my own movies - Wreck It Ralph, Silver Linings Playbook, Argo and Pitch Perfect. Plus I could pick from various music to listen to. It was such a nice flight home! The flight itself both going there and coming home was so smooth. There were some bumps and turbulence but overall I found it much better than any other flight I've been on. I'd absolutely recommend Delta to others and plan on flying with them again, especially for international flights! read more

Our initial flight out of Chicago was delayed by more than an hour due to weather, and we would've missed our next flight from our layover airport to our final destination had we taken the delayed flight, so we went to the Delta assistance counter. The woman there was able to re-route us through Atlanta on a later flight and get us to our final destination about 3 hours later than originally planned. Good thing, too, as she said if we'd been stranded in our original layover airport (NY LaGuardia), Delta would not have provided accommodation for us because the delays were due to a weather incident, vs. a mechanical breakdown or fault of the airline. The biggest reason for only giving Delta Airlines one star on this particular review is due to Delta's excessive fees. When we originally booked our flights for this trip, we made a minor mistake. We caught it almost immediately, but when we contacted Delta, we were told there would be a $200 charge per ticket to change them. That $200 penalty was more than the cost of the flights themselves, so we ended up cancelling what we'd originally booked to free up those seats for others, took a full and complete loss on the ticket costs, and purchased new ones. I can understand and accept a change fee of $50 or maybe $75, but the charges Delta has in place are excessive. Their "frequent flier" program, called Delta Skymiles, is also among the worst in the industry. Do an internet search for "Delta Skymiles worst" and you'll quickly find out why. read more

Traveler beware! I use to love Delta but now days they will strand you in the middle of nowhere. Our 300 passenger Delta jet had to make a stop in Goose Bay Canada due to malfunction. Just as well been in purgatory or North Pole cause Delta left 300 passenger in 20 degree Fahrenheit for 12 hours on the Tarmac in Goose Bay, Canada. When the rescue airbus C330 comes and loads all the passengers on board the pilot announces he has "timed out" It's time for him to get his mandated 10 hours of beauty sleep and strands the passengers for another 12 hours until Delta sends a third jet to come pick us all up. One slice of pizza per passenger, small bottle of water and non-functioning toilets and a AWAL pilot getting beauty sleep. I have worked tired, sick, with headaches and IBS and wish I made the 600k/yr these pilots are making! What has happened to having a good work ethic in this country? Unions are great but Delta pilots will put their 10 hours of mandated beauty sleep ahead of getting passengers home and sham on Delta for putting up with it! read more

I'm not a huge guy but at 6'2" 225 economy sucks on long distant flights. I thought picking the emergency row for more leg room would be the go to seat WRONG. The seat itself SUCKS. My bathroom closet and a Delta economy seat are about the same width, even sardines have more room in a can than Cardi B's ass in those seats. I flew out there n KLM first class which was WONDERFUL. I tried to upgrade for the flight back but the website was trash and wouldn't allow me to upgrade and even calling Delta I wasn't allowed because of some glitch on the website. But when I got on the plane and saw that first class wasn't as luxurious as KLM I was happy I didn't pay the extra cash to upgrade only for a wider seat. Terrible customer service. They cancelled my flight with a few hours to go, leaving me stranded on the island without any lodging. This caused me to buy an emergency ticket to New York and then I had to work out how to get from New York back home. This caused me to miss an interview. 0/10. Would not recommend to anyone who is staying at a hotel. They did not offer a refund and customer service was of absolutely no help. I will never fly Delta again. This might be my first and last time flying delta. My scheduled flight back to jfk was supposed to depart at 6:15 and they sent us back and fourth between gate e7 to e9 to e 15 then back to e9 and eventually gate e7 again. The flight staff are nice and kept apologizing and promising us in intervals of 10 minutes that we would be boarding, but it doesn't help when it's late and we don't know whether or not we should walk away to the food area and grab some food or drink for the flight because it sounds like we are about to board any minute now. Needless to say 1 hour and 50 min now and I'm still here waiting to board. I gave it an extra star because I almost made it to the upgrade and had 15 minutes of hope for an upgrade on the wait list... while short lived it was still my first time being on an upgrade waiting list. They are however better than air China and Fiji airways which I will never fly ever again. For domestic flights I do appreciate that there is ample leg room and that they didn't try to make more money by squeezing more seats in a tiny aircraft. read more

I was honestly blown away by Delta's service today. I was a complete idiot today. I went to O'Hare when I was supposed to go to Midway... yes, I know, cue the laughter at my mistakes. I approached the service desk and the worker who helped me was very nice and had a good laugh with me about my predicament. He was incredibly nice and helped me rebook my flights to be in/out of ohare. And the best part? No additional charge. This is by far my favorite airlines for domestic flights. They're always very courteous and accommodating when I fly back to see my family in the east coast with my two-year-old son. Even though I'm not a Platinum member like my husband, they always make sure that we fly together comfortably. Last minutes changes are never a hassle with their well trained customer service representatives. Unlike most airlines (United and American Airlines), they don't ask you to check your stroller until you are at the gate. The flight attendants are always very helpful and professional. read more

I recently flew Delta for the first time to Seattle, Washington. I checked in one bag going to Seattle and was charged $$30.00 which I paid. However, on the way back, I paid $30.00 at the kiosk and when I actually went to check my bag, I was told that it was $100.00 for being overweight. It was the exact same weight when I left but was only charged $30.00 and no one could give me an explanation why that would be. My ticket to and from Chicago was $293.00 but my luggage cost $160.00! What made the extra charge even worse was that the flight was full so everyone was allowed to check their luggage at the gate for free! I wrote the president of Delta Air Lines explaining this situation and also telling him that I am a senior citizen and on a fixed income and could he, somehow, help with my luggage charges? That was over 1 month ago and I have yet to hear anything at all. He couldn't even acknowledge receipt of my letter. We got a great fare to and from Seattle and both flights were on time with great service but $160.00 for luggage is not right. And the fact that when you do send a letter that gets no answer from the president of the company about his company's practices is just not acceptable. The next time we fly to Seattle will not be on Delta. read more

They have crackers, seltzer water and champagne - yes, it's not free but c'mon now. We arrived 15 mins ahead of schedule and that's a plus. I'll fly again with Delta. read more

I had a great flight this Saturday from Chicago to Salt Lake. On time, no line to board. More space on this Delta plane compared to United, with whom I typically fly. The galley area where the coach bathrooms are located are more spacious than United, so I was able to stand up to stretch. Seats also have more leg room and the free snacks are better: we were offered cookies, chips or a Kind brand granola bar. Nice flight attendants. Free movies. Arrived on time, smooth flight. While I know this is not a hub for Delta, I find it hard to believe that this airline has never been reviewed at this location. Flight was out of Terminal 2 Concourse E. Packed plane. Half the people on the plane pre-boarded which suggests they were Delta loyalists aka frequent fliers with status. When Zone 2 began to board, all bags were checked. The plane ride was nice and the staff were pleasent. On time arrival despite a ten minute departure delay. One of the neat things is Delta offers beverages and a snack. They are one of a few airlines who offer free snacks in Economy. So, I am a fan because I still get free Biscoff cookies. Given this experience, I would definitely fly with Delta from Ohare again. read more

This airline sucks. Extremely rude behavior. Awful costumer service and horrible supervisors. If you see this on the flight recommendations just run. This woman called "Maren" and the supervisor were horrible to me. They need to be arrested or go to the psychiatric hospital they can't be free and selling tickets. That's just wrong. MAREN YOU SUCK. This is my favorite airline of all. On my last one day round trip from Chicago to NY upon my return their associate walked my client and I through the humongous line so we don't miss our plane. We didn't even need to explain that the traffic from Manhattan was so heavy we didn't make it. He knew. I got to Chicago on time to let the nanny go home. Another two times while traveling with a toddler, the captain went under the deck to bring the stroller up - never happened with any other airline. I'm a single mom of two, a passionate interior designer who travels a lot. I book Delta as much as I can, because they always get me to see my kids on time or help immediately when they see me holding a baby and all belongings at one time. Delta is great!! I recommend it without hesitation. read more
