Delta is definitely one of the best airlines for me and my wife. Our trip to Orlando from jfk was good .The 2 and a half hours flight went smoothly, flight was on time and landed on time.we also flew back using delta the flight was smooth no turbulence, just a good trip some snacks and a movie made the flight a bit more fun. Definitely a good airline to use for our birthday destination.

Delta one on the 767-300 is ... fine? For the price you don't get a huge seat and you don't get a huge, modern screen, but you do get nice staff, nice food (although didn't love everything coming on one tray on this recent flight, but that was maybe because it was only a 6 hour overnight flight) and a place to get a decent few hours sleep. I'll fly it again, but prefer their other planes.

Once again chose to fly on Delta and haven't been disappointed yet especially when traveling first class on Domestic flights seats are comfortable and service has always been great and they usually have good food options which is always nice. Also the stewardess are always nice and very friendly which is always nice . I will always be flying with Delta as long as they keep the good options out there and prices are reasonable.

I have been a loyal delta customer for a few years and currently have medallion status. I am a delta Amex card holder. I had never had issues with delta until today but the inexcusable lack of empathy and customer service after completely ruining a costumers day is almost enough to make me never give them business again. I had a flight booked from Jacksonville to LaGuardia with a layover in Atalanta for 3pm. I was coming from a cruise ship so unintentionally ended up at the airport at 9am several hours before my flight. Checked my bag, printed my boarding pass and went through security with no problem. After 2 hours of sitting in the airport my delta app had suddenly changed from showing my digital boarding pass to prompting me to check in again. At first I assumed it was just a glitch with the app and tried to check in again. However, it said there was an issue checking me in and to either call or go to a gate agent. I walked to my gate agent and asked why my flight was no longer showing. He then informed me there was a different direct flight to LaGuardia available and would I like to take that flight and get home a few hours earlier. I said that sounds fine but I wanted to make sure my bag got changed because I had checked a bag for the original flight. The agent radioed the baggage handler and assured me my bag was being moved to the new flight and wouldn't be an issue. The agent then printed a boarding pass and I noticed my seat was now showing main cabin not the comfort plus upgraded seat I had paid for. I verified with the gate agent if it was comfort plus and he assured me even though it was not comfort plus it had extended leg room like the comfort plus seat. Once we finally board I realize the reason it was extra leg room was due to being in an emergency exit row which would not recline. So I was downgraded from the seat I paid for to be put in a seat with no recline much further in the back of the plane. To make things worse there was no WiFi of any kind not even for medallion members on the flight so I had 2.5 hours on a seat with no recline or WiFi after paying for an upgraded comfort plus seat. It was also one of the dirtiest Delta planes I have ever seen. Then the cherry on top. I arrive in New York to find out I was lied to and my bag was never moved to the new flight. The lost baggage agent accepted no responsibility for the airline losing my bag and attempted to blame me that I "changed flights" even though I was told in Jacksonville they had changed my flight and I just said OK. This was not something I initiated or asked to happen. She never apologized and acted like they were doing me a favor offering to deliver the bag THEY LOST! I informed her there was absolutely no chance I was coming back to the airport at 11pm for a bag they lost so they absolutely would be delivering it to my home. Finally I called the corporate customer service number to file a complaint. Again I feel the customer service was no where near good enough and they did not want to accept any responsibility. I asked for the bare minimum which is a refund for the difference of the comfort plus seat I originally booked and paid for to the basic economy seat I was given. The customer service agent said they would put in a refund request and someone would contact me if it is approved. As someone who works as a hotel manager I know the importance of customer satisfaction and customer retention. While I understand things happen, if a customer does not get the exact product they pay for they are entitled to a refund of the difference, if not give a full refund as a courtesy to ensure customer retention. I have two international flights booked for the coming year that I bought non refundable months ago because I am a loyal delta customer. Before today I felt delta provided the best product for air travel and knew even if I have to change dates as a medallion member I can still change dates or get delta credit for future flights. At this point I would strongly consider cancelling my international flights and booking them on a different carrier. Due to having non refundable flights I will continue to give them my business for now but if I decide to buy future delta flights I will most likely purchase refundable and will cancel them immediately if I ever have an issue anywhere near as bad as this! I have traveled with delta exclusively for two years. I took connecting flights that took much longer than direct flights offered by other carriers. I would have recommended delta (or a European delta affiliate) to anyone over any carrier domestic or European for the past two years. While every airline can have cancellations, disturbances, and delays, the way you handle those situations are what matters. Delta handled this situation so poorly at most I can recommend delta with caution. When things go well they are great, but unfortunately when things go poorly they do not have adequate customer service.

The air conditioning is blowing really well! I'll give them that credit lol The seats are decent. At least this plane, they were alright. We've been on smaller feeling planes. I got the end seat, so admittedly I do have more room to "hang out" into the aisle. They have a cool lighting system and the colors change throughout the flight. That's more esthetic though. Service was fine Flight attendant seems friendly enough. Movie selection was alright; they had the new Deadpool movie. Surprised they had that one lol

It was 11 hours flight to Honolulu, Hawaii. It wasn't the longest flight I have ever flied. Can't compare to across Pacific Ocean flight that use bigger aircraft, newer model and more functional. Obviously pretty old airplane with not so much clean on the side of the seat. With my little experience about flying, I mostly bring my own meal or snack to be less expectation about food. Because I travel as a couple, I paid extra to be able to seat at the window seat for long flight like this. It was worth to see the sky, land and ocean when you take off and landing.

I am a United person but given the cluster in EWR and air traffic control, I flew Delta from SF to JFK and might have to make the switch permanent. Flight on time both ways, great lounges and a separate security line with no one for DL One. Come on now!

    Welcome to New York.

There seem to be multiple "Delta Air LInes" throughout Yelp. So, If you feel that you've seen this review before, you probably have. I can't say enough good things about Delta, they always do a wonderful job getting me from here to there or... in reverse. it is an amazing airline. It has always been a great airline. Their planes are always clean when we get on. Unfortunately someone always stashes that piece of garbage and I'm usually the one who finds it. LOL. They do a great job of preparing flights from customer to customer. The attendants are always very friendly, courteous and professional. A great group of very talented and committed individuals. They should all be very proud of themselves. I have flown both economy and Delta Priority 1. BIG difference and depending on the length of the flight, it may be worth it. I recognize that there is a big price difference in the two so it's not always an easy choice. The seating is always comfortable and there is always enough legroom. (I'm 5'11"). The video screens are a good size and there is always enough entertainment choices. I'll give the snacks an ok. Nothing spectacular but OK. I definitely miss the blue chips. I definitely miss the free hi speed WiFi. If it's a long flight, you can buy and it's pretty reasonably priced. I don't mind flying, really I don't. When I do, Delta does a great job. I'm not always thrilled about be put into a tube and shot across the country sitting for 3-6 hours but when I do, Delta is a great way to go. KUDOs to the team at Delta.

Awfully, there customer service is rotten to the bones. Be prepared to sit on hold for 2 hours talk to somebody only to have them drop your call....it is almost impossible to get help and when you do they give you the wrong info.

We had to wait on the mechanics to check some things- which I was totally fine with because safety is always first, especially in the air. Then, we spent about 45 minutes waiting + taxiing to the runway, before the pilot told us we were going back to the gate due to said mechanical issues. Once we de-planed, we had to wait over an hour for a new plane to arrive at the airport to take us to Charleston. Walking around the JetBlue terminal at JFK airport, I saw most other flights were experiencing delays as well. The airline did issue us $12 meal vouchers on our credit cards, but by the time the voucher reached my email inbox, I was trying to stay close to the gate to avoid missing my (new) plane. I wish we'd been told about the meal vouchers as soon as we got off the plane so that we could have used it. Once we boarded the new plane, we still had a long wait to taxi to the runway and take off. We arrived in CHS about four hours late. The airport was still crowded at the gate, as the plane was flying back to JFK at 10:30-11 PM at night. The redeeming quality of JetBlue was the free in-flight wifi. I'm really glad the pilots turned it on as soon as the doors closed. I was able to crank out a few Yelp reviews and keep my airport ride updated throughout this saga.

I flew China Southern Airlines from New York to China. We had a layover in Wuhan. The agent booking the initial flight from NYC didn't give us enough time to clear immigration, reclaim our bags, and check them back in. So we ended up missing our flight. China Southern rebooked our entire party on the next available plane which luckily was 3 hours later. They did this change without additional cost to us. I thought that was amazing because they did not have to do that! The flight attendants were excellent. They responded promptly and efficiently to everyone who pushed the call button. They anticipated passenger needs before they arose. The seats were large enough to make the 14-hour flight as comfortable as possible. Every seat has their own entertainment with a nice selection of movies, TV shows, and games. They kept the passengers stocked with pillows and blankets. They fed us multiple times and the food was relatively decent. The flights left on time and arrived early for the most part. On the way back to the States, I was able to speak with the ticket agent and they checked our bags all the way through which should have been done initially by the agent who booked our tickets so China Southern arranged that for us as well. I have nothing but good things to say about China Southern Airlines and I would fly them again :-)

I flew El Al to Israel on a Birthright trip about a week ago and also yesterday. I had vastly…read moredifferent experiences both times so I'm settling on three stars. The first time, we were on a very old airplane. It was about a 10-hour flight from JFK to Tel Aviv, so it would have been nice to have had some entertainment. There was a TV screen from 1984 on the back of every chair, and it played movies that kept cycling through, AKA you could not control the start or end time of it. Coming home, we were on what I was told was a Dreamliner, and it was very modern and much better. Each seat comes equipped with an iPad type of screen and there was a large selection of movies, TV shows, and even books to choose from. The food was actually very good for the most part, for breakfast yesterday they fed us omelets and I don't eat eggs, so I asked for something else, but they didn't have an alternate (they said they had ran out). Since I can't eat dairy either, and the breakfast consisted of yogurt and other dairy things, I was stuck eating the bread and the small cookie. On the newer plane that we got, the seats reclined far back, which I thought was a good thing at first... Until the rude passenger in front of me put her seat down all the way for the entire 12-hour flight. I initially asked her to move it up a little bit and she did move it all the way up (more than I expected). Later, she reclined all the way back again, and I asked her to move it up a little, to which she flatly replied, No. She must have told the flight attendant that I asked her this, too, because the flight attendant then asked me not to "tell" her that she has to put her seat up. (I didn't TELL, I asked....) Other than that, the trip home was much better than the trip there, due to the modern plane and the snacks and amenities offered.

So far my least favorite airline. Well, except for maybe United. I hate United. My first trip to…read moreIsrael. 11 hours. Started out getting on the plane thirty minutes early, all is well with the world. Sit down. Wait. Wait. Keep waiting. We left 80 minutes late. Guess how many announcements they made. I'll wait (I did already for so long). Yup, that's right, 0. We literally sat there from 11:20pm through 1:10am with not one announcement. So we finally take off, things are fine. About seven hours in, the elderly woman next to me tried to in-recline her seat in business class. Nope. Unsuccessful. So the staff comes and tries to fix it for ten minutes while she's standing next to them. She's 80 for chrissakes. Let the woman sit. So after over 20 minutes of this, they offer her first class, she wants to stay with her family, so they give her my seat and I take the first class seat. Yay. It's so....average. Literally the only difference between first class and business class is more leg room and better waitstaff. It's not special. So super long story long, coach would have been a nightmare, entertainment doesn't exist (there's a TV but it one from the 1980s with programming from the 19th century), there's no Wifi or outlets for an 11 hour plus flight, and the food isn't good. So why two stars? Well the seats are comfortable. I slept better on that plane than I do in my bed. I wouldn't go at all in coach, but business class is fine. And I felt safe which can't be understated. Back again and it's worse than last time. 2.5 hour delay with no announcement why. So for three flights, I've had waits of 1, 1.5 and 2.5 hours, respectively, and numbers of announcements of 0,0 and 0. My friend is in coach and he says that it stinks unbearably. It's also very warm, as the air isn't on despite us being on the plane for twenty minutes. I'm still not going to give it 1 star since I sleep so well in business class on these recliners, but this airline doesn't have much else going for it.

I am shocked by my own positive review of Austrian Airlines from exactly the same time last year!…read moreThis time, it was all largely awful as follows: 1- Tight, cramped seating that made the 8 1/2 hours really miserable. The aisles are so narrow that the flight attendants who walk aggressively, the carts, and other passerbys constantly knock into people in the aisle seats. 2- Barebones amenities: Poor entertainment choices on flights to and from JFK. Lots of 'B' movies and TV. 3- Poor quality food: Vegetarian dinner was simply pasta and tomato sauce- no vegs, no nothing. Breakfast was a hard sweet roll and the coffee was beyond awful 4- Filthy/dirty bathrooms! On most other airlines, the staff will check periodically to make sure the bathrooms are bearably clean. NOT on Austrian. How utterly disgusting after many hours in the air! 5- Hot and stuffy in the cabin with no ability to manually adjust air flow above our heads and the staff kept it warm- probably in the 80s. Who can sleep in such heat?? 6- Check in at the Vienna airport for Austrian Airlines is incredibly barebones. No personnel to check you in. Instead you must use the confusing machines, with only one assistant to help people use the many kiosks. The only personnel are the 2 people to receive your checked-in luggage. The Austrian Airlines experience was so poor that I now dread using them again if I want to return to Vienna. I probably would even chose using Luthansa with a stop, in order to avoid this really terrible airline!

I had to call and could not do this online as we have a child flying with a different parent each way. I was trying to purchase tickets to Vienna today. Called the number online Austrian Airlines listed as 1 (800) 843-0002. Pressed 2 for United States, received message, "for organizational reasons, you will be redirected to Luftansa." I spoke with two representatives for which when they went to try to book the line was connected but remained silent - they didn't respond further without telling me to hold. I then called back and spoke with a lovely man Derriek who was reportedly able to make the reservation and took my credit card information, but didn't give me a confirmation #. I called back and rep Porgy said he could not find my reservation. I requested to speak with a supervisor Gabby who also could not find my reservation and said we could try to rebook so in the process of checking flights and giving her all our information, she kindly went to check how much extra baggage would be, but then returned and noted that since it was an austrian air flight, she could not book for us (?!!!) She said I would need to call Austrian Air. When I told her that I DID call Austrian Air and that the phone redirected me to her organization which I thought was Luftansa. I asked for Austrian Air's number and she gave me516.738.4422. I called that number and received a recording that it was a customer feedback line to which no live person would answer (!!!) I left a message to notify them of the issues. I then resorted to a travel agency. However, when just double checking if the Austrian Air number really did route to Luftansa, I got representative named John, who said they were a "Miles and More" Star Alliance center who would be able to book any of the star alliance airlines including Austrian Air and Luftansa. But THAT call got disconnected. This was so crazy and wasted hours of my day. I'm very disappointed by these airlines and wish they had the decency to at least be upfront about whether they could book or not and do it in a timely/professional fashion.

My son and his family wanted to spend few weeks in Italy (leaving from JFK). I recommended to book ITA flights because we could fly back together with the same flight. Being in Italy, I called the 06 customer service 1(number explaining the problem. This lady seemed not to understand either the problem or the frustration (you know how many times we tried? you know how many times we had to put the same information in ?). She was able (for the grace of God) to see the different attempts but, per her account: 1) names were truncated 2) do not try so many times if it does not work : you block the seat reservation. 3) You now have to pay in Euro because you are calling the Italian number (0685960020) Names were NOT truncated and I recommend to have the web site checked by the programmer Why ITA have this type of problem? It looks like Alitalia 10 years ago. Do NOT look cheap. My son was trying to book the tickets in New York City not in Italy. It should be in dollars. He is paying- not me- FROM USA. Do not have condescending people answering a customer service. It looks bad.

Peace of mind, comfort, and professionalism is well worth paying a bit more for. Again, do not fly this airline. It's not worth the aggravation and stress.
