The front desk tried, but, housekeeping just couldn't do their job. We gave them two tries with two separate stays. But, each time housekeeping failed. During our first visit, the door to the room assigned to us was propped open, most likely by housekeeping when they cleaned the room. During the second visit, the bed was not made. Both times the front desk personnel apologized and comped us with breakfast buffet from their lobby restaurant. The hotel is an older property with 2 or 3 floors. Both times the replacement rooms were okay. It was exactly what we wanted, a room with 2 queen beds. The bathroom appeared a little dated. The room was adequate for our needs. If they only gave us these rooms first. Instead of a lounge, this hotel has a "Pantry" where elite Marriott members could grab some snacks, like beef jerky and chips, and drinks and yogurt from their refrigerator. An espresso maker was also available. They also had a freezer with ice cream. The had danishes and other breads for breakfast. I liked having access to the lounge. It's an okay property, if housekeeping behaves. 3 stars. read more

We arrived for a 2-night stay and the parking lot was completely empty. We picked this hotel over the other Marriott hotels based on the photos- very deceiving. Being Titanium Elite, Marriott will upgrade u based on availability. When we checked in and asked if an upgrade was available, we were told no. I was completely surprised since the hotel looked empty. She said the hotel would fill up later. Went to our room and went online to check availability - plenty of rooms along with 2 types of suites. Called down and the front desk was extremely upset we went online. She told us we still could not have either of the suites. We usually don't do this, but decided to call Marriott and inquire- they were extremely nice and just as confused as we were. The agent called the hotel directly and spoke with someone- our room phone started to ring and it was the front desk telling us we could come get our key for the room move and then she hung up! Husband got the key without a word being exchanged. Horrible service! Marriott should have higher standards- if considering Helena, choose a different Marriott property! Terrible check in experience and refusal to provide me a quiet room. I come here quarterly for an important meeting with the Montana judiciary but this receptionist acted like I was lying and demanded a government ID. She put me in a room facing the frontage road and Highway 15 saying all the quieter rooms were booked. But there's hardly anyone here. Its incredibly noisy and, bonus, my room smells like my son's college dorm room. Yuck. Never staying here again. read more

I have 5 kids 4 of which are in travel sports, my husband travels for work, we both are also world travelers and I have never had anything stolen from my suitcase until now. The crazy thing is something told me in my head to take pictures of my suitcase's belongings and I pushed it to the side, I've should have went with my gut! We were gone most of the day for a volleyball tournament, during that time my $200 Veja shoes were stolen from underneath my laundry bag. The housekeeper says she didn't do it which honestly I don't believe her but she also had two other girls with her. Either housekeeping or maintenance stole my shoes! I got very bad vibes checking in and again should've went with my gut! Do yourself a favor and do not stay here and if you do lock up your stuff! Now, I know it's peak travel season in Montana, but there is no reason the room I got should be over $200/night. The accommodations were...fine, but the bed and pillows were so soft, I woke up sore and not well rested (when I needed to be). The air conditioner, while it worked fine, was about as noisy as you'd find at a Motel 6 or Super 8. The walls are super thin. The hot tub wasn't hot, but the indoor pool was thankfully quite clean. One of the perks of this place is supposed to be a free pantry- you read that right, a free snack cupboard. However, it's since been closed due to covid. The staff here is fantastic, but management/corporate need to step it up. read more

I stayed at the Delta Hotel and Suites in Helena, Montana on several occasions. I stayed there because I really enjoyed the amenities, namely the jacuzzi in the suite. However, I have had several unsettling experiences that I would like to share with potential patrons of this establishment. A while ago, I stayed at the Delta hotel for the first time. I remember the accommodations were wonderful; however, making the reservation and the check-in process were substandard. I do recall the room was clean and spacious, and the jacuzzi in the room was delightful. I recall calling Marriott Bonvoy and expressing my pleasure with the amenities and displeasure with the customer service. Despite this, I decided to give the Delta hotel another try. I recently stayed at the Delta hotel a second time and the experience of making a reservation and the check-in process were similar as the first experience. I remember asking the hotel representative if the spa in the room (listed in advertisement) was the same as the jacuzzi in the suite. She replied, "Well it's not a swimming pool" and proceeded to laugh. I explained that I was not sure if the spa and jacuzzi were terms used synonymously, and explained to her that I didn't appreciate her sarcasm, for which she never apologized. I then recall checking into the hotel pursuant to my reservation and the clerk did not welcome me. Instead, she had this unwelcoming look on her face as if she did not want to be there. The conversation was limited to handing her my credit card and her asking me how many keys I needed for the room. I then walked to my room and upon entry, I noticed an open Sunkist can and a Slurpee type of drink in the refrigerator, which suggested that the room was not adequately cleaned. I was planning to address this concern with the front desk clerk but given her non-welcoming attitude, I decided to call the Marriott Bonvoy customer service about my experience. After my stay, I recall speaking with a Marriott Bonvoy representative who took copious notes of my experience. She then informed me that she was forwarding my feedback to the Delta hotel and that I should be getting a call back from the manager very soon. Unfortunately, I never received a call. I then called the Marriott Bonvoy back and informed the representative that after waiting the allotted time, I never received a call from the hotel manager. Marriott Bonvoy representative apologized for the confusion and explained that the hotel manager probably didn't call me back because I was just allotted 5,000 points for my inconvenience. I told the representative that I still wanted a call back from the hotel manager as I was planning another reservation at the same hotel and wanted to make sure that I did not have a similar experience as before. Since then, I made another reservation at the Delta hotel for October 7, 2023. However, on October 6, 2023, at approximately 1030 a.m., I received a call from the hotel manager. He called to inform me that he was canceling my reservation. His justification was vague, but it seemed that he found my repeated feedback to Marriott Bonvoy harassing. He also informed me that I was rude to the hotel clerk; however, he refused to provide me with specific examples. He then informed me that I was no longer permitted to make any reservations for an indefinite period at the Delta hotel, which I perceived as retaliatory. I then informed the manager that I would be calling Marriott Bonvoy again to inform them of this conversation. Feeling devalued as a Titanium member but more importantly as a human being, I called Marriott Bonvoy and informed the representative of the persona non-grata status, to which I now hold at the Delta hotel. I explained to the representative that had the hotel manager valued my patronage by listening to my side of the story and correcting any misunderstanding, this persona non-gratis would never have come to fruition. Given everything that I have been through with the Delta hotel, I give them zero stars. If you choose to stay at this hotel, I pray that your experience will be better than mine. We stayed at the Delta Hotel in Helena last night, and it was disgusting, to say the least. I haven't had to use that term in a hotel review, but this time it is deserving. We checked into our room, and the carpet was stained and dirty. I took a shower, and tub didn't drain, so I was showering in standing water. It then took an additional five minutes to drain, so the next person could use it. The tiles were dingy and dirty, as well as the tub surround. Then, the walls were so thin, I could hear the conversations and "activities" of the people next door. I had to bang on the wall. My husband did go to the front desk to complain, and, to their credit, they offered us a discount, and another room - but it was very late, and we had a lot of luggage we would have had to move (since we're in a move 'cross country.) To top it off, we woke up the next morning and found that the window shade was broken, and would not open at all. We scrambled to get out of that place. Marriott acquired the Delta Hotels, but did not bother to make much-needed renovations to an establishment sorely in need of one! Why would they risk their name and reputation? Why put your name on a hotel if it does not meet minimum standards for cleanliness? We also had a similar issue with another acquisition of Marriott's when we stayed at the aging and sub-par Four Points Sheraton in Ventura, CA this summer. Marriott execs, take a trip to Helena ... check it out. Room 163. You would cringe, shutter, or die of embarrassment if you had to stay in that room. And I'm sure it's not the only one. I did try to go to the Marriott website to air my grievances, but apparently, they only accept reviews if they email you a guest survey. We travel several months out of the year for pleasure. I wish we could count on Marriott Bonvoy for clean rooms. Guess not. read more

They hate covid masks! I went in the lobby - 20 people were not wearing masks. This felt uncomfortable because of the pandemic. I brought it up to the kid behind the desk at Delta, in Helena. "Do you guys not enforce mask policy?" I asked. "No, we don't wear masks in Helena and Bozeman, unlike where you are from, in Missoula ... Besides, the numbers are going down, so Covid is not a problem here," he said. I said, "No, your numbers are wrong and variants are rising. Plus, you are a hotel, which means people come from New York and L.A." "It doesn't matter," he said, "Governor Gianforte says we don't have to enforce masks so we don't." "Well I don't feel safe in your lobby with 20 people congregating here so close," I said. So then, after our stay, I responded in the "feedback" note afterwards from the hotel. The note said it would be shared with staff. Next time I called to book, the girl on the phone said they have a few rooms left. When I gave her my last name, she said she had to transfer me. The guy, same guy, (probably) picked up the phone - and said they no longer had rooms left. "We just got booked by a girl's gym team," he said. Right. So I went online and saw there were several rooms left. We booked online. Just to prove there were rooms available. But then I cancelled. Being a Marriott guy, I normally stay at the Fairfield Inn down the street. The fact that this is a Marriott property intrigued me. I had never stayed in a Delta hotel before. They are a chain that originated in Canada but have spread to the U.S. as well as a handful of international properties. I must say, I was happy with the result. Check in staff was friendly and I received a complimentary upgrade to a large king room. It wasn't quite ready when I approached so I waited maybe 5 minutes and it was good to go. The room was solid, complete with a rock fire place feature that's quite hypnotizing and functional. It actually has a remote control where you can adjust the heat. I prefer a higher level floor and this place maxes out at 2. But, it's spread out; lots of rooms on the two floors. The hotel restaurant and bar were busy and lively. A fair amount of local beers available and a decent wine list. The Ahi tuna was fairly decent on a bed of bok Choi and other veggies. I would've taken a pic but I was too hungry from working out in the fitness room earlier. Speaking of the fitness room, it's decent with 3 ellipticals, 3 treadmills and some free weights. Enough variety to exercise the travels away from sitting all day. To top it off, they have a pantry that is exclusive to Marriott Rewards members that are gold and above. It's a secure room with snacks, coffee, ice cream and Clif Bars! Yes, I love Clif Bars!! I'll definitely stay here again when in Helena. read more

The manager of the bar and food, Joey, is a very rude and unprofessional manager. I had a seizure the day of my interview and while trying to explain why I missed the interview Joey, I was promptly talked over by Joey and told I was a waste of time, and she promptly hung up on me after telling me, "not fucking cool." Naturally I was disheartened because I am a frequent user of the delta hotels. So I decided to call the General Manager and unfortunately he was not available so someone took my name and number and I got a call from none other than Joey. I wanted to avoid conflict but once again she began talking over me and when I was finally able to say I had a seizure she told me, "well I had three call offs today for interviews and what you did was very unprofessional." She began to escalate to yelling as I repeated the same phrasing, "please transfer me to the general manger". After probably ten times of me repeating myself I was told by Joey that he was not available and before I could ask to leave a message, she hung up the phone. At this point I am infuriated, disheartened and feeling like she is infringing on the rights of someone with a disability. I called the third and final time and was able to get transferred to the voice mail box of the GM. Corporate either gave me illegitimate numbers, or hung up on me. If you are someone/care for someone with a disabling disease. Do NOT choose the Delta. For at least one of their managers are allowed to be like this and nothing is done about it. Super staff. Very clean. Didn't get to the restaurant, but when I went in to borrow a fork, it looked good and the staff was awesome in there, too. Meeting rooms really nice. Free parking, wifi. Fridge and microwave in room. My TV was broken. Well, it turned on and off and the volume worked, but it was stuck on one channel. Luckily, it was the Cartoon Network, so I was set! I would give more stars, and probably will once the construction is done, if the rooms were nicer. Mine had a musty gym sock smell, peeling paint, and a heater that had two settings: BLAST FURNACE and OFF. It was very clean, though. Every star earned is for the exceptional staff. read more

This place is a gem. Located near the capital the first thing you notice when you walk in is the beautiful lobby with an elegant circular staircase leading to the 2nd floor. The lobby is clean and opens up to a restaurant and bar area. The rooms are very generously sized and you done feel crammed in like a sardine. This hotel was updated recently and had nice features like a smart TVs and screaming fast WiFi. The hotel also features a great fitness center. We were here for a fundraising event and the staff handled things flawlessly during the event. We spent an hour in the lobby waiting to leave for the airport by the beautiful fireplace and enjoyed that as well. I would have no hesitation on coming back to this hotel. read more

I really feel like you can tell how great a place is by how fast they address a problem or concern and this place holds the bar really high in that category. Radisson Colonial, Helena MT A few little things that just seemed to pile up, such as: - the coffee from previous occupant was still in coffee maker when we arrived. - We stayed two nights. Our cleaning service the 2nd night did not bring new coffee mugs, glasses, or coffee. - We phoned and asked for more coffee. Waited 20 minutes, then headed out for dinner. Returned to no coffee.  - At check-in, the front desk staff didn't mention where the pool, ice machines, etc. were, and there was no map of the hotel in our room - which I think is pretty standard, maybe they just forgot. - The fridge had splashes of food in it. - No garbage bags or liners in the cans in the room, so nowhere to really put our trash. Kind of disgusting as we had a baby who needed diaper changes, etc. Upon checkout, I mentioned all of this to the front desk person, who didn't seem to care and just asked me if I wanted a "zero" receipt. It was really a bizarre way to address a customer complaint. All in all, it's the little things that count. The beds were pretty comfortable, and the restaurant staff was excellent - which was great, but I would expect a lot more from the Radisson in terms of the finer details. read more

Best hotel in helena. All the staff has high customer service skills. The bar staff is amazing. All of them! If you aren't staying here and are in helena at a different hotel, the drinks they make are amazing here at the delta. Happy hour is half off appetizers and dollar off all drinks. Their appetizers are AMAZING. Best hotel and bar in Helena. The bartenders Ali,Tawna and, Chris had me laughing out of my seat both times I stayed for 3 nights. They made my stay. read more

This is my second stay here. This time I came with my family. The Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a nice fitness room. In the morning, they have inexpensive Starbucks coffee with free refills. Easy travel on their van from the airport. Only one concern, so I should probably give it a 4.75 rating: This visit they did not have a non-slip tub insert that I had last time. The restaurant is full-service even though almost empty (both of my visits have been off-season.). I should mention that the buffalo chili is terrific. Breakfast buffet is available until 11, which is great for a jet-lagged family. read more

Everyone employee is friendly, professional and they go out of their way to make sure you're happy. Rooms are very comfortable and dining/bar prices are very reasonable. By far one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time. The hotel is clean and quite. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. We had one issue while staying there and the staff went above and beyond to correct it. It is kid friendly and pet friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious. There is a little market you can shop at for snacks or bring your own as the rooms have mini fridges and microwaves. Definitely will stay here again if we travel back to MT. read more

The upside: the bed and pillows were awesome - made for a great night's sleep. The downside: Came in late and didn't notice the toilet hadn't been cleaned until we were ready to retire for the evening (didn't want to have to wait for housekeeping after traveling from Maryland to Montana). We were up and out early and forgot to notify the front desk or leave a note (grandson's funeral so we were a tad distracted). We were gone the entire day, praying we would find things in order upon our return. Nope. We came back to, you guessed it, a filthy toilet; I'm talking ring with fuzzies indicating it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. Gross! Called the front desk who dispatched the maintenance man who brought supplies. My husband wound up cleaning the thing himself. In addition to that, the tub surround was so crusted with soap scum I could scratch my name into it. The stories of hotel housekeeping are notorious and, based on this experience, truthful. I'm so satisfied with this hotel. I needed to make a last minute reservation on a Friday night. I generally don't enjoy using reservation lines or the internet to make a reservation, I prefer to speak to a person on the property as they are always more knowledgeable about their abilities to accommodate my needs. I had called a couple of other hotels in town that ended up being fully booked and I was referred to the Delta Colonial. From the moment I spoke with a person at the front desk, it was obvious that this was going to be a high quality experience. They were able to get me a pet friendly room at a reasonable price and made me feel like they were the ones lucky to have my business. When we arrived tired and hungry from driving, with a dog who was really tired of being in the car, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. But the best part was the room. Sometimes (at some hotels) pet friendly rooms are not as nice or clean and fresh smelling as the rest of the Hotel. If not for the other people who had pets in that wing of the hotel, I couldn't have been convinced another animal had ever been there. The room was pristine clean and odorless, the bed and pillows and bedding were as comfortable as any Marriott property I've ever been to. We didn't use the bar or restaurant, but the staff was extremely helpful in answering our questions about finding a decent pet friendly local place to eat. I really like this place and can't imagine staying anywhere else when I'm in town, no matter how many relatives insist they have the room. read more

The staff appears to be nearly all young, white, perky women who very cheerfully give you the wrong information, don't answer the phone, and blissfully ignore your pleas for the information you ASKED for (rather than the info they had). Stayed at the Red Lion since I was attending a meeting there, but it's an inconvenient drive from downtown, which is the best part of Helena. The Red Lion's design is very dated. Wi-fi was spotty. Could not get hot water in the morning! Room was large and clean. Breakfast buffet nothing special. Going back to Great Northern in the future. read more

We live within walking distance of the Colonial and decided to try the remodeled lounge thinking it might be a place we'd enjoy frequenting. The remodel is nice, the service was not. If you're going to charge top shelf prices, you should provide top shelf service. We tried to engage the bartender a couple of times and she just couldn't be bothered. Further, Kimmie served my drink in a broken glass, complete with a jagged edge, and charged me full price without so much as an apology. Needless to say, won't be back. read more
