Great burgers and clam chowder. It's very crowded but they do a great job at getting people in and out. You order at the register and they bring your food out. If you're in Davis check this place out.

Everything was solid from the burgers to the drinks. My friend said her Arnold Palmer was one of the best she's had, good tea flavor and balanced. The passion fruit pineapple cider was a unique option and went well with my meal. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and the onion rings were also fresh. Service was good too, even after ordering at the counter as they checked if we needed anything and cleared plates from our table. I'm glad we were able to try this local spot for lunch!

I have been going to Burgers and Brew for years. It's always one of my favorite spots, no matter if it's Davis, West Sac or Midtown Sac. I wish we had one in Elk Grove. I used to love getting the bacon and blue cheese burger, but I discovered the steak sandwich at the Midtown location and have never gone back. It's so good. Cooked perfectly to medium. It's tender. And easy to bite through and chew. Nicely done. On this special occasion, they had Pliny the Younger on tap in late February. Following them on social media is key to finding out when their locations will have the beer on tap. And it was worth it. Service was fast. And love to sit outside and catch the breeze in February.

Wow. What a great burger. The best in the Bay Area. The best burger I've had in a long while. I have to try every burger on the menu. If you're in Davis, stop by. You won't regret it

What a delicious lunch!!!! Perfect for a sunny day. I got the Philly cheesesteak with a chicken Caesar salad on the side while my best friend got a cheeseburger with chili fries she got a chicken salad as well! Both were delicious her burger was juicy and my sandwich was cheesy with juicy the right amount of onions! We also got chocolate shakes! The service was quick and easy! Waiter was super nice and impressively carried all the damn food and drinks we ordered like at the same time! As young as he was you would have thought he'd been there for a while! The vibe there was VERY college kid based. Maybe because it's next to UC Davis or I'm not sure but the crowd was super young lol definitely a spot for college kids but I would absolutely return it was delicious!!! And make sure to sit outside the sun is nice but even better if you can find a spot in the shade!

First time coming to Burgers and Brew. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast - our food came out quickly. We ordered the Pastrami Burger with sweet potato fries and the grilled chicken (substituted the cheese with cheddar and added bacon) with a salad. The salad had so much flavor, and the grilled chicken was delicious. Unfortunately, the Pastrami Burger was lacking in flavor - I had to add salt to balance it out. Overall, I'd rate my experience 4/5. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu. HIGHLIGHTS It was 93 degrees outside, but they have misters to help you stay cool. I absolutely love the outdoor seating - plenty of shade. You order the food yourself at the counter, and then they give you a number and bring the food right to your table. Plenty of beers to choose from, including seltzers.

Brunch time! (Btw this rating is based off of Davis food) - Steak Sandwich: Very very thin piece of steak. Not terrible but could be a little better with the texture and overall more flavor was needed. 4/5 stars - Fish & Chips: This wasn't the fish and chips I was expecting :(. The fries were a good texture but the fish was a big bummer. 3/5 stars They had lots of brews (which I'm sure would've been so good) Staff were super sweet. It's self seating after you order & pay. Food did come out fairly quick.

Always a go-to stop when in Davis! It has always been a favorite among all of my friends, including myself. Whenever we go back to visit Davis, we always include Burgers and Brew. I love their outdoor seating either on the patio or the sidewalk. Usually there is always a nice breeze when the weather is warmer. Even if they have a longer line, it usually goes pretty fast and it's pretty easy to place your order with the cashier before being seated. Food usually doesn't take too long to come out once seated. While I love many different burgers here (honestly I don't think you could go wrong with anything you order), my personal favorite has been the smoked aged cheddar burger. Of course during my last trip I did order it without cheese (which I understand kind of misses the point), BUT it was still as delicious as i remembered. Plenty of flavor with their homemade smoked aioli and the caramelized onions. My husband had the avocado cheeseburger and loved it! I thought the avocado was very fresh, the patty was delicious, and I know the pepper jack cheese tied it all together. Don't pass on their garlic fries because I promise they are worth the upgrade!

Great burgers and drinks! Tho they don't have bottomless drinks. And the lamb burger can get dry... so why did I give it four stars? Because if nice downtown vibe, good food selection, and friendly staff service. It's not bad. I do recall have metal utensils before. But it's no biggie to me regarding plastic utensils since a few other burger places out chicken places have plastic utensil. Above average B+

Kids meal: hot dog and fries
    Stacey F.

Fun, local beer choices and decent pub food. Today we ordered the kids meal hot dog and dear lord it was HUGE! LOL It will definitely fill up your kid! She said it was tasty, too. I wasn't super hungry so I abandoned my usual go-to feta burger and rolled with some Irish nachos. They were tasty, though pretty overcooked and dry. Enjoyed the pickled jalapenos, though. One of the staff wandering to check in on tables was kind enough to give me a side of sour cream, too. She was lovely. The building is pretty run down and old. Reminds me of an old home where you just keep building random extensions to increase space without ever updating or remodeling the rest of it. I worry a little about the floors collapsing, but maybe that adds to the small town charm. Lol All on all, there is lots of space, service was reasonably paced, food is okay, and the beer selection is rotates and is local. Nice little staple in town.

This is the small size :-)

You can add blue cheese (or any different cheese) to any burger. You can choose fries, sweet potato fries or salad. Ask for a sample of your beverage if you have difficulty deciding it want to try something new. Try to get there a bit before the lunch rush to secure a good table. The CHORIZO burger was AMAZING!!!! The staff is super friendly and patient.

Still obsessed with Burgers and Brew! Whenever I'm craving a burger, this place comes to mind and I seriously make the drive out to get my beloved bacon cheese burger with garlic curly fries. I am always STUFFED after eating this! The smoked cheese, bacon and smoked aioli really makes these burgers something special. Not to mention, the garlic curly fries are a dream. The garlic is smashed into a cream-like consistency which feels more balanced than a chunky garlic chopped up. This place never misses.

Updated review for 2024! I'm a fan of all Burgers & Brew locations (West Sac, Midtown, Davis). This Davis spot has been there at 3rd & C Streets since 2007 when I was still in undergrad! We came in after an event at Yoloberry Yogurt ended around 7 PM, which was great since B&B was open until 10 PM, a party of 3. Order at the counter/register, take a number and sit wherever. They kept all of our orders on one table but were able to split the check. They do have daily specials advertised at the register in case the regular menu doesn't interest you. Water is self-serve, straws too. Ketchup is provided at the tables, and napkins and utensils come with your food. I believe their burger buns come from Village Bakery in Davis. I'm a fan of their Smoked Aged Cheddar, Lamb Burger, and curly fries. They don't carry the Fuji Salad anymore at this location but that was also a fave of mine. When I'm not feeling like a burger, I tend toward the Turkey Avocado Melt (on sourdough) with curly fries. At the midtown location, I also tried their Buffalo Fries and those were hefty too. You can get garlic curly fries if you can't decide between garlic fries and curly fries! When I'm in the mood for a root beer float, theirs also hits the spot. I'm also partial to Sacrament Brewing's summer mango beer, but they also carry Pliny, Sculpin, Lagunitas, etc. Two single bathrooms and the porch wraps around and is open-air for summer and tented/fireplace for fall/winter if you can't find an indoor table. Parking is best along C Street where the Farmers Market is.

    Kid friendly? High chair available?

Yes. But don't sit anywhere until you order other wise you will get yelled by the workers. I mean yeah Kids can go but a little to loud and rowdy.

Is all seating still outside or are there indoor options?

There's about 4-5 tables inside but a lot of outdoors options for seating and tables

How many people can be accommodated for outdoor seating during covid? Edit: I should've also asked, what the typical party size is for the outdoor seating? Thank you :)

All tables are outside. I would say at least 100+ people in all the areas

Does anyone know if they are doing outside seating or is it only delivery and take out?

As of last Sunday dine-in was allowed, but everything was served in to-go containers. Might've changed by now as they were waiting for Yolo County for "traditional" dine-in approval.

How much do the pattys weigh?

they're big 1/2 pounders. Tasty too!

Do they have a gluten free option?

They don't have gluten free buns but they can do any burger as a lettuce wrap.

What dressing is on their salads?

The most house dressing is the most delicious vinaigrette I've ever had.

    Is it Dog friendly?

I believe outside yes. I was there 2 weeks ago and there were two dogs on patio's More French fries…

Is there happy hour here? When/what?

I'm sorry. I am not sure on that.

Are the veggie burgers gluten free?

I do not know. I am actually going there either tonight or tomorrow. I'll ask and get back to you…

Can I reserve a table for 6 people for dinner?

Yes! The outdoor seating can easily be arranged for that number. I once shared a reservation with 10 of my friends from my dorms, and we sat outside. Probably have to call and make sure though

Can I pre-order something then pick it up here?

    yes

That said, our experience was noticeably impacted by the host. From the moment we walked in, interactions felt more focused on what we couldn't do rather than helping us feel comfortable or welcomed. I was initially told my dog wasn't allowed, which was later clarified when I explained he is a service animal, but subsequent interactions continued to feel corrective rather than hospitable. It stood out because every other staff member we interacted with was warm, social, and inviting, which made the contrast pretty stark. One practical note for future guests: if you order wine, plan to finish it there. They do not offer cork-and-carry, so splitting a bottle only really works if you're prepared to drink a good amount on-site. I'm rooting for this place and hope this feedback is helpful. With a small adjustment in front-of-house approach, this could easily be a fantastic addition to the local bar scene.

The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.

My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. The food itself was mediocre, and after that interaction it honestly didn't matter. This was supposed to be a special birthday outing, and his attitude and language completely ruined it.
