I've visited Delta Pawn twice - once to sale gold jewelry that I no longer wanted (like single earrings and broken necklaces) and then again to sale a few pieces of sterling silver - I'm happy to say I received fair price each time. Gene, the Owner, and Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. In fact, I never felt pressured to sell or buy anything in the store. Now the store is unlike any pawn store I have ever seen - instead of seeing junk weed-eaters and old lawnmowers for sale, I saw absolutely beautiful jewelry, bone china, antique furniture, and everything you can imagine for Collectors to admire and purchase. Also, Gene and staff can assist you with layaway arrangements, which is much better than buying on credit. Free parking is on the side of the building. The were super nice. Had some items I needed to get a loan on. They took me my 1 karat diamond bracelet was synthetic diamonds. It blow me away. I paid a lot of money for that bracelet that was supposed to be real diamonds. They still excepted my loan for the gold. Learned a lot today. Highly recommended Delta Pawn. read more

My best friend and I went into Delta Pawn hoping to pawn a ring that her horrible ex bf gave her. Yes I know same old sob story...ANYWAYS. Winona and Gene were amazing to us while we were there. We talked about life and my friend and I walked around the store enjoying every piece that had. Very very cool items. I have been visiting Delta Pawn for a couple of years now and Gene and his staff are friendly, professional, and I always leave more than pleased. Delta Pawn is not your traditional "pawn shop" (love traditional pawn shops too). You just will not walk in and see three dozen weed eaters. Gene is an easy going, friendly, honest, and fair businessman. There is a convenient, private side parking lot or on street parking. When you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and immediately are drawn to the nice glass cases full of men and women's vintage estate jewelry, designer jewelry, high end watches, cufflinks, pens, etc. The entire store is clean and easy to navigate. You never know what you will find. There are multiple rooms with unique home furnishings, vintage/antique furniture, art, collectibles, textiles, glassware, collectible box cars/figurines, electronics (speakers, turntables, PA equipment, mixers, etc.), records/vinyl in all genres, and the list goes on... And, if you are on the hunt for a certain sterling flatware pattern and/or hollowware piece(s)...go see Gene. He has beautiful pieces (full sets of flatware, individual pieces, and some difficult to find pieces). Some polished, some new in bags, some with original patina. All priced to sell. After visiting multiple Pawn shops looking for a guitar, I chose Delta pawn as they were clearly the nicest shop in Bham. Employees were helpful and polite and they had some seriously nice guitars for sale. Everyone else had the same junk you always see (ie. a beat up sunburst Squier strat) . I was nervous about going to a pawn shop due to the stereotype that they are all "sketchy" and aim to cheat you. Delta Pawn is absolutely nothing like I imagined! All of the staff was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the experience of selling a few of my treasures very pleasurable. They offered a fair price and explained why they were offering me what they were. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with the deal and there was zero pressure. They even offered alternative locations if I chose not to sell to them. While I was discussing business my 5 year old daughter was treated like a queen. My experience ended VERY badly NO STARS FROM ME!!! They took my pawn payments each month. Then when i came to payout, they said they had been robbed and my items were stolen months ago, while i was still making payments... So they continued taking my payments and never notified me. They didnt provide any proof, police report, or insurance info regarding a robbery. The clerk didnt know anything about a robbery(???!!!) The manager expected me to pay off items they SAID they DIDNT have, and would give me something else of which I had no idea of its condition. BEWARE!!! Not surprised of new building if they keep your items and your payments...I threatened legal action, but was also experiencing a loss of family at the time...VERY BAD EXPERIENCE! read more
