They are always slow, and most of the time they can't get the medication right. Some of the people that work there are rude, and impatient.

It is…read morethe oldest pharmacy in South Carolina as well as the oldest continuously-operating business in Summerville. It was founded by Dr. Henry Charles Guerin. The roots of the pharmacy go back decades earlier. Dr. C.F. Schwettmann owned a drugstore in Charleston, but it was damaged by cannon fire during the Civil War. He set up a new drugstore in Summerville in 1864. In 1871, Guerin (a former Confederate soldier and graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina) purchased the pharmacy and Schwettmann returned to Charleston. After Guerin passed away, the pharmacy was taken over by his son Dr. Joseph C. Guerin. The younger Guerin's colleague Dr. Herbert F. Dunning later purchased the pharmacy. Since 2014, the owner of Guerin's Pharmacy has been Dunning's grand niece Barbara A. Dunning, RPh. My family and I visited Guerin's Pharmacy this past summer while we were visiting family in town. Our cousins told us to check out a really cool old pharmacy in Hutchinson Square. We had no idea that pharmacies like this still existed; we had only seen ones like this in the movies. In addition to a pharmacy, Guerin's also essentially doubles as a general store where customers can purchase souvenirs, postcards, books, t-shirts, etc. Guerin's is also home to a soda fountain, which were popular in drugstores during the first half of the 20th century but rarely seen today. Customers can get Blue Bell brand ice cream, milkshakes, malts, floats, fountain sodas, hotdogs (with or without chili), pickles, or a number of different treats from the candy counter. My wife and I shared a cup of "Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream while our sons shared a cup of "Cookies 'n Cream". My wife also enjoyed a strawberry milkshake while I had a bottle of Cheerwine. It was so cool to step back in time at Guerin's Pharmacy! We'll definitely visit again on a future trip to Summerville.

Every other month I have an issue with my refills. This time I called to find out why I haven't received a text that my medication was ready. After being on hold for 10 mins a lady gave me two different answer of what was going on with my medication then put me back on hold. Several mins later a guy gets on the phone and tells me my medicine was entered wrong and the one I usually gets is not in stock and will have to be ordered. This is not a new prescription, I get this inhaler every month. I am out of medication and now it won't be in for a few more days. She was argumentative over the phone with me and refused to help me. She actually argued with me instead of helping me figure out why I was having issues with this prescription pick up. It took me having to call my insurance multiple times, local general practitioner multiple times and a previous Walgreens pharmacy to straighten out the situation. Turns out the employee at the Moncks Corner Walgreens did not know how to correctly run the system there and had messed up our prescription order entirely. Obviously there is a severe lack of training here, care for people's health and also lack customer service. I felt attacked, not helped. Will be changing pharmacies as soon as possible.

They've been short-staffed for years & whether you go in-store or the drive thru to pick up, be prepared to wait a loooong, frustrating time. My most recent use of this pharmacy left me hanging 24+ hours without medication I needed same day due to travel. I used the automated pharmacy line before 8am that morning to submit my request. The Pharmacist pulled it immediately, put it in a "preparing" status, but failed to fill it the entire day. Then she went home. This "preparing" status prevented all other CVS pharmacies from pulling my prescription & filling it for me (ones open 24 hours). No communication from Moncks Corner pharmacy. CVS national customer care was also closed. There was not a single CVS agent in the entire U.S. that could resolve my problem. I know that to be true because I actually drove to the store to beg the manager for help. She patiently listened to my dilemma, but no ideas. I've used this pharmacy for years. I've switched to other drug stores for extended periods of time due to a plethora of situations that plague this location. CVS Moncks Corner = non-existent customer service. Take your money elsewhere. I am. This location should be closed.

For years, this location offered top-notch customer service, which truly set them apart. However, in recent years, I've noticed a decline in customer service. The warm, attentive interactions that once defined the Publix experience are becoming harder to find. It feels like the store became a little too comfortable being the only major grocery option in the area for a while--and that has affected how customers are treated. With new competition moving in--Nexton, Moncks Corner, and the upcoming Carnes Crossroads locations--there's going to be more choice for shoppers. I hope this motivates the Cane Bay store to refocus on the exceptional service Publix is known for. I still shop here and appreciate many things about this store, but it's time to step it back up. The customers have noticed the shift.

Tons of parking, of course, it is a large grocery chain. Parking is shared with other businesses in the area. The store parking lot and inside were extremely clean and well laid out. Granted, this is a new location, but you can see the hard work that the team put in to keep the store looking fantastic. Don't you love it when a business team member goes out of their way to make things right? That's exactly what the very nice lady at the bakery did this morning (I did not catch her name). She went out of her way to find me some bran muffins, and cracked open a package that had already been sealed from their bakery, Just so that I could have that Muffin! How cool is that?! Walking around at the store, I was asked by three different team members if I needed help. Awesome and appreciated! The deli and hot food service is the bomb! Fresh and hot and great selection. The fresh produce department was beautiful as always, seems to be the case with Harris Teeter. We will be coming back to this store specifically because of this interaction and experience.

About the only thing I like about this store is the bar with live music some days but makes me think what kind of wine am I getting.
