I found this place through Paradigm's dealer finder. Turns out their one of the best dealers in the region, if not the country. Their attention to service, and expertise in what they sell is a testament to this. I came in looking for a new center channel, which they were able to get me within a few days. When I came in to pick it up, they spent the next two hours demoing a variety of speakers and electronics. They knew I wasn't looking to buy, but was still curious. When the time came to upgrade two more speakers, not only were they prompt in getting me what I wanted, but they also helped me exchange my recent purchase for a different model. Basically, I bought a speaker in one finish and then later wanted it in a different finish. They helped me out with exchanging this even a few months after the sale. Never once were they pushy in trying to up-sell me on more expensive gear, nor were they smug or elitist when I told them what equipment I was running. I don't have crazy expensive stuff, but I think it's good for what I need. I appreciate that they realize their customers may have different needs and budgets. They made me feel like my business mattered to them even though I was only spending a modest amount on three speakers. An added bonus, they also happen to be in a low sales tax part of Naperville, witch saved me about 3%. That said, I would have chosen to work with them regardless. Bottom line. I happened into Deluxe Audio Video (then called Sounds Deluxe) when I lived in Naperville many years ago, looking for a new receiver because I just don't like Best Buy. I've been a customer ever since. This is not your typical electronics store but more of a showroom where you can see and hear the gear set up in listening rooms. The owner, Bob, is a very personable guy and does he ever know his stuff! Most times, you won't go walking out the door with your purchase because they don't stock much in the store, but I don't come here for instant gratification...I come here for the service and the knowledge that what I am buying is the best for my money. We recently purchased a new LED TV and a pair of Paradigm speakers to refurbish our aging home theater equipment. Bob gave us a great price, which included delivery and expert set up. We've also used Deluxe A/V's crew to run in-wall surround speaker wire and Ethernet cable in our home. They are friendly, clean, quick and experts at what they do. Last winter (Dec 2007) I started my basement finishing project. It was a completely bare 1200 square feet area that we were finishing. Part of the space included a 22 x 13 dedicated home theater. A neighbor referred me to Sounds Delux and boy am I glade he did. This shop will sell you high end stuff at a competitive price and install it for you too. This is locally owned family type business. I visited the Naperville store, which is located in a strip mail. From the outside it is very unassuming. Once you get inside you see walls and rooms filled with high end home theater gear. They have three rooms showing off front projection setups which is what I was there to demo. I dealt with the lead Sales Rep who really has a passion for this stuff. At first I got the feeling they were more interested in the "Bigger" jobs only. However, I really wanted to stay local with the purchase of a projector and screen. So, I did plenty of my own research and stuck to my guns. The came out to my project after the framing was up and gave me a full blown quote for everything. They gave me some great suggestions, including confirming I could go with a 119 inch screen for my space. I ended up purchasing a Sony 1080p front projector and 119 inch wall mounted screen. I had them come install this once the basement was ready. The two techs were fast and courteous. They even hung a Plasma for me that I purchased elsewhere. The install cost was reasonable and well worth it. If you have a home theater project in mind you must check these guys out. read more

I got a Control 4 installed by them. I've also purchased a Parasound amp. Their salesman Bob, who is very knowledgeable and very passionate about both audio and video. He's got plenty of experience and tons of knowledge I appreciate his passion about the industry and what I'm buying. You don't go to deluxe audio and video and expect the same level of service as you do from the big box stores. If you want honest opinions and good knowledge you go to a dealer who wraps high-end equipment. Their install team came out and did an excellent job installing my custom system. Even though my project was very small, it did not matter to them, as they treated me the same as if I was doing a major install, which was appreciated. I came here looking to buy a pair of speakers. The salesperson who "helped" me wasn't able to tell me much of anything about the speakers I was listening to. He showed me the wrong color samples for the speaker cabinets. The pricing was unfairly high and non-negotiable. But I bought from them anyway. Since they didn't have the speakers in stock, I waited more than a week for them to arrive. Got some lame excuse about how the hurricane in the gulf coast affected shipping times (from Buffalo, NY to Naperville, IL... yea, right). Look, I'm not stupid. If you want to bundle my shipment with others to reduce costs, fine. I understand. But please don't lie to me about it. When I picked up the speakers, I realized the guy ordered the wrong color (it's either black or cherry, not that complicated). He assured me that they'd order the correct product the next business day. Fast forward 2 weeks later. They hadn't reached out to me at all. I decided to call them to let them know I'm ready to pick up my speakers. I ended up talking to the owner, and he told me that they hadn't received the speakers. In fact he hadn't even ordered from the distribution center yet. There was no apology from him - just a condescending, patronizing tone. It was a month since I paid in full for my purchase, and I still didn't have these speakers. At that point I gave up and bought from a different store. On the bright side, the refund process was quick and painless. read more

Scammers...I used their services back in 2016, when I attempted to reuse their service in 2022 they told me I need purchase equipment through them. I have purchased authorized equipment through a company that recommended their installation. I have tv mantle mount system that has labeled Deluxe Audio and Video of Naperville as an authorized dealer to install the mantle mount properly. I simply have a new tv that I want to be installed using the mantle mount system. I have kept their receipts from my original purchase in 2016. I called today about using their service for my new tv to be installed on same mantle mount and they blew me off and told me I needed to purchase my tv and equipment through them directly. However during my original are arrangement in 2016 this wasn't a problem to have my tv installed using the mantle mount system. I simply called today to set-up an appointment in 2022 for a newer tv I have purchased using the same mantle mount. Now their terms and services have changed. The amount of money I spent in 2016 to have them install the mount system was ridiculous then and now for them to deny service to me really makes wonder if they are scamming others like me. read more

We had our tv/entertainment system installed by this company. In all fairness, they did a good job with that. Prices are steep but quality was good. Today they came out to switch out a cable box and for that alone charged $200. When asked why? They said, "Well, we have to charge to drive from Naperville". That is ridiculous. We were not told there was a premium to drive from Naperville. In addition to that, they were an hour late. When I called to ask about the incredibly ridiculous pricing and was told that they charge for "travel time", I mentioned that I am taking time off work and if they were an hour late, that they should account for that. The owner, then, on the phone asked me the most unprofessional and quite personal question of how much I make hourly! NEVER I have been asked that... by anyone! Really? If this is how business is run - rude, unprofessional and certainly not centered around customer service - I hope, and am sure, there are other alternatives. read more

A few months ago I wrote a review expressing my unhappiness because work done in my house by Deluxe Audio and Video was incomplete. I was then called by the owner of the company after reading my review. He was unaware of the situation. The employee who was responsible for my bad experience had not informed him or anyone else and was no longer with the company. After sharing my displeasure with the owner he committed to me that he would make this right. I am happy to tell all of you that he was true to his word. He hired workmen to complete all work to my satisfaction. Deluxe Audio and Video and the crew they sent could not have been more gracious and the work was completed with skill to my great satisfaction. It is impossible to run a business without occasional mistakes or problems, how that business responds to correct the problems is the difference between a great company and their lesser competitors. The owner of Deluxe Audio and Video made this right to my discerning satisfaction. The companies commitment to my satisfation and their prompt follow through with excellent craftsmanship has earned my respect. I can't specifically review Deluxe Audio and Video as I didn't use them directly, but we hired a home automation specialist who happens to be the general manager here, to install our home entertainment system. Overall it was an extremely unprofessional, extremely frustrating experience. He didn't showed up at our scheduled, arranged time, probably no less than on five different occasions (we're busy too)... And when he did come, he did a sloppy job (things still aren't working), he didn't finish, and kept some money we had given as a deposit for work and materials not completed. I'm guessing Deluxe Audio is a decent vendor, but if they employ people like this, I personally would think twice about using them. read more

I hired Deluxe Audio and Video to complete a whole home Control4 Automation, added in wall/ceiling speakers to 3 rooms, and added outdoor speakers. The staff was great to work with to help me map out exactly what I needed to do this large job. The installers did an excellent job putting everything which included cutting into drywall, wiring various speakers, and putting together a rack in my basement which stores all of my products. read more
