My experience with Deluxe Dry Cleaners was amazing. My best friend's wedding was September 5th. On 8/29, I swung in and asked if they were able to clean my man's suit and dress shirt and have it ready by the following Wednesday, 9/3. Even though they were closing for the long weekend and Labor Day, they said it would be no issue at all. I ran it back in to them later in the day and they had both ready with no issues. Both of my interactions with the younger gentleman at drop-off and the younger lady at pick-up were nothing but peaceful and enjoyable. Very kind staff, and great service. This dry cleaner saved me! I was packing for a trip and realized the dress I planned to wear was stained. I took it to them and they cleaned it the same day, even though i missed the noon cutoff. I really appreciate their customer service and expertise, even if they are more expensive than other places they offer higher quality. i will take important items to them for sure going forward. read more

After using them for many years and not having any problems (though I've heard others complain about them and I've always defended), I had the worst customer service experience with them recently and won't be going back. I was trying to get several leather jackets cleaned. To do so, I had to wait until the owner was in town. After waiting several weeks, I had to again wait until the day he would be in to talk to him (this was the recommendation from the employee at the counter). When I got the jackets back, they had been "treated" with some type of leather care product, but they were still dirty. I showed the dirty spots to the employee at the counter. In several places there was so much dirt and debris in and around seams, zippers, and cinch straps, that I was able to scrape it out with my fingernail and make a pile of it on the counter. This dirt was there when the jackets were dropped off, but I didn't expect it to be there once they were "clean!" The counter employee said I need to talk to the owner, and that she has nothing to do with cleaning. She never apologized for her company's poor job, or said something like, "I'm sorry, but we'll get this corrected." Just, "Don't tell me, you have to talk to the owner -- he does the leather cleaning." So, I left the jackets and talked to the owner on the phone the next day who refused to do anymore cleaning on the jackets. I pointed out that they were still dirty and told him where to look. He said he did the best he could, and would refund my money. I explained that I had no desire to have a refund, just that the jackets would be clean. I told him that they could easily be cleaned with soap and water (and a toothbrush for the crevices), which is what I'd still have to do if I took them home the way the were. He still refused to acknowledge they were still dirty, so I took my refund and took my jackets home and had them clean in 15 minutes once home. It's not just the poor job they did, but the fact that they wouldn't even admit that the garments were still dirty (even though they could see the dirt in front of them), and the poor customer service of the employees offering no solutions or apologies, just passing the buck. I'll not be going back and I will be looking for another cleaner for my dry cleaning and leather cleaning needs. read more

Can one really be a fan of a dry cleaner? My appreciation for this place was realized after I'd been using them for a number of months and then tried a string of other shops that were closer to my house. At one place my shirts kept coming home with missing or broken buttons. At another they came back to me stinking with that gray odor of decay you find at your grandmother's sister's house. After going back to Deluxe, I've been very happy. I was never UNhappy here, but I guess I just thought that the grass must be greener on the other side of the neighborhood. It wasn't. And now I see it with fresh eyes. The little parking lot is convenient, the staff is always polite and quick, and they always seem to get the starch just right on the shirts. And the pants NEVER smell of denture cream and circus peanuts. That's a plus in my book. read more

This is the worst dry cleaner I have ever used. My blouses were not pressed and I doubt if they were even touched. They still had stains. And not to mention the outrageous prices. I spent near $40 for 3 blouses. When I had my pants pressed, they came back with "railroad" stripes and they were messy and unprofessional looking. Never again. And the service is terrible. I have been to this dry cleaners on to occasions. Both times have been a problem. I dropped off a pair of pants to be dry cleaned and explained that they would need extra care due to a stain on the back pocket. When I went to pick them up the stain was still there. I told the proprietor that the stain was still there, her comment was " that's the best we could do". Why I went back I'll never know but I did. This time I dropped off a very expensive pair of pants that had a stain on the leg. Once again, when I picked them up the stain was still there. PLUS I asked about hemming a pair of pants and was told that is a service they don't offer. Unfortunately when I left I forgot the the pants I wanted hemmed and they promptly LOST them, what the ----!!! This place is a joke. I'm not sure if they have new ownership or what, but I'm done doing business at this place. When I first moved here, this is where I went and I've never had any problems. On my last two trips, I've had issues as outlined below: 1) Items were not ready when promised - Not only were they not ready when promised, I would get a tad bit of attitude from the staff when I was there to pick up the items. They had to go back and prepare the items to hand to me. 2) Items damaged - I have one suit jacket that was over heated during the dry cleaning and has a few marks of damage. I also have had to take two pairs of pants to get altered as they shrunk from being over heated in the dry cleaning process. 3) No longer taking cash - This isn't a complaint more of a service announcement. I went to pay cash on my last visit and was told that they no longer take cash, per their sign. The problem is the sign is posted on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper on the back wall with a font size that doesn't make it clear to anyone. Again, I don't know if it's new ownership or staff, but the customer service has slipped, turnaround time has slipped and quality of dry cleaning has slipped to a point where I will not be back. PS: The girl in front of me on my last visit was there because they broke the strap on her dress during the cleaning process and it could not be repaired. Not sure the end result... read more

If you want to be ripped off go to this place. They charged me over $4 per apron for an event while other dry cleaners charge under a $2. The staff said they would give me a price quote for the aprons but never did. I even asked her twice and no call. When I did pick them up and saw a bill of over $300 for apron? There must be a mistake..NO that is what we charge. The Owner did give me a price break of $.50 per apron since I had over 60 aprons. Make sure you talk to the owner before dropping anything off as the staff does not know how much to charge for large orders. I will never go back to this place and I hope everyone reading this review will think twice before bring your items to this dry cleaner. There are other dry cleaners that charge reasonable prices. Don't make my mistake and go to a dry cleaner that charges reasonable prices like Cleaners Concepts in Hyde Park. read more

I finally took a few of my nicer items of clothing to get dry cleaned, and had a fine experience here. The girl who was working when I dropped off/picked up was friendly, service was expedient, and price was in line with most other dry cleaners. They also have a private lot, which is refreshing in Mt. Lookout Square. One of my blouses did come back with some water marks on it, but that could honestly be from my drunk self getting gyro grease on it one night and never noticing it was there. This is the worst dry cleaner I have ever been to. They completely ruined my very expensive blouse. The owner took no responsibility for the damage and said it was a "manufacturer's defect". I told him I had it cleaned at other dry cleaners including Widmers and had no problem, and his response was "then why did it come to me?" I was shocked by the owner's response, especially given that I had been a very good client. Every other dry cleaner I have been to accepts responsibility when a garmet is damaged to preserve their business reputation and their relationship with a good client. This place is awful. I took a few pieces here a few months ago and my request was not done so they had to do them again. Not to mention that my clothes looked pressed and not clean. Two weeks ago my fiancé took a ton of our son's dress clothes (unbeknownst to me) and when he picked them up they were still dirty. Very dirty. This place should not be in business. Just picked up a suit from here and couldnt be happier! The suit looks brand new now and the shirt is pressed and starched perfectly. I asked for light starch and while other cleaners always seem to use too much this used just the right amount. The price was comparble to any other quality cleaners in the area. My 6 month old comforter ended up with a fist sized hole after being cleaned here. Not only was the hole upsetting but the customer service has been a nightmare. 3 weeks later I'm still playing phone tag with the owner, and their idea of fixing it was a very tacky hand sewn job that isn't even the same color.
