DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!! This Place has to be the most disgusting restaurant I've ever seen, The floors are so slick and disgusting that the chairs slide away from your table easily. The bathrooms are so disgusting that I would much rather use the bathroom in the woods away from the restaurant than go to the bathroom in the restaurant. I've lived in New Brunswick for 60 years of 69 years of my life, and was born and raised in West Saint John, in an area where most of the dads in the area were fishmen by trade. I ( and family) have enjoyed Deluxe Fish & Chips for a LOT of those years as well. We used to really enjoy going there, whether it be for dine in or takeout, and the product had been VERY good, infact, outstanding! Their restaurants were pretty much full a LOT of the time, while the products being served, and the resonable price charge was great. However, over time, they have gone to the usual "dark side", and have now fallen so LOW on my list of "restaurants" for fast food, I can't believe that it's the same great place it used to be. The past couple of times I've gone there to pick up and order of fish & chips, I wondered why there were no other customers in the restaurant, at around 6pm, on a Wednesday summer evening. The store I have been going to for a number of years, is located on Prospect Street in Fredericton NB. I believe that, probably, the reason IS, that they have shrunk the size of their cardboard plates considerably, and people are getting FAR less than what they used to, for FAR more money. This place is a "Fast-Food" restaurant, that's trying to, pretend, that it's a "fine dining" establishment, with the prices they charge compared to the portions they serve. Example?? For what they USED to serve, which was well cooked, and a reallly good sized portions of, which WAS a really great, 3 pieces of fish, on a large plate overflowing with fries, at a reasonable price, has now gone to 3 smaller pieces of fish, (a LOT of times WAY overcooked, in fact practically burnt for all intents and purposes), and because of the new, much smaller size of the "Large" plate, with a mediocre amount of fries. That wouldn't be so bad IF, the price for what you're receiving was any where NEAR what customers should be paying for what they are being charged!! This "New" size of a "Large" fish & chips, now costs you almost $22 plus dollars. I don't have to guess anymore, why there are no OTHER people at this place at 6pm on a Wednesday summer evening, with a hotel full of toursists right next door. I don't know how their restaurants are still surviving after all these years, but I CAN say that, in my humble opinion, if their quality of food doesn't go back to what it used to be, and they continue to charge these RIDICULOUS prices for what customers receive, they won't be able to continue to exist much longer. It's very hard for these kinds of places to continue to exist, without customers filling their restaurants! However, I can honestly say that I won't be darkening their doors again, until they go back serving great food at a "Reasonable" price!! Best of luck with that!! read more

I'll admit that it's been a long time since I lived in Fredericton, but when I was there, I went to this restaurant a few times, and it was very good. I don't know why they don't have more stars. Yes, it's fast food to an extent, but they have meals that you can't find in the rest of Canada outside the Atlantic provinces. For instance, their clam strips are delicious. There are deep fried and chewy. I tried to get something similar when I lived in Calgary and it was almost impossible. I was getting pieces of fried clams there, whereas in Fredericton you get a big portion of clams. Some people dip them in tartar sauce, but I just like to eat them plain. They also have very good french fries. While it isn't the healthiest food and not something I would eat every day, it still is very good and fresh. I also like the breaded scallops. There's a lot of breading, but if it's too much, you can always peel it off and eat the scallop by itself. The next time I go to Fredericton or Saint John, I want to stop by that restaurant. I haven't been to New Brunswick in years and I have no reason to go back at the moment, but you never know. I might decide to go to New River Beach someday, the place I went as a child, and if I stop by Fredericton or Saint John (which is much closer to the beach), I'd like to get some delicious scallops or clam strips. I just forgot that there is a restaurant right at the beach, which also has good food, so I might go to Deluxe on a day that I don't go to the beach. It's fast food fish. What more can you expect than mediocre food. I go with my enthusiastic parents- who are fish lovers and enjoy stopping in here when they are in Freddy. By their outdated menus with faded pictures of food and an outdated semi-clean eating space, don't expect much. The options are plentiful, which is weird. But since they do fish- I decided on my latest trip to stick with fish. With a menu containing club house sandwiches, chicken, chicken wraps, and all sorts of fish combos. I stuck with a fish burger, a la carte...considering their fries are frozen (and not even in a semi- tasty way), I wanted to skip on the fries, and the fountain drinks are pricey with no refills...so I passed on those too. My parents went with clams (that didnt look too good) and fish and chips (pretty greasy and overly battered). My burger was ok, but the fish was old...lots of grey parts that were hard, but the white parts were flaky. Batter was bread crumb like- which was pretty ok. But the vegetables tasted like they sat in water forever and the bun was stale. The "sauce" was white and mayonnaise like...not that great. And it was pricey. 1 combo and 1 pop, and 2 a la carte...it was $30. Insane. read more

We were looking forward to some good NB fish after a long drive from TO. Guess we expected more, but the location along strip mall/hotel row should be the give away. Really just a fast food place with kids working the counters and fryers. Mounds of greasy fries and clams/fish. What you might expect from an old time fish truck. I had the WORST experience here. I will not bore you with the complete details, but I will say this: One older male staff member was absolutely rude. Supervisor was extremely unprofessional and rude. She also embarrassed me and my party in front of other customers in the restaurant. She gave me a very hard time even though it was their mistake with our orders. It was not their mistake that bothered me. What bothered me was the way they handled it. The manager was very condescending and "snarky". When I called to find out the owners' contact information the same female supervisor yelled at me. I will never eat there again! I am still looking into contacting the Theriault's (owners) to make them aware of the horrible customer service my family and I received, not only from staff, but also management. read more

Fish was cooked several times in a fryer and was the consistancy of rubber. The cook and manager had quite the laugh......Never Again...

I just wish I had more room to get in & out of the booths, I guess they're made for small people. I like their food, but I find the large coleslaw & the pop a bit pricey . Should have one on Fredericton North, as well ! read more

Take the time and drive 5 mins to the new deluxe which is actually clean and serves food at the proper cook times. The prospect location should be shut down. read more
