I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. I called multiple places trying to find someone to come out and assess the damage and fix it. A number of places never brothered responding, and a couple actually set up appointments and then didn't show up. After hunting around for more places to call that were decently rated, I came across Holda Construction and I am so glad that I did. They called me back promptly to discuss and asked me to send pictures. After I sent photos, they got in touch and set up a time to come out for a quote within an hour, for the next day. Mariusz came out the next day, as promised (he even called to see if he could come a little earlier than scheduled) and assessed the situation. He explained the options and what his recommendation was- but there was no pressure to agree to the work on the spot- he just asked that I call and let him know if I wanted to move forward, His quote was extremely fair and better yet, he was able to start the work within the week. When I had questions on the contract he sent over, he immediately called to talk through them, and sent an updated quote the same day. The work took two days- the guys took care of everything, including a very thorough clean up- no debris to be found! And our new garage roof and gutters look great- and we now know that they have been properly installed, so we shouldn't have a repeat of the same issues we had experienced before. John met me at my home in the late evening and provided a quote. There's no sales pitch, used car salesman tactics, demonstrations that have little real-world results, etc. With other Window companies, they push their "Cadillac" windows that give a marginal performance increase for an exponential cost. Not with Best Windows. I knew beforehand they installed Kensington brand windows. They started with the manufacturer's basic line. I inquired about the mid-level line and John provided his input on why he didn't think they were really worth the additional investment. John's pricing was straightforward. There was no "oh you get a Yelp discount" or "oops I forgot to add a window to your quote, I'll throw that in for free." It was refreshing to talk to a non-pushy company for once. Second, tonight, even during the cold, our pipe basically burst outside. While both guys were super tired, they accommodated me. Our basement floor was wet so they knew this was important. Came right out after they could find a gap at the end of the day just to help us, it was the end of their day but they were courteous and did a great job not just replacing the valve and fixing the leak but they always provide additional tips and things to look out for which is awesome. Last year I contacted every company advertising deck refinishing in all the NW suburban area home…read moreshoppers and mailers. One quoted an outrageous price, two quoted half the figure, and two promised to come out for a quote and never showed up. All had a number of poor reviews of their work on line. I held off getting the work done. This spring I contacted Pro Coat. Dave Marion quoted a fair price for the job, and warned me that he couldn't guarantee the old botched finish could be completely removed. He said his crew would test a small area and only if they could satisfactorily clean it, would they do my entire deck. His men arrived within the time frame Dave had estimated, the test cleaning worked perfectly, and within the day my deck was stripped, brightened and looking like new. A few days later Pro Coat was back and the deck was stained in an afternoon. Great care was taken to cover the side of the house next to the deck so no over-spray could get on the siding or brickwork. The yard was left immaculately clean. Alfredo did a great job of evenly and thoroughly applying the new stain to the inside and outside of the deck, despite the surrounding hedge making it difficult. My deck now looks like new, and the results were far better than I thought could possibly be achieved. Any future work I need will be done by Pro Coat, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone.
