Both were excellent and packed with flavor. The real test for me was the drive home. I live about 40 minutes away, so I didn't get to eat my sandwich right away. To my surprise, it was still warm when I got home and just as good as if I had eaten it there. That's not something you can say about most sandwiches. The fries were a pleasant surprise as well. Crispy, flavorful, and addicting enough that they barely survived the ride home. Beyond the food, I really enjoyed the shop itself. There was a great selection of specialty meats, seasonings, sauces, and unique items that made me want to take my time and look around. The place was packed, which is usually a good sign, and after trying the food, I completely understand why. It's not often that a first visit lives up to the hype, but this one did. Great food, a well-curated shop, and absolutely worth the drive. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

The store is small but items are well organized. We were most impressed with the selection of spices and dried beans. The price of Za'atar, which Richard loves sprinkled on a number of foods, was very reasonable. There were some intriguing things in the freezer case so we picked up cheese puffs, cheese rolls, and mini pizzas. In the canned food section we got stuffed eggplant and we also got some of my favorite dried lentil soup. Like other reviewers have noted their was no friendly greeting or much interaction while checking out. And without going into detail, I wish the check-out person had been wearing a mask and I was glad we were.
