No star rating due place is closing. Reason I won't be recommending this place is the owner will be shutting down this winter. The real estate management aren't renewing any leases. They are remodeling the whole building into another "condo". Just what the town needs. Sarcasm implied. 2 Stars - The breakfasts we had were not memorable anyway. Basic flapjacks, potato hash, sausage and eggs. The eggs were the Only thing to redeem the entree. Perfectly cooked. The toast was use to get the running warm yolk into our mouths. The coffee was slightly better than your hotel room coffee. Now with that said, if you need something filling and you are hungry, this is the place for you. There were only two people working there and our server was pleasant and professional. Hard working people who will have to get another job somewhere else. The restaurant business is "cut-throat" and if you are able to make a least 6% profit, then you are doing a lot better than most eateries. It is a shame the place is closing down because you can see the history in the place however, progress is require to grow. This thought is not always a good thing.

This place has been around forever in Bethesda. Not sure if they're going to redo the building or not but as of February it's still alive and kicking and producing amazing breakfast every day! Great coffee also and good service.

A locals only favorite. No drama no fuss, very humble old diner vibes and straightforward food. Amazing pricing you won't find anywhere else. Not many spots like this anymore. Very pocket friendly and I have no complaint

    Cute little seating nooks!

Very relaxing with good service and great food! Parking garage around the corner. Friendly people.

This is my favorite breakfast place in Bethesda. So many blocks in that area have changed beyond recognition, but this place on the corner has been a constant for years. There is metered parking on the street around the corner, plus a county garage directly across St. Elmo. It looks to me like the ownership may have changed, but the great quality has not. They have many options on their all day menu. We had breakfast today: I chose a spinach and feta omelet, which was perfect. Grits are an option instead of potatoes, and grits always make me happy. They have table service; this is not a "place your order at the counter" experience. It is a friendly, relaxing spot.

Another visit with my parents on a Saturday morning. We got seated upon arrival at a table near the window as it was pretty packed at around 10:20 AM. Got some coffee, Orange Juice, Water along with our breakfast entrees. I got a Ham and Cheese Omelette and it tasted great! Service is always excellent by a Korean family who runs the restaurant. Great to support this local business!

I had a lovely BLT and french fries. They were quite empty Tuesday at lunchtime; I'm not sure that people know they are back open!

My favorite breakfast place. Nothing fancy, just good, basic diner food. And the staff are always friendly.

The long, flat top stove is the focal point of the diner and every customer can see his/her order being prepared. The old-timey wooden booths are a throw-back design and solid, refills of hot coffee are done regularly, and you can get your food cooked as you want it. It's old-style service, meaning that it's efficient, straight forward. All I've ever gotten here is breakfast, so can't speak to the lunch and dinner menus. Breakfast is available all day, so love that. I enjoy this place, puts me in a good mood. Last time that I was in (yesterday), the waitress was excellent, attending to our every need. The French toast was spot on, the sausage patties were hearty, and the eggs prepared nicely. The rye toast was lovely and balanced; a lighter rye not dominated by too many caraway seeds and toasted golden. 'Nuff said.

Tastee Diner is solidly in the latter category. The food is not particularly good, and not particularly cheap. It's just a very, very old room. Do yourself a favor. Step in, take in the ambiance, and then go have an actually good meal at one of the many other good restaurants within a few blocks of here!

Today, our server was really nice but would disappear for long periods even though there weren't many customers at the time we were there. Our hostess, MJ was amazing and helpful. She is the perfect person to welcome people to Silver Diner. My Organic Bison Huevos Rancheros was absolutely phenomenal. Such an excellent and spicy flavor with guacamole, two over-easy eggs, peppers, chives, goat cheese, and more. Delicious to say the least. My girlfriend's grilled cheese on sourdough was fantastic. However, the tomato bisque was quite acidic. I had one taste and couldn't continue. We left almost a full bowl and we hate to waste food. Even so, we know what Silver Diner is capable of delivering and we will definitely return.
