This place has been around forever in Bethesda. Not sure if they're going to redo the building or not but as of February it's still alive and kicking and producing amazing breakfast every day! Great coffee also and good service.

A locals only favorite. No drama no fuss, very humble old diner vibes and straightforward food. Amazing pricing you won't find anywhere else. Not many spots like this anymore. Very pocket friendly and I have no complaint

    Cute little seating nooks!

Very relaxing with good service and great food! Parking garage around the corner. Friendly people.

This is my favorite breakfast place in Bethesda. So many blocks in that area have changed beyond recognition, but this place on the corner has been a constant for years. There is metered parking on the street around the corner, plus a county garage directly across St. Elmo. It looks to me like the ownership may have changed, but the great quality has not. They have many options on their all day menu. We had breakfast today: I chose a spinach and feta omelet, which was perfect. Grits are an option instead of potatoes, and grits always make me happy. They have table service; this is not a "place your order at the counter" experience. It is a friendly, relaxing spot.

Another visit with my parents on a Saturday morning. We got seated upon arrival at a table near the window as it was pretty packed at around 10:20 AM. Got some coffee, Orange Juice, Water along with our breakfast entrees. I got a Ham and Cheese Omelette and it tasted great! Service is always excellent by a Korean family who runs the restaurant. Great to support this local business!

My favorite breakfast place. Nothing fancy, just good, basic diner food. And the staff are always friendly.

Tastee Diner is a historical landmark, no frills, no latees, just good old-fashioned comfort food…read more We were seated in April's section, and she was an absolute treat! She's funny, attentive, and gives honest food recommendations if you're undecided on the menu. She's also incredibly talented -- we watched her balance six cups of coffee to another table without using a tray! On our first visit, a Saturday morning, we ordered the blueberry pancakes (I love when the blueberries are cooked into the pancakes instead of just sprinkled on top), scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, potatoes with onions, and coffee. Everything was affordable and delicious, so much so that we came back two days later. On our second visit, a Monday, we asked to be seated in April's section! She actually remembered us because we shared the potatoes the first time and she even asked if we wanted to share them again (yes, please... and she brought two small plates!). This time we had scrambled eggs, potatoes with onions, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, toast, and a biscuit. We even dropped some quarters into the tabletop jukebox for the full diner experience. I'd definitely visit again and have already recommended it to relatives who live in the area!

Tastee Diner is solidly in the latter category. The food is not particularly good, and not particularly cheap. It's just a very, very old room. Do yourself a favor. Step in, take in the ambiance, and then go have an actually good meal at one of the many other good restaurants within a few blocks of here!

My company and I have different likes so we disagreed on favorites but the good news is someone loved everything! We tried the short rib and salmon sliders. Short rib has sweet flavor. I would order both again. The friend pickles were what you'd think they would be but I was wanting a stronger pickle flavor. The crab beignets were a hit for both of us. The broiled potatoes had too much of a garlic flavor for me. Tasted good but honestly would've been better if they came as advertised, broiled potatoes. No garlic oil which clashed with the side of ketchup. Just crispy salted potatoes would've complimented the meal better. Everything was happy hour prices which I loved because it allowed me to try lots of things. It's worth the early seating and I'll definitely be back. Again, kudos to the awesome staff!

The service was so so considering the size of the restaurant. There seemed to be plenty of servers but we had to flag them down to order, get coffee refills and get the check. We liked the food. They had an interesting shukshuka that 2 people got and finished every bit. They also got a side of potato "hash" but they were really just diced roasted potatoes. Not worth the $6 price but worked for soaking up the shukshuka gravy. We had one beet salad that was very nice. We ordered the beignets at the end and they were just fair. We would still go back to try other things!
