My daughter and I had a French crepe moo la la and it was delicious. The crepe was so yummy. One of the best crepe we ever had Sam was our waiter and he was very polite and fast :)

We had a great experience at Demetres. Sarah provided excellent service and was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our visit. She let us know that every dessert on the menu could be customized, which made choosing much easier. We ordered the Cone-afa Sundae and swapped the honey vanilla ice cream for the ube flavour. It arrived promptly, and the presentation was beautiful. The tall sundae was layered with vibrant ube ice cream, pistachio kunafa, waffle cone pieces, chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry on top, making it look just as good as it tasted. The quality of the dessert really stood out. The ube ice cream had a rich, authentic flavour, and the layers of crunchy granola added a nice contrast in texture, making every bite satisfying. It was a well-balanced dessert that wasn't overly sweet, and we really enjoyed every spoonful.

I ordered the artisanal ice cream, specifically the Ministry of Mango Sorbetto and Chocolate Cashmere flavours. It came with a cute little waffle cone piece, and the presentation was adorable. Both flavours were delicious, and the ice cream tasted incredibly fresh. Our server, Sarah, was quick and efficient, making the overall experience great.

    Tongue depressor

Came to Demetres after work for a late night dessert and tried the Tongue Depressor. Food quality was so good, creamy and rich without being too heavy. Food presentation was super cute and fun. Customer service was amazing even that late, really friendly staff.

Worst location ive ever been to.... Ordered an iced drink and it came warm..... Ordered the dubai chocolate waffle thins dip and they came burnt. Sent it back and it came back still burnt. Maybe one shade lighter... Asked for shared plates and they came after all the ice cream melted... not even exaggerating. Funny thing is, when i waved my server down (cuz no one was paying any attention to us) to tell her about the drink, she was like oh no they forgot the ice didnt they. So you knew!!!! But still served me a warm drink one the cold drinks menu. I dont get it.

Ube eats on a French crepe

The customer service was excellent. The server maya was extremely attentive and nice. We got the matchamatics and ube eats on french crepes. The presentation was adequate, but missing the ube wafer sticks as per the menu. When we brought it up to the server she escalated to her manager, who then apologized for it being out of stock, and offered ice cream or extra toppings in place. The ordered items were delicious and generously portioned.

    Cocoa ono cake

Came here for a late night dessert. We tried the cocoa ono cake which was a chocolate fudge cake with honey vanilla ice cream. It was quite a dense cake and a little dry. It was very chocolatey and rich so the ice cream lightened it up. The honey ice cream was quite good but the more we ate the cake it started to not taste as great. Overall it was okay and satisfies a sweet craving but was nothing amazing. The service was quick, nothing to complain about. The interior is a little outdated so not the biggest fan of the look. The Markham location is much nicer inside (although it is newer).

Splitsonia Belgian waffle with added banana slices + Belgian hot chocolate

I normally would go to the downtown Markham location since it is the nicely renovated one, buy decided to try this Richmond location on a Friday evening. I was pleased to see that there were quite a lot of patrons here! Ordered the Splitsonia Belgian waffle which includes strawberry slices, strawberry coulis sauce, and a scoop of honey vanilla ice cream. I paid an extra $3.50 for banana slices. The ice cream itself was delicious and highly recommend it. The strawberries were super sour, and was a mix of fresh and frozen strawberries. The coulis was as you'd expect. The waffle was not crispy. This would be solved if they let the waffle to cool after cooking as this helps to harden the waffle a bit, before adding any toppings. The Belgian hot chocolate arrived warm rather than hot. So much so that the toasted marshmallow on it didnt melt at all. This $8 drink didn't feel premium as one would expect from a Belgian hot chocolate, and I wouldn't recommend this. Service was rather friendly and fast. Overall, I enjoyed the evening here.

I recently had a fantastic experience with quick and good customer service at Demetres. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer was promptly served and had their needs met. They were knowledgeable about the menu and helped me choose the perfect waffle dessert to suit my taste. The service was efficient, and I didn't have to wait long for my order. Overall, the quick and good customer service at Demetres made my visit enjoyable and left me with a positive impression.! The Tongue Depressor - Belgian Waffle at Demetres is an indulgent treat! You'll enjoy a mouthwatering combination of a fluffy Belgian waffle topped with rich Cocoa Chanel ice cream, fudge brownies, white chocolate buttons, and drizzled with French dark chocolate sauce. It's a decadent dessert that's worth every bite!

Admittedly, this isn't the most beautiful location Demetres has, the parking lot is rather small, and Yonge Street can be a little hectic; however, I appreciate this location a lot for the friendly service and home-y feel! Plus, you get what you would get at other locations as well - the same huge portion and beautiful presentation! I always look over at other tables and see people ordering an entire dessert to themselves and I never understand how they do it! I typically share my crepes with one other person, and that alone is more than enough for me (and it comes up to ~$13.50 plus tax for a crepe decked out with syrups, ice cream and toppings). I appreciate that Demetres always finds different artists to design their menus. It's refreshing and very unique! Bonus: this location is right across the street from Hillcrest so you can walk off your full belly after and feel less guilty about all the sweets you just ingested.

Delicious crepe. I love their freshly made crepes and waffles. There ice cream scoops are generous too.

    Smithsonian
    Rachel L.

Such a delicious crepe place. We got the Smithsonian crepe and it was packed with strawberries, bananas, ice cream and whipped cream. The chocolate drizzle was so delicious on top of the dish. We did also add brownie bits to the dish as well and it was well worth the $2. The only reason it's not a 5 star review Is because we had to wait 15-20 minute wait for a table that we realized it was available the entire time.

The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

We also got two Dalgona Lattes, one with oat milk, and she differentiated them with the coasters, which was such an adorable touch. Now I need to go back just to try more drinks! The space itself is bright, cozy, and modern. It's great for a casual brunch. The menu focuses on creative takes on classic brunch dishes, with most plates around $18-$25 and drinks about $6-$9. We tried the pork sausage shakshouka, pork jowl eggs benny, and a strawberry matcha latte. The drink was a standout--refreshing, nicely layered, and not overly sweet. The dishes themselves had good flavors and promising concepts. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes for a table during the busy Saturday brunch rush, and parking around the plaza was difficult. When the food arrived, the eggs in both the eggs benny and the shakshouka were overcooked, which was disappointing since runny yolks are key to both dishes. Overall, Corner Cafe has a nice vibe and an interesting brunch menu, but the long wait, tough parking, and inconsistent execution made the experience fall short this time.
