Ube eats on a French crepe
    Dominic Y.

The customer service was excellent. The server maya was extremely attentive and nice. We got the matchamatics and ube eats on french crepes. The presentation was adequate, but missing the ube wafer sticks as per the menu. When we brought it up to the server she escalated to her manager, who then apologized for it being out of stock, and offered ice cream or extra toppings in place. The ordered items were delicious and generously portioned.

Came here for a late night dessert. We tried the cocoa ono cake which was a chocolate fudge cake with honey vanilla ice cream. It was quite a dense cake and a little dry. It was very chocolatey and rich so the ice cream lightened it up. The honey ice cream was quite good but the more we ate the cake it started to not taste as great. Overall it was okay and satisfies a sweet craving but was nothing amazing. The service was quick, nothing to complain about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is a little outdated so not the biggest fan of the look.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Markham location is much nicer inside (although it is newer).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Splitsonia Belgian waffle with added banana slices + Belgian hot chocolate
    Jason T.

I normally would go to the downtown Markham location since it is the nicely renovated one, buy decided to try this Richmond location on a Friday evening. I was pleased to see that there were quite a lot of patrons here! Ordered the Splitsonia Belgian waffle which includes strawberry slices, strawberry coulis sauce, and a scoop of honey vanilla ice cream. I paid an extra $3.50 for banana slices. The ice cream itself was delicious and highly recommend it. The strawberries were super sour, and was a mix of fresh and frozen strawberries. The coulis was as you'd expect. The waffle was not crispy. This would be solved if they let the waffle to cool after cooking as this helps to harden the waffle a bit, before adding any toppings. The Belgian hot chocolate arrived warm rather than hot. So much so that the toasted marshmallow on it didnt melt at all. This $8 drink didn't feel premium as one would expect from a Belgian hot chocolate, and I wouldn't recommend this. Service was rather friendly and fast. Overall, I enjoyed the evening here.

I recently had a fantastic experience with quick and good customer service at Demetres. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer was promptly served and had their needs met. They were knowledgeable about the menu and helped me choose the perfect waffle dessert to suit my taste. The service was efficient, and I didn't have to wait long for my order. Overall, the quick and good customer service at Demetres made my visit enjoyable and left me with a positive impression.! The Tongue Depressor - Belgian Waffle at Demetres is an indulgent treat! You'll enjoy a mouthwatering combination of a fluffy Belgian waffle topped with rich Cocoa Chanel ice cream, fudge brownies, white chocolate buttons, and drizzled with French dark chocolate sauce. It's a decadent dessert that's worth every bite!

Admittedly, this isn't the most beautiful location Demetres has, the parking lot is rather small, and Yonge Street can be a little hectic; however, I appreciate this location a lot for the friendly service and home-y feel! Plus, you get what you would get at other locations as well - the same huge portion and beautiful presentation! I always look over at other tables and see people ordering an entire dessert to themselves and I never understand how they do it! I typically share my crepes with one other person, and that alone is more than enough for me (and it comes up to ~$13.50 plus tax for a crepe decked out with syrups, ice cream and toppings). I appreciate that Demetres always finds different artists to design their menus. It's refreshing and very unique! Bonus: this location is right across the street from Hillcrest so you can walk off your full belly after and feel less guilty about all the sweets you just ingested.

Delicious crepe. I love their freshly made crepes and waffles. There ice cream scoops are generous too.

Such a delicious crepe place. We got the Smithsonian crepe and it was packed with strawberries, bananas, ice cream and whipped cream. The chocolate drizzle was so delicious on top of the dish. We did also add brownie bits to the dish as well and it was well worth the $2. The only reason it's not a 5 star review Is because we had to wait 15-20 minute wait for a table that we realized it was available the entire time.

To be honest, under my anticipation of this place because I have collected for a long time and finely to visited a few days ago. The service was excellent, and the space was nice too. But the desserts were too sweet for both of us, and the capacity of the food was big enough that no one could be finished it.

Demetre is a chain so it's a pretty predictable experience (e.g., a great place for date night). Where the locations differ is not on the menu, but on the ambiance, service, and busyness. This location is not as nice as the Vaughan one, but the service was decent and it's not nearly as busy (you're pretty much guaranteed to wait anywhere from 15-45 minutes in Vaughan on a Friday or Saturday night). My favourite ice cream flavour is white chocolate - it's just subtly sweet, unlike some of the other flavours.

Demetres is a classic! The renovations make this place way more youthful/hip than they used to be. Demetres is a little expensive compared to other dessert options but the ambience of the place makes up for this a little bit. A crepe with ice cream is about $14.50 and the waffle is $15.50. I shared the Splitsonian crepe, which has strawberries, bananas and Nutella. We didn't realize till later we can still build our own crepes and it will cost the same! We might try that next time. This location was BUSY on a Saturday night at 11PM. Didn't have to wait long but it was pretty much at full capacity.

Don't get it why people are crazy about this place....?! I only tried Waffles and in my opinion they are very mediocre ones plus a scoop of regular ice-cream on top which you can easily find in supermarkets! Nothing special about the taste of these desserts except they are really huge and appealing and if you are craving something sweet you can go there and they are big enough to share with s/o else. Maybe other desserts are better I have no idea! The place itself is toooo busy and noisy and you have to stand in the line for a long time! I think it is enough to go to this place once. You can buy a 6-pack of Waffles for $5 and put your favorite ice-cream on it and pure your favorite sauce on top instead of paying $13.

The only fruit they had was mango and strawberries. We opted for a Mango Bingsu, based on the photos displayed and we enjoy the sweetness and softness of mango. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think that it would be served with frozen mango which is usually used for blending smoothies!! My partner did not want to return the barely edible bingsu. The favourite on the dessert was the single small scoop of green tea ice-cream which formed the "leaf" of the strawberry decoration. I truly do recommend getting your bingsu fix elsewhere. I won't be returning. The store is located in the eatery section of H Mart, with ample parking outside in the plaza. I tried 2 of their roll cakes and 6 mochi and can confirm that their desserts aren't too sweet. Their mochi is also amazing - delicious flavours and the mochi skin is super thin. When I drove here the first time, I used Waze and didn't arrive successfully. Whether using a driving app, such as Google Maps or Waze, it led me to the wrong building. Both referenced building A. The address has this store being a part of building D. It's basically the building across from A, but the east side. In other words, you are driving along the third-last aisle that's parallel to Leslie. Waze has corrected the issue. Google Maps hasn't. Use Waze to get here. There were plenty of parking spots in front of the store. It was shaded there. I backed into a spot both times and walked in. I got a different female staffers on both visits. They were both helpful and warm. I have had the matcha KitKat mochi, which had bits of KitKat. Each mochi is individually enclosed in a box. It feels like opening a jewellery box. The mochi is delicate and a decent size. I am not a huge whipped cream person. However, the KitKat was broken up into two pieces and surrounded by the whipped cream. The filling was amazing! It was light and yummy. The mochi had matcha powder on top. It had a subtle matcha taste. The mochi was delicate, but still strong enough to hold in the filling. It was so soft and almost malleable. It was the best mochi that I have had in eons! This visit, I got a six-pack of these mochi flavours: - Mango - Pineapple coconut - Lychee - Golden kiwi - Nutella banana - Strawberry banana If you get six or more mochi, you save a bit. If you pay with cash, the tax is waived off. The mango mochi was awesome! It had diced mango mixed in with the whipped cream. It was dreamy. I got to sample a strawberry marshmallow bar during my first visit. It's not really a bar. It's more of a square. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was slightly sweet. The marshmallow is an experience. It's not squishy like a typical marshmallow. It's crispy on the outside, but softish and moist inside. It's pretty cool. It's not quite dehydrated, but it's halfway there. I got the honeydew marshmallow bars in a little bag last time. They had a natural sweetness to it thanks to the honeydew. It was so good. This time, I got a jar of strawberry marshmallow bars. They still taste as yummy as the first time I had one. Delicious! I ended up getting a couple of cake rolls during my first visit. Both flavours, the taro lychee and ube coconut, were still available this return visit. I rattled off everything that I had bought the last time that the nice woman during my most recent visit gave me a chocolate Oreo cake on the house. Wow! I wasn't expecting that kind gesture at all. The chocolate Oreo cake is decadent. There's chocolate pudding in the middle that is divine! I loved the other two flavours, but the chocolate Oreo is now my new favourite flavour. This place accepts credit and debit cards as payment methods. I used a credit card both times. You can tip if you'd like. All desserts are slightly sweet, with the mochi being a touch sweeter than the cake rolls. If you are like me who doesn't like overly sugary items, the desserts at this store are for you. This place is such a gem. I originally had one mochi. It was not enough! I wanted more and returned to indulge some more. If you love mochi and unique desserts, like marshmallow bars, come here. You won't be disappointed. (333)
