I enjoyed spending a little time with them as they worked on the system in my unit. The installation itself looks great. No unsightly wires and everything done efficiently and cleanly. Service Requested: Camera installation, upgrades, and system troubleshooting…read moreQuality: 3/5- their cameras do not offer the audible noise that they advertise Value of service: 3/5 - could be improved by offering multiple ranges of camera options instead of the most expensive one knowing customers will ask for other options to compare. We've used Halcyon Mobile Security Solutions for almost 5 years even through an ownership change for various upgrades, repairs, and new camera installations. Overall, the quality of their work has been solid once completed, and their technicians are knowledgeable and professional on-site. We did run into an issue with a camera that was sold to us by a previous rep (who is no longer with the company). The camera's speaker never worked as promised, and it took quite a bit of back and forth to troubleshoot. While the team eventually helped address the concern, communication delays made it harder to resolve quickly. Another recent project, getting a quote and installation for an additional camera -- took about two weeks from start to finish. While that's not terrible, shortening that turnaround could really improve the customer experience and help boost their sales, since responsiveness is key in this kind of service. Despite some bumps, we continue to use Halcyon because they do solid work once the ball gets rolling. With a few improvements to follow-up times and communication, they could easily earn that fifth star.

While I received many responses, I felt that I received the best customer service from Doug. I needed two TVs mounted at my home ASAP. We agreed on Saturday, but then he suggested he could do the job later this evening if my schedule permitted. I agreed and he said he would text me a little later to confirm and solidify time depending on the conclusion of his last job. Around 3:30pm I received a text asking if I was going to be available and we agreed on a 5-6pm arrival time. At 5:27pm I received a text from Doug letting me know that he would be arriving closer to 6pm. I really appreciated the communication and respect for my time. He arrived promptly at 6pm on the dot. When I asked did he have booties, he said he did not, but promptly removed his shoes before entering my home without me even having ask him. Very respectful. I then showed him the job and by about 6:05-6:10ish he was starting his work. He mounted one 75inch in my living room that already had electrical and mount installed from my last tv install. He also mounted a 50inch in our bedroom and ran the expertly ran the electrical through the wall. He completed the entire job in less than an hour! He was walking out of my house at 7:10pm and that was with me fumbling around with my Venmo app to pay him. My wife eventually just wrote him a check. He even took the time to program our remotes for us which was very nice of him. All in all, I would DEFINITELY use my man Doug again. This is only his second review on yelp but he definitely is a professional. Do not hesitate to contact him. We're glad we did!

Excellent Work on Our Access Control System!…read more I am very impressed with the service we received from Ameritechs. They came in to handle the wiring for our current Access Control Unit and did a fantastic job. They were thorough, testing every single lead to ensure everything was wired correctly. Thanks to their expertise, all of our strikes and doors are now functioning perfectly within our system. Professional, efficient, and highly skilled--I would definitely recommend them. Thank you for the great work!

The problem started when Ameritechs installed 10 cameras on my home camera system and did not…read morerecord the passwords or give them to me. I don't know anything about cameras and passwords so I didn't know to ask. When it came time to change the NVR, I was told they don't have the passwords and will charge me $750 to retrieve them from the cameras. I shouldn't have to pay for something they should have provided in the first place. Chris came over for $50 and examined the cameras, the analog ones that needed to be replaced, and suggested a new NVR. I got an estimate for $3030 to replace 3 cameras and the NVR and reconnect existing cameras to NVR. Without NVR it was $2130. There were no details about specs for the cameras or NVR. That's like sending a customer an invoice for $30,000 for "a car." People generally want a little more detail about what they're getting. I asked that they first just come out to retrieve the passwords for the 10 cameras, fix camera #7 that stopped working, and fix a screw that their tech stripped when he installed that camera. They said they wanted $750 to retrieve the passwords. They also wanted to charge $129 for someone to come out again and look at the cameras again, when I just paid $50 for Chris to look at them. And I maintain that I should not have to pay for something that they should have provided to begin with. I asked how many TB was in the Uniview NVR as the estimate didn't specify. The first time I was told it "supported storage" of 16TB to 32TB. Next email said the NVR comes pre-installed with 4TB storage. Next email said the NVR on the estimate does not come with any storage - they planned to reuse the old hard drives from my existing NVR - but no one ever asked me about that. Those drives were at least 5 years old and at end of life. If I wanted new hard drives, it would be an extra charge. I asked if cameras were 4K (the estimate only says 4MP). Finally, was told they would be 2K at $140 each. I asked about the warranty for the equipment. They said it's manufacturer warranty, not theirs, but didn't know and never said what it was. Isn't that something that every buyer wants to know? What is the warranty! Next estimate added $200 to reset the camera #7 that was not working, plus $750 to reset the other 10 cameras so I would have the passwords plus the $3030 for 3 new cameras and NVR - so $4624. And that probably didn't include any hard drive for the NVR as they were going to reuse my old ones. I got a lot of other confusing emails from Kanani interjecting things we never discussed like suddenly asking me if I wanted a hybrid DVR. I don't need a hybrid DVR. Then Kanani thought I wanted Uniview cameras. I never said that. Every time I asked a question, I got a different answer. Every time, the price got higher or didn't include some component that would be extra. I had another company come out to try and reset the camera passwords. He said that brand of camera TVT (Shenzhen TVT Digital Technology Co., Ltd) is difficult and takes 45 minutes to reset the password for each camera and get it onto the Avalonix XVR (which is why Ameritechs didn't want to do it either). He said it would be cheaper to replace the cameras with new 8K cameras. So, the 10 cameras that I just paid Ameritechs $4,439 to install in the past two years are now worthless. That doesn't seem like good customer service. I feel I was taken advantage of - I'm a senior citizen now and a woman alone and always a target to be ripped off because I don't know what I don't know. I think we might end up in small claims court because I really got screwed over. I don't have energy for it but some things you can't let stand.

As a senior citizen, I rely on my home security system for peace of mind--but for months, my ADT system has been non-functional. I made dozens of phone calls, each taking up to an hour just to get past the maze of hold music and transfers. After finally reaching someone who could help, I was told I needed a brand-new system and a new contract. So I agreed, trusting that this would finally resolve the issue. Wrong. A technician came to my home and spent over 6 hours trying to install the system--only to tell me it wouldn't work without new motion sensors, which I had to pay for out of pocket. I was also misled into thinking the new system would work with my existing cameras. It doesn't. The best part? After all that time, effort, and money--the new system doesn't even work. It constantly malfunctions, giving false alerts and telling me doors are open when they're not. Total failure. This is a company that profits off fear, offers misleading sales pitches, fails to deliver basic service, and then has the audacity to lock you into a contract. Their "customer service" is a joke--disorganized, evasive, and completely indifferent to your time and safety. Do yourself a favor--don't walk, RUN from ADT.
