I am familiar with this company because they always doing some kind of celebrity escorting at the events I attend. But then I realized they also do private security like dropping by at an empty building and gave out tickets and warnings. Since my car has a handicap placard, I could park on any ADA spots, yet this heartless property manager have been stalking and pressuring me for not parking here, then I got more than a ticket or warning. DO NOT WORK HERE. Their communication is trash. That's supposed to be a key part in business. Interviews are automated, you'll go in just to be turned away or offered a job but no response. Got offered an in person job, got 0 replies about a start date. A month later I applied for a different position, went to a site interview, was offered the position. 0 response in 2 weeks. Called for an update each week, said they'll get back to me after asking site managers. As a veteran this was complete garbage. They just want to fill slots for anyone incompetent so skim you off pay and find a replacement that also doesn't know what to do in security. Ended up going to a different company and started 3 days late with full communication thru the process. If your interviewer is Alyssa, don't bother,she never replies texts, doesn't answer her phone, no email replies, and her voicemail is always full. As for the other recruiters, they try but in the end, don't reply as well. All new kids that have 0 communication work ethics. read more

Today is Friday May 3rd at the Amtrak Station approx 3:20pm. The Allied Universal guard (AA Female) is hanging out with other staff, not paying attention to the safety of riders. There is a man in a wheelchair who was trying to cross trolley tracks and was stuck, trolley coming, while this Allied guard was laughing and hanging out with other staff. This is the San Diego AMTRAK STATION!!! All it takes is 1 inattentive guard, like this one......and THATS HOW ACCIDENTS OCCUR!!! No company doesn't like to pay guards correctly. There is a high work place harassment, retaliation and hostile work environment that is very normal. Human Resources does bare minimum with assisting issues. Many guards are scared to speak up about their experiences due to retaliation. Second incident with this company. Same parking lot two different "guards" I am RVing currently as I have once previously and really am enjoying traveling around and soaking up cool weather as the area I live is very hot already and getting hotter. That being said, I have had run ins with security guards telling me not to overnight park. In the middle of the day. Lol. I go to the gym in the parking lot this occurred in. Someone made an announcement in the gym that the security was knocking on the rv and if it was someone inside to let them know. So I walked outside when I hadn't even been there long. The parking lot was only about 70% full and I was parked far since I am oversized. I only took up a parking space and was just over the line to the left I see the security guy from across the lot taking pictures up on top trying to see INSIDE the rv with his phone which I think is SUPER creepy. Just weird. By the time I get to the end of the lot he finally drove away. He had to been there at least 15-20 minutes based on time it took me to get my stuff out and out to the parking lot. I go up to the window, and there is a piece of paper that looks like a ticket. Uh, okay... It was marked "parked in a no parking area" uh...no. I was in a fully marked spot next to other vehicles in spaces. I was a bit over the left line but I would have MAYBE understood if there wasn't over 100 open spots in the lot. The. It was written "no rvs allowed on property " and yet I cleared it with the guy at the gym and he said that wasn't true, as long as I was a patron and not excessively parking there. I also searched around and found not a single posted sign. It's almost as if...he made it up lol The fake ticket stated I could be towed or ticketed at my expense, but when I looked at the law for private parking for public use it states they have to give 96 hours notice. Hey buddy, you are about 94 hours to early there. Haha I sat and watched, looked at the other cars who clearly were car-living and had been there since the day before when I was there (about 14 hours previously 7ish pm the night before I was at the gym too). He ignored them completely. The second incident the DAY after I was parked against the edge of the lot with like ten other cars and the lady saw me go to my vehicle and get in and she blared her siren until I came out...annoying...and then she told me I had to leave because I "can't park here" but yet no issue with the other cars parked along there? It is such a shame that a building that you would consider a "Class A"  building would hire a security by the name of OMAR at DIAMOND VIEW BY PETCO PARK - extremely rude not only to me that I lease in the building but to my sister and I have had clients complain about him as well. After leasing for about 3-4 years now diamond view has disappointed me. I was disrespected while on I was in the lobby. I can also add that other clients are very unhappy with his nasty attitude. Worked for the company for 3 years. It's a joke. Supervisors have no idea what they're doing and are severely underqualified. Account Managers are just as bad. Good luck EVER contacting HQ for literally anything, you will ALWAYS have to physically go up there for even miniscule trivial things. I had to relocate once and the person giving me a position (Who I'm assuming was in some type of HR/Manager position with the company) kept complaining and making it seem like I was the problem; despite supervisors never giving me breaks or lunches for MONTHS. I accepted a job with universal protection services in 2012 for Sacramento office. I worked for them for almost 5 years never received a raise. I was never late and I rarely called off in 5 years maybe 4 days total. In 2015 they terminated me on a rumor that I said something, and there was no investigation I was just terminated.I have nothing but bad things to say about this company, as soon as they hire you they're trying to fire you. Allied Universal - Security Systems Near Me - San Diego, California

I worked for Allied Universal a couple of years ago, and left on good terms. I enjoyed my job and had a great boss. But, I found a better job with great benefits and great pay, 104 hours of PTO, and 13 paid holidays, but have been laid off. Now, I am back in the job hunt. What i've noticed is that Allied Universal has the biggest sector of security jobs. With the company being so big (and they just bought out American Security), why don't they offer better pay and better insurance? PTO and paid holidays would be a huge plus. At $11.33 an hour and $82 out of check each week, a single person can not make it like that. Get it together AU, and just maybe you can keep some good employees and not have such a turnover. read more

I am writing about a most wonderful Security Officer, Doug Wilmer who works in Mission Valley, San Diego at the Hazard Center. He is very friendly, consciences, deeply care about people and an all around good guy. My Daughter has mental illness run away from home and ended up hiding out at the Mission Valley Hazard Center for quiet a while. I was asking around trying to find her when I met Doug. He took her picture, my phone number and promised to keep his eye on her. As a Father, he understood what I am going through missing my Daughter. He found her next day and comforted her. Doug let me know that she is found, and was able to get the Pert team transport her to the hospital. Thank you so much, Doug. You show a good example how to be a wonderful human being. I recommend that Allied Universal give him a raise for doing a great job for 5 years. read more

This is not a security company. If anything then take the money from the property they should be providing service too. I live in the Griffis Mission Valley Apartments in San Diego and have not seen this company once do their job. I call them to report homeless people all over our property and nothing changes. The only thing they seem to do is drive the car to the top floor of our parking garage, which you would think they'd be good at securing the garage. We constantly have people getting their car's broken into and homeless people living in our stairways and the top of the garage. I would not recommend anyone use Allied Universal for security. The worst part of it is I can't give them a lower star, they haven't even earned this one star. You'd be better off standing outside of your business with a candle than having these guys patrol your property. read more

This place is a hot mess. The person in charge is honestly horrible at communicating, it doesn't matter if there's an emergency, or something happens in your life because it takes days or even weeks to hear back from anyone. If you quit, get fired, or give your 30 day notice it takes them awhile to issue your last pay. Clearly shows they aren't familiar with California's labor code section 201 and section 203. Our account manager has completely alienated all the guards from the management team by stripping the watch commander's of all authority, lying to the guards on a regular basis, bullying the guards to get what she wants & mirco-managing every little thing that both the watch commander's and guards do. I was met at the Michaels exit in North County Square yesterday at noon. The security officer had been called since i had told the manager of the store that i cannot medically wear a mask. I have a SEVERE panic disorder, stemming from a traumatic crime committed against me. I had told the officer that i was medically exempt and he repeatedly asked me why. SUPER ILLEGAL. I'd make sure your employees know the HIPPA laws, especially since i could've called the DOJ right then and there and reported him. He was most helpful finding my Daughter who mentally challenged, and was hiding out in the Center. We have been trying to find her without success, until we me Doug. I gave Dough her picture, my name and phone number. As a Father he understood the stress I was under and promised to try to keep his eye on her. Next day he called me and told me that he located her. Dough was very kind to her, helped her to calm down. He also helped to get her to the hospital. I cannot thank Doug enough for being kind, consciences, understanding and an all around great guy. The worst behavior I have witnessed in a long time occurred today from an Allied Universal "security guard" today at Scripps Carmel Valley around 10:45am on Thursday, May 6. The "security guard" refused to give his name or information but later found out it could be Michael. In any case, the "guard" harassed an elderly Asian man who was trying to deliver food to an office on premises & then went on to berate a woman who stood up for the food delivery man who was on her way to a doctors appointment. Under the supervision of Eric, Francisco was permitted to repeatedly write disciplinary reports based solely on conjecture. During his employment, Francisco was inappropriately eager to write up employees without fact checking. Eric was showing favoritism towards women by not issuing disciplinary action and write ups to women, when due. I often call them at night to come clear inconsiderate loud idiots from the hot tub and pool area. Their dispatch people on the phone are almost always rude, as if they are being bothered. Half the time their security person doesn't even show up until I've called them back two or three more times. When they do show up, it takes much too long and they don't make any difference. It's the same thing every time they show up - they politely tell the noise makers they got a noise complaint - as if they are inconveniencing the noise makers. Then they leave the properly, only for the noise makers to immediately start making noise all over again. If this isn't enough, look at all the other bad reviews they have. Wanted to give 1 star, but do not want my star to be dismissed as outlier. Allied Officer gave my vehical a warning ticket for Invalid Guest pass with final warning of tow. This ticket is in error as my guest pass (1 of 3) is assigned to me by our HOA. I called Allied number that went to voicemail with return call upon receipt of my phone number. Three days later still no return call. HOA management informed me that Universal are still investigating why they have this list, and would not use until resolved. This morning another vehicle towed due to erroneous list. They forgot to inform last night Officer..No Quality Assurance and weak management. I would never use this security force. read more
