We were so glad to have come across Hancock with Den Electric as there were so many electricians that we initially reached out to to get estimates and all but many of them were unfamiliar or not confident enough to take on our project as they have never worked with this kind of setup before or didn't really have an understanding of the vision that we were trying to go for. Hancock did a superb job on wiring up our lighting fixtures and setting up the electrical groundwork in order for us to finish our suspension drop ceiling. Even though everything was a tight and perfect fit with little room to spare, he was still able to accommodate and make it work out in the end. Overall we were very impressed with the turn out of his work. Our biggest concern was safety as we were trying to achieve that semi-commercial setup but Hancock was able to offer a solution without having to overcomplicate things in which we were very happy about. And since we had a situation where one electrical outlet was hanging outta our bathroom wall and we were concerned for the overheating of the rocker switch and electrical outlet and potential fire hazard (after our relative in-law failed to help and repair this , we had NO choice but to hire him that same evening! We hired Hancock for several electrical projects. Over text, Hancock quoted a price and we agreed, but when he arrived he added unreasonable costs on top of it. For example, we had him replace a ceiling fan. After the old fan was removed, Hancock asked to charge EXTRA to install the new fan because it didn't come as "one piece" (the blades were not attached). I've had so many ceiling fans installed throughout my life and I have never even once heard of a single ceiling fan that came as "one piece" and didn't require assembling. No other contractors ever requested extra charge. I was shocked but just paid the extra cost because he already started the project. After he left we realized that the light from the same outlet didn't work anymore. We requested Hancock to come back to fix it, but he said he needs to charge if he comes back. I didn't want to deal with him anymore, so I hired another electrician who fixed it. An extremely bothersome and bad experience. read more

We used Hancock and James last year to install recessed lighting in our living room. They did a decent job installing the lights at a fair price. We had a much bigger project this month to replace all our old light fixtures with recessed lights. Hancock confirmed on the phone that they would be using same recessed lights as used in the previous project, however, what they installed were cheap $4 recessed lights you can order from Alibaba.com! I have 3 kids under 5 so was distracted and didn't check on the quality of the lights installed. Plus i was jet lagged coming back from europe the night before, however, it was my fault for not checking the fixtures. My wife upon returning back to home after the completion of the job noticed that the light quality and look was very different. I asked Hancock to fix the issue by replacing the lights with the ones we can provide and since i take responsibility i can provide the new lights at zero cost to him. But instead of accepting that he used cheap lights and would replace them, he first said that those older lights are no longer being sold!! That was a lie. As i found the same or similar ones at home depot, lowes and ace hardware stores or amazon. Second he asked $60 to replace each light!! That's in addition to the light i will buy and supply him. Definitely not going to use these guys and will be filing a complaint with the state of california consumer bureau on ethics and the way the business was conducted. read more
