I didn't appreciate the urgency (she said I needed it done asap, when I had at least 4 to 5 months). Aside from that, the communication from the project manager was competent & efficient. When Trout took over communication went haywire. During the city permitting process they said in their letter to me that I just needed to be home for (think the window was 8:30 to 9:45am). They said nothing about having to keep opening and closing my garage door access. Well, I refuse to use my PTO from work because they're not sure how long they're going to be, or the start and end times. So around 3 PM at work I got a frantic text from another (different) project manager asking me to open my garage. Well, hello, there is no power, so how can I open the garage? Finally, they got that sorted out and around 5 PM one of their techs asked me to open my garage. I never got a response back from him when I asked to confirm if he was done and I could shut it again (by the way, I was doing this remotely from work since I have an app.) Communication needs to greatly improve in order for me to recommend this business.

After the work was completed, I noticed that one breaker on my panel was missing a label. When I asked Caio, the owner, about it, I was told that they could not identify it during testing and that it might be connected to a hidden outlet. I was advised to turn the breaker off for several hours, or even a day, and see what stops working. When I asked what the old panel had listed for that breaker, I was told there was no label. As a customer who paid on time and in full, I expected better accountability. Since all of the wiring was stripped and reconnected during the panel replacement, I believe identifying and properly labeling the circuits should have been part of the job. The lack of ownership and follow-through was frustrating. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this service moving forward.

I wish I could be more generous in my rating since everything started so well. I was sure that when Daniel (owner) came out and found the problem, we had a 5-star provider fixing our electrical problem. So why 1 star? Read on... THE PROBLEM: We had a series of wall outlets that were no longer working in our living room. None of the circuit breaker were triggered on either the main panel or the sub-panel. There were no GFIs associated with this circuit. We are in the process of putting our house on the market so there was some urgency on our end. It was obvious to me that I needed the help of a professional. I spoke to a couple of electricians and Zair was responsive, offered a reasonable value, and low risk ($75 for the assessment). I accepted Zair's offer and Daniel came out to make his assessment. VISIT #1: Daniel came out personally. He checked the obvious stuff anyway (e.g., circuit breakers) because that's what pros do. He opened every outlet and found a poor splice in one of the boxes. He demonstrated to me that he found the problem and would install a superior connection that should fix the problem. He came, found the problem and (supposedly) fixed the problem in under an hour. Bravo! I was a little miffed when he asked for $150 ($75 for the assessment and $75 for the repair), but I was happy to have the problem solved and out of my hair. Later that night, I needed to vacuum in the living room and was shocked to find that the outlets were dead again. As before, none of the circuit breakers popped. I contacted Daniel and he said he would have his guys come out the next day to investigate. VISIT #2: Two electricians from Zair showed up to troubleshoot the problem. They could not see what the problem was. When I showed them the outlet where Daniel discovered the problem the day before, they said that wasn't the problem. They asked for access to the crawl space under the house (Daniel never went there). They found a hanging wire that wasn't tied to anything and they suspected that it was part of the problem. I objected because how could it be a part of the problem when (1) the outlets were working fine up until recently despite the hanging wire, and (2) Daniel got the outlets working without involving the hanging wire. Nevertheless, I deferred to the professionals because they know more than I do about such matters. They got the outlets working again by stringing an entirely new circuit and installing a new circuit breaker, so problem solved... right??? Later that night I found that the lights on the front of the house were unexplainably on, so I went to turn them off. To my surprise, the switch that powers the outside house lights couldn't turn off the lights. The lights were now on 24/7. Somehow the electricians made changes that overrode the switch to the outside lights. I contacted Daniel and he said he would check it out again. VISIT #3: The same two electricians came again, went under the house, as before and worked their magic. They asked me to see if the switch would turn off and on the house lights as before. You can see one of the four lights from the switch so the test was a simple one (or so I thought). The switch seemed to work so they guys packed their bags and left. Later that night I noticed that the 4th outside light (furthest west light) was on when I thought they were off. I went to turn them off and noticed that 3 of the 4 lights WERE off, but light #4 was on. The switch now operated 3 of the 4 house lights and #4 was on perpetually. I tried to contact Daniel, but he was unresponsive. After repeated attempts, he finally responded and essentially punted, saying that he and his guys were too busy to fix the problem (see attached text conversation). I reminded him about his one-year warranty, which he says applied only to the outlets. All of the other problems WHICH THEY CAUSED, were not covered. A couple of nights later my wife and our house stager turned on ceiling lights in the living room and 20-30 seconds later they heard a loud pop and the outlets died AGAIN. Since the outlets were under warranty, I contacted Daniel. He explained that he was traveling the next day and he would see if he could get his guys to come take a look. When I didn't hear from Daniel or his team near the end of the next day I opted to find a different electrician. The new guy found the wiring confusing and didn't want to mess with what he didn't understand (as Daniel's team did). He got the outlets working again and suggested we put the corner light on a photo sensor so that it was on at night for safety (next to a driveway) and off during the day. It was an imperfect solution, but it made sense. I wish Zair Electric would have tried to make lemonade when they are the ones who brought the lemons to the party in the first place. I have been giving out many 5-star ratings during our moving process. I would have loved to give one to Zair, but honestly, 1 star aptly describes the service we received. read more

I had can lights installed on the front and sides of my home. The brightness and hue of the lights matched perfectly with my existing porch lights and ground landscaping lights. The lights are programmable to turn on automatically through a switch installed in my garage. The lighting looks very beautiful; not too bright and gives a good accent to the stone exterior of my home, as well as provide extra security, especially on the sides of the house. I am very impressed with their customer service and installation from zair electric. Daniel the owner even came out the next day after the installation to adjust the intensity of the lights, since I wanted the lights set on the warmest/ dimmest setting. Note that their $75 fee is just for inspecting the issue. Once they're on-site, be prepared for a significantly larger bill. Their recommendation for a simple outlet fix was outrageously inflated. They proposed rewiring and panel replacement, estimating $1400. While I understand that unexpected staffing issues can arise, canceling at the last minute without advance notice was both disappointing and inconvenient. I had arranged my schedule and was expecting the technician to arrive, so receiving the cancellation at the scheduled appointment time was frustrating. The company did offer to reschedule, which I appreciated. However, I hope they improve their scheduling and communication processes so customers receive as much advance notice as possible when appointments need to be changed. Better planning and timely communication would provide a much better customer experience.

Yesterday, one electrician from a different company came in, investigated about an hour, concluded it'll take a full day job to locate the shortage, and quoted $1,800. Then, I contacted GES, and Hormoz came to our house at 7:45am as the first appointment in the morning. He fixed the issue in a similar amount of time that the other electrician needed just for triaging, and charged me only one third of their quote. Hormoz is very knowledgeable, trustworthy, and kind to explain the details. I definitely recommend GES and Hormoz for anyone needing electrician help.

David was not only very professional in his work, but was also very warm, down -to-earth, and non-intimidating to speak with. He addressed all my concerns. He even tried assisting me with correcting possible culprits over the phone. This was unheard of for me. I have never interfaced with any professional before who tried to help you over the phone for free! But David did. And I am truly thankful for that kindness. Electrical testing was now required to locate, repair and restore functionality. While here, he quickly got to work examining all the outlets and testing the panel. I left him to his work. The problem was discovered quickly, and he showed me why the power was not coming on. Fortunately, he had available with him the replacement part I needed which saved a trip to pick up the part. Worked like a charm! After 4 days of no power in the garage, I am truly a very happy camper! David verified that power was restored to an outdoor outlet that had stopped working as a result of the outage, as well as my alarm system. He offered great advice for things to be on the lookout for that could overload the system and trigger another outage. I will share my amazing experience with anyone I discover who need electrical work done. His services are also very reasonably priced. One of my friends has already declared JR Electric as their "Go To" for any future electrical needs. David and crew at JR Electric will always be mine.

The good news we did not have to pay him thousands to replace fuse box. It was PG&E problem. It cost me $290 for his time. His be price is high for 30 min of work. But, it is ok to get the answers right away. Before we got to the problems, he did tell me it is better to change the whole box instead of changing a fuse. Since the box was old.
