Yesterday, I called Craig that half my outlets in the kitchen were out after I moved the fridge to clean around it. He asked me a series of question to assess the issue. He said he would go to Home Depot be at my house to further look at the problem. Within an hour, he was able to check the breaker but no problem there. Craig changed out the outlet and informed me that the person who did the wiring, did it incorrectly as the live wire touched the ground wire and caused the short. I had a fuse that started tripping without any changes to the load. Craig firstly gave me several instructions over a video call to troubleshoot and when that didnt work, I scheduled an appointment. He first tried to replace the fuse and when that didnt work, he started looking outlet by outlet trying find the source. Craig was thorough and knowledgeable. Thank you Craig for your quick, reliable, and honest work. Before I looked for any electrician on yelp I went to ask PG&E if they can come check my house to see why the electricity of part of our house went off all of a suddenly and came back on after a few hours later automatically just in case if PG&E did some work in our area and probably disturbed our electricity line. Also, I had called PG&E just to ease my anxiety because i felt uneasy thinking that our house may catch on fire. PG&E did come out and explained that we had an old breaker and it was time to get it replaced. After knowing what the problem was, I then went ahead to find an electrician to get the problem fixed right away. Craig was the 2nd person on the list of electricians around my location. At the time, I contacted another electrician and then Craig to get a free estimate of the work. Within a few minutes Craig message me and gave me his direct phone number. I called him and let him know my situation and he was able to meet up with me on the same day after he finished doing another project at another house. Craig kept open communication by texting me to let me know he was on the way to the house. Once I got home, Craig came out and greeted me and started looking at the problem. He had all his tools and headlight on since it was an evening time and the sun is setting pretty fast. He explained how many amps I would need for the house and goes on to explain in detailed why part of the house has electricity and why the other half doesn't. He went on his phone and assure me he can get me the part right away and proceed to drive to the nearest Home Depot. He had called me and let me know that he will come back and didn't want me to feel that he left me hanging. He came back in 15 minutes. The job took less than 10 minutes. He literally took the new breaker from the packaging and the old breaker out and put in the new breaker in and hooray we got electricity back on for the other half of the house. I had asked him to wait while I check inside of house to see if everything worked and it did. In terms of the value of the work, I think I got a good deal since I did get an estimate from other electricians and it was within the same price and some was even more pricer than Craig. It has been 5 days and our house has electricity and nothing out of the ordinary happen. Craig is just an overall just a sweet person, he loves his grandchildren, dogs, and loves the work he does. He proceeds to tell me what he does when he is not doing electrician work which is spending time with his grandchildren and ride his motor bike. In the early evening I called Craig back after his response to my yelp inquiry; i was expecting to leave a VM. I was pleasantly surprised when Craig picked up. I explained to him my situation and he was able to fit me in given my need was quite time sensitive. When he arrived, I showed him the situation: new sewage ejection pump kept tripping my breaker. After he assessed the situation, he suggested a very simple fix which he suggested we try before doing anything more complicated. I highly recommend Craig for anyone living in the Milpitas area. We live in a townhome built in 2014 and the dimmers come with the house are all very low-quality. Those are the type of switches that can slide up and down to control the lights, and they broke one by one approaching 10 year span. I called Craig on a Monday morning and he was polite, jolly, responsive, and helpful. He made it to come by the next day, showed up with his minivan full of equipments and he recommended a brand of high-quality dimmer switch but I opted in for a regular one and he was cool with it. He did an evaluation and then finished fixing all three dimmers within an hour and he charged less than $200. What can I say folks? This rate at Bay Area sounds surreal to me, call him and book an appointment if lights are not working, you won't regret it. read more

I have had issues with my AC for some time. Trying to figure out what happened: did the basics checking on the capacitors and contactor - no issue; checked the thermostat: no issue, getting the 24v as supposed; then found that AC is not getting 240v. Craig replaced a couple switches and an outlet. It was my mistake that I didn't ask for a quote. There is a minimum fee for coming out. I haven't had minor electrical work performed in a while so I wasn't aware of a minimum fee. The price was more than the last time I had my switches replaced (4 years ago) as I also had other work done and more than anticipated for minor work. Minimum fee makes sense, and his pricing is likely reasonable. Up front communication about minimum fees and pricing would have been appreciated. I would have considered waiting and adding more work as my job wasn't an emergency. Craig is a personable guy, does good work and I'd recommend him for future jobs which is why I still provided a high rating but just make sure to discuss pricing up front with him if he forgets to bring it up. read more

I was very impressed by Craig's troubleshooting process and skills. One section of my house lost wall power. He methodically tested the circuits behind every outlets, traced the wiring up the attic, and finally identified the culprit in a GFCI located in another room. It took a bit of follow up with him to get him to come in and replace the lights. He did a great job all the while regaling me and my wife with his views on politics and world affairs! You're going to think I was paid to write this review. But I wasn't. When you hire people, you're always taking a gamble. Once in a while, you find someone who is a true craftsman. You find someone who doesn't just do a job, but really deeply cares about their work, as a reflection of themselves. This is Craig. He went above and beyond on some REALLY REALLY challenging projects. He managed to get outlets in places I simply didn't think were possible. He did work other electricians said would be way too complicated or impossible.... oh, and he did one of those hard jobs in only 2 hours. What started out as a few "we need some extra outlets" turned into three brand new ceiling fan wiring jobs, 5 outlets, and low voltage work. Everything came up looking FANTASTIC. He even patches his own drywall, no other electrician I found does that. He also covered the entire room(s) in plastic to prevent any dust from getting on our belongings. I really really really can't recommend him enough. His work was seriously top notch. The pic below in green is in a space only 10 inches high under a cabinet. How he did this? Craig, who was the third electrician I contacted in the morning, showed up in the evening and spent 3 hours looking for the problem. He came in the next day and continued to look for the problem.
