Ryan was just plain fun to be with!

Had an incredible set of guides, Sarah and Ryan, that were energetic, fearless, friendly and joyful. The tour was amazing and they took great care of us over the 2.5 hours on side-by-side ATVs. Ryan even photoed us including a great photobomb!

Dry River area, yes there is water when we went, that made it fun!

What a great experience! Highly recommend. We did a four seater with friends and it was lots of fun. Went through many muddy water areas and didn't get drenched like we thought before going. Felt extremely safe and the guides were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend booking through them verses at a princess lodge as it's cheaper to go through them. If you are military or retired, they also give a discount. Highly recommend!

A great day seeing more of Denali's beauty! Our ATV guides Radiator and Rooster were fantastic and explained the history of where we were. Highly recommend!! This was our second time using the his business.

This was a fun excursion. We booked the "Midnight Sun Tour" which took off around 9pm and got done around 11pm. Driving around, just outside Denali National Park made for some great views. It was also cool to be doing it late at night (even though the sun was still up or just setting because it was summer) Our guides really seemed to enjoy leading us around and talking about the surrounding area during the 3 pit stops along the way. Great places to take pictures! Ride was rough and very bumping (which was perfect for an ATV trip!). Even though it was bumpy, the machines were comfortable and seemed to be well taken care of. No one in our group had any problems. An excursion to add to your list for sure.

A 2 hour total blast. Amazing scenery, high energy guides, fun machine 3 stops for photos. Survived all the rocks, bumps and puddles of muddy water! Highly recommend !

It was fun, and I wouldn't discourage anyone from having a Denali ATV Adventures experience. Provided transportation to and from a spot right across from our lodge made things convenient. It was a good second-half to a day whose morning was spent taking a bus ride through Denali National Park. Now to justify my rating. There were 3 things that bothered me. One, you're in the middle of a "pack" led by a guide and tailed by a guide. There's so little freedom that they literally tell you to drive in the tracks of the vehicle in front of you. Needless to say, you're not supposed to go any faster or slower than the guide in front. I got in (mild) trouble for slowing down until I could see through the thick dust kicked up by the vehicles in front of me. Apparently I was supposed to keep my speed up and drive blind, at extreme risk of rear-ending anyone stopped in front of me. Two, way too much time was spent just standing around during stops. The format was to drive as a pack to a spot, kill the machines and get out. There a guide would tell you a bit about what you could see, and then, dead time - way too much dead time. An obvious way to reduce fuel costs and wear-and-tear, but not what we paid for (ATV riding). Three, our guide told us "Russian fur traders introduced mosquitoes to Alaska". It's laughably false - I checked later to be 100% sure - and after that I didn't trust or want to hear anything that came out of her mouth. This made the stops feel like an even bigger waste of time.

Hold on! We are going on a bumpy ride! It rained the day before and was raining highly the day we went atving. You ride in a quad side by side. Driving was fun at first, but I wanted to see the scenery, then my cousin drove. You drive about 15 miles over dry creek beds and hills and overlook some of Denali. Choosing free rocks was the highlight. I got Jadite and Quartz. My older aunt also drove. The price was $490 for 4, and they are jonsing for tips. Would have been much better for warmer weather and no rain. We took a chance with weather a month ago when booked.

The terrain and tour lacked excitement and variation.

I very rarely write negative reviews with tour guides and the only reason they get 3 stars from me is because I am a small business owner. The guides were nice people and took great care of my Daughter but the tour itself was as boring as can be...as you can see by my sleeping children mid-drive. Do NOT buy your tour from Princess or Holland and book directly...check Alaska Tour Saver for great coupons. If I paid full price for this ATV tour, I would be furious and would give a one star review. However, we enjoyed a discounted tour but it was just boring, dusty & you can't see much. Some might say, "it's Alaska in the summer so what do you expect them to do about the dust?" Well, they could water the trail with a tow behind once or twice a day to reduce some of the dust & for the money...they should. I would not pay the full published price for this tour...if you get a coupon then maybe. If you have done ATV tours before then don't book this one...spend your money on the zip line tour which I believe is owned but the same company and I will be giving them a stellar review because they are amazing...and you get an ATV experience going into the zip line park and out of the park. Seriously...some of the very best guides I have ever experienced. One last comment - most ATV tours give you a dust cover for your face for free which is the right thing to do but DATVA charges $8 for two of them which felt cheap and opportunistic. If you are going to charge for every little item for a $500+ tour then give everyone the dust cover for their face...better yet...groom your trails and maybe you will reduce the need for them. Just a thought.

Had a fantastic time with Aidan and Emily. We had never ridden before and were nervous but they were super patient and it was a blast. We did the midnight sun tour and ended up learning about wishing stones and carpet roots.

Check-in office - really close to Denali Lakeview Inn

Upon check-in you have to sign some waivers. Standard stuff. You can rent the Side-by-Sides or 4-wheelers. All rentals are tours - guided. They don't just rent you a vehicle for you to go ripping through the area. We had a blast! I think there were like 12 or more side by sides that went out on this tour! Thankfully, everyone on our tour seemed comfortable in the ATVs so there were no issues at all. (We went out in early August and the weather was perfect! Clear and Sunny morning!) Our guides were Jenny, Shane and Jeremiah. All of them were awesome! They kept us all together and made sure we didn't stray, and told us entertaining tidbits at each stop. There were 3 stops, and each of them gave a "schpeel". What they said exactly, I can't remember. I do remember it was entertaining and good info with some story-telling history. But like much of this 10-day adventure tour I'm on... it went in one ear and out the other... I enjoyed what I heard and found it cool, but for the life of me can't rememer what they said. Although, I do remember Shane showing us some neat rocks down in the dry (mostly dry) river bed area that we stopped in. The tour went way too fast. Although, I think start to finish it was about 2.5 hours. It felt fast. We got back dusty and all spun up on adrenaline even though this is mostly a pretty tame adventure. You get going like 24 mph and it feels like you're doing 60. ha! Note: I highly recommend you empty your bladder before going out for a ride. You get bounced around quite a bit, and there are no outhouses out on the trails.

Had an absolute blast; far exceeded expectation! Guides "Moss" and "Boots" were very knowledgeable. We learned a bunch about the historical land uses and local flora and fauna.

This was by far the most unique tour we had in a while. We took the 5:00 PM tour, and our driver,…read moreJoel Miner, was none other than the owner himself. There are 5 Sherp vehicles and we felt very fortunate and honor to have him as our guide. We are a family of four, including two teenagers, and he made the experience enjoyable for all of us. He even used a drone to scout the area for wildlife. As a retired state trooper who participated in rescue missions, he immediately made us feel safe and comfortable. He was fun, knowledgeable, and shared many personal stories that kept our entire family entertained throughout the tour. Toward the end of the trip, he spotted a young moose in a nearby field, which was the perfect cherry on top of an already amazing experience. One of the best parts was receiving a souvenir video package that included drone footage from our tour. It was such a thoughtful touch and a wonderful keepsake. Highly recommended! We had a fantastic experience, and it was well worth the money.

Then we came to Alaska and spent 3 days in the Fairbanks area without seeing any wildlife. I drove around Healy...beautiful mountains, but still no wildlife. To be clear, there's never a guarantee of seeing animals in the wild, Joel was very clear on this point, but Joel, Tim, and Mark did everything to increase our chances and they delivered! Between two simultaneous Sherp vehicles and multiple drones scouting ahead for wildlife, we saw 2 adult moose and a cub. We also saw a snowshoe hare. We also saw beautiful mountain ranges from a perspective you won't see from the roadway, even if you visit Denali National Park. We got to ride over frozen rivers and lakes and see a historic WW2 era cabin and hear the unique history of it, as well as Alaska in general. The guides went out of their way to make the trip fun, safe, and informative. In the end, the tour was expensive, but a fantastic value for what you get. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area.

I've…read moreenjoyed almost every kind of tour all over the world and this was definitely top 10 out of 100 and maybe even top 5. First, the safety policy and procedures are flawless & while the guides love to have a great time, they take safety seriously as only a Master of their Craft can! Dev & Kyle worked together like a well oiled machine and had infectious attitudes & passion for life! When I write words of praise for Dev & Kyle, you might read it as just trite sayings but you can review my past reviews and you will see some very direct & critical comments so my words of praise were 100% earned by Dev & Kyle. The course was fun & challenging so if you are scared of heights...this is the perfect fit to face your fears and overcome them with professionals! I taught mountaineering my Summer before Senior year of Military High-school & was insanely impressed with their attention to detail, safety protocol, communications and redundancies. I gave the ATV tour some critical remarks and stand by them but equally stand by my words of praise for this crew! We are a family of six and brought our four kids with us: 8-14. The guides were just superb - even the other guide we interacted with was a ball of positive fire! It's a great group of people and while the lines aren't the tallest or the longest or the highest...it was by far the most unique & diverse and definitely the longest experience to date. One recommendation - It would be great if the operator provided bug spray as a relatively low cost comfort but definitely bring your own!

Upon arrival at Denali, I contacted  Denali Zipline Adventures and stated that my 72 year old wife and I, "did not feel safe" participating in the zip line experience because of the advisory.  I spoke with Kelsey the manager and expressed our concerns.  Kelsey stated that they were very experienced and were confident that it would be Ok. I reiterated my concerns and the feeling that we "did not feel safe" participating on that day. Kelsey refused to accommodate us and stated that we could do the excursion the following day.  That was not possible because the wind advisory extended to the following day and we were scheduled to depart the following morning. The Denali Zipline Adventures website clearly states that "Safety is our Primary concern" and it also states that winds of 30 mph are sufficient to cancel an event. I have screen shots of the National Weather Service posts for proof but can't post them here...
