I was honestly very nervous about how my hair would lift and what the end result would look like but Marine completely exceeded my expectations! Not only is the red gone, my hair still feels healthy and I didn't have to cut off inches due to damage or experience significant breakage/hair loss. What surprised me the most is that she was actually able to get me to a beautiful blonde in this first session. I had previously been told by other stylists that going blonde would take several sessions and that I would probably have to start with a light brown before I could even get close to blonde. I completely understood that maintaining the health of my hair might mean taking things slowly, so I was prepared for that which made seeing my final result even more exciting! I'm actually quite picky with my haircuts and I usually leave a little dissatisfied so it's been hard to find someone consistent to cut my hair. Melissa was patient, let me show her a few reference pictures, and knew exactly what I wanted. She gave me a U-cut, with a few layers (not too much 'cause my hair is babylighted already) that helped with how heavy my hair felt. I also wanted long curtain bangs.. long enough to reach behind my ears. She asked me additional questions like whether I wanted her to fix the shape of the hair, and was more than happy to help me do it. My haircut also included a deep conditioning, which she used Kenra Reconstructive Mask and it made my hair so soft and detangled! She uses quality products and also uses a heat protectant before she blow-dried!  Customer Service: Melissa is soOoO nice and relatable. She had recommendations, was responsive through text, and is super down to earth. She's chill and easy to talk to. Even though it was our first appt, I felt super comfortable with her! :) She's also a cosmo/barber instructor at American Beauty College so it was cool to know that she shares her knowledge with students!  Her Instagram is @smockednloaded if you want to give her a follow! Parking: No issues with parking at all. Her shop at Sola is located in a big plaza that has Vons, Dollar Tree, Ross, etc with plenty of parking available. It was peaceful inside, only a couple other clients were in there at the same time as me. They have complimentary water, snacks, and coffee for their clients which I really appreciated. Overall, it was $75 for wash + cut + blow dry. These women work hard so the price was worth it & honestly it's a good price in Los Angeles. Recommend coming here if you need your hair cut! ‍

The assistant used a rough towel to scrub my wet hair). Then she brushed my wet hair from the root down to the ends. Any hair dresser knows this is an incorrect and potentially damaging technique, especially when the hair is wet and more prone to breakage. She caused knots to form, which she repeatedly tugged at to remove, creating even more unnecessary tension and potential breakage. She never even used a detangler or leave in. No heat protectant was applied before blow-drying. I also noticed the assistant repeatedly blow drying the same section of my front bangs 7-8 times. That was excessive, especially since the hair around my hairline is thin, delicate, and was already dry at that point. There is no attention to detail, no consideration to the health of the hair. I left concerned about the amount of stress and potential damage done to my hair as well as a patchy dye job. Lee and her staff need better training and education on proper hair handling techniques.

When my scalp was examined, she mentioned my hair was oily so they'll use an oil-controlled shampoo which I liked the customization. I also didn't know how much your scalp can tell you about your lifestyle; the diagnosis was spot on. I don't know who I got but she was absolutely great! There was a language barrier but she used a translating app which I didn't mind at all. She turned on the massage chair which does your whole body and gave me a legit solid scalp, head, neck, shoulder, and chest massage with the perfect amount of pressure. She noticed how tight my neck and shoulders were and offered a longer massage on those parts (so grateful!). Since I don't wear makeup, she also massaged around my eyes and face which was much needed to relieve the head tension I had. Then she focused on my washing hair and other scalp treatments and more massage before blow drying my hair on the chair for the final scalp exam. It was very relaxing and enjoyed it greatly.

I love that they did several cycles of washing, massaging, rinsing, and repeating on my scalp. Some of the products felt nice and refreshing (maybe tea tree or mint). The seats/beds had massagers built in which was awesome! I hadn't seen that at other spas before! Lastly I wanna mention I found them on Groupon and when I called to see if they had same day availability and mentioned Groupon, they said they could price match in person (assuming since Groupon takes a cut).
