I chose to go to Denessa because I have red on Yelp how good she is handling blondes. Since I am in new in town I was in big need for a good hair stylist. I have a medium light blond hair naturally, with highlights in it. I wanted something way lighter, but still not the full platinum blond (maybe i go with that once, just right now I am a bit afraid of doing that :) ). Something which allows me that I do not have to go every 2-3 weeks to do it again, which is pretty much needed if you go full platinum, unless one likes the darker roots. She did sort of a balayage thing on my hair, if you go, you will see why sort of, it seems to be working very well, it is just not the traditional thing done by everyone else. The effect is really natural I have to say! I am really happy with my result, my hair a little dry still, but It will go away, as a blond, it is always like that after going blonder and blonder. She recommended me some products I should use to keep the icy tone in my color, which I was going for.( I am pretty pale, so I felt always, that the yellowish warmer tones do not work that much for me ). Only thing I am gonna change next time is that I find my original highlights a little too warm next to the platinum put on my hair right now, so I will ask to make them have a little bit of icy tone too next time:) If you are a blond, go for Denessa! Denessa is honestly one of the best hairdresser and colorist I've experienced in Los Angeles! And trust me I even dated one! First and most important Denessa's hair salons is one of the most relaxing environment I ever experienced. I'm used to being in a big salon with multiple stylists and felt uncomfortable. Her salon is a room with one other stylist. It has a TV where we watched nurse Jackie Bc it's my favorite show the whole time she did my hair. It is very personable. I felt so relaxed the whole time. Her professionalism and the quality of her work are exemplary and she will be my hairstylist as long as I'm in the same city as she is. Scheduling an appointment with Denessa was easy as this woman is a hustler and works crazy hours throughout the week. I was able to get a Saturday appointment time no problem and although I arrived an hour past my scheduled time (will explain later), she was still able to perform with great results despite having to juggle two clients at once. Now for why I was late: the address listed on Deness'a Yelp page was her home address, not the address of her salon. When I had last seen Denessa, she was in transition from moving from 9022 Salon to a new location - to bigger and better things! Loved getting my hair done with Denessa! I first discovered her and Kraft Salon after seeing her work done on a friend, and I knew I had to try her out. I wanted to upgrade my grown out long bob with blonde ombré to a little bit shorter of a cut with subtle lavender tips/ streaks. "You are a wizard." Those were my words to Denessa when she finished my hair. I found Denessa by looking up 'color correction expert' and saw her amazing photos. When I came in the salon for the first time, she was finishing up a client that looked at herself in the mirror and shrieked, "This is the best I've EVER looked!" STILL, I was completely amazed when she finished my hair and did EXACTLY what I asked for. I'm a natural blonde that, like so many blondes, decided to experiment with going darker then changed my mind after 6 months and tried to get back to blonde with another stylist. Not so much. When I came in to see Denessa, I still had brown hair but now with stringy white-blonde highlights. Where do I begin? Well I want to start off, although Denessa got into a pretty huge car accident before our appointment. She still worked on my hair like a CHAMP/BADASS. I found reviews about Danessa online in a panic because my long time hair dresser had seriously f*ed up my hair. For years my previous hairdresser had done my hair Jennifer Aniston blonde. I had told her it was getting too blonde and her version of toning it down turned into alternation white blonde, my natural dark brown color and brass streaks. It was so hideous and right before my dude was coming visiting. Danessa fit me in right away. She takes late appts which is great if you work normal business hours.
