I grew up going to this location and it's as good as I remember. Quick service, lots of open seating, and my favorite gyro around. The sandwich is loaded with meat, so flavorful and heaped with the best tzatziki.

OMG I love this place! We went for lunch one weekday, and my gyro was amazing. I woofed down the entire thing. It was so good. The rest of my family loved their salads and other meals they had ordered as well. We enjoyed our meal so much, that we went to the second location a few days later for dinner, and had the ribs. The ribs were fantastic. They have a Greek Baklava milkshake! Their regular baklava is a great move...I highly recommend. Slalds are fresh and green...no bag lettuce here. Big chunks of fresh Greek feta. My Dad loved his soup. Service here is a combo of order at the counter, then pick up your food when your number is called. When you are finished, there is a person who buses your dishes and cleans up your table. This way, everything is fresh and clean for the next customer. This place is busy all day long. This will be a regular place for me...this one is a winner.

Haven't been here in a long time. It was right before the lunch rush. The place has been renovated and looks welcoming and amazing. There is staff behind the counter, staff to bring the food to your table and staff that clears away your tray. The food is still amazing and worth the price. Normally I order the gyro but today felt like having a burger. Never had anything else here and it was very good. The fries were crispy. The mushrooms were good but small. So I would say isn't really worth it. I'll be back again when in the area. It never disappoints.

Another fantastic lunch with my coworker at Dengeos today. They have not failed me after all these years. I opted for a hamburger this time. It was cooked perfectly. The buns were soft and fresh, the patty was cooked perfectly, and let's not forget the crunchy lettuce that made every bite delightful. I'm not sure why I never ordered it before. I sure will order again soon. My friend had the chicken stir fry. She said it was very good and enjoyed it very much. They have a large private parking lot. There are plenty of seats for all to enjoy. I would definitely return and try other items.

We were visiting Chicago and we all wanted something different to eat , so happy we found Dengeos. It was like a Greek diner , but counter service which was really interesting because I'm not familiar with it , made it a bit difficult tho because the menu is EXTENSIVE ! So much to choose from. It was impressive. I was in the mood for Italian Beef so I ordered one with cheese and it was amazing , everyone in our party loved the food. As I walked out I looked at other peoples tables and everyone had completely different meals and they all looked amazing. Not sure when I'll be back but the Gyros look legit! Great place !!

Dengeos has been a staple go to in the area for Greek food since I could remember. Located right on the corner of Main street and McCormick avenue, the scent from all the deliciousness cooking inside spreads throughout the neighborhood. The menu boasts your typically Greek fast food cuisine with gyros, Grecian style chicken and the like with so many options to choose from. We came in to order carryout to eat at home. The indoor dining area was packed and lively. The atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting and felt like I was about to eat at one of my family parties. I knocked this review one star because the ordering line and organization in who was next and where to go was a bit chaotic and no real organization to speak of. With that said, I decided to take the first opportunity to order when I could. We mostly ordered chicken dishes,, chicken Philly, chicken gyros (the chicken is shredded like the traditional gyros meat and not chunks like other places), chicken kabob and side orders of fries, and there Italian meatball for my daughter. All superb tasting and definitely worthwhile to return back.

Counter service. Food is okay. Floors are gross, sticky tables. I don't know why anyone would go here with so many other great options.

I am traveling with my two kids (2 years old and 10 months old) and we took them - and I have to say everyone was very kind and accommodating, even when my youngest became very vocal. I can say with certainty that this was my kids' first table cloth experience, so I'm grateful for the hospitality! The food was great. I am the type of person who loves small plates, so that's all I ordered: tirokafteri, horiatiki, Greek potatoes, Briami...plus I filled up on their bread (the olive oil on the tables is so good) and my sister gave me her revithiosoupa (chickpea soup), which I have to say was surprisingly good. It looked underwhelming, but was full of flavor. I was impressed with what I ate and would love to go back without small children someday :) I didn't get to talk to anyone in Greek, which always makes me a little sad, but maybe .

I called in and ordered a gyros combo over the phone and the employee was like "okay a number ten, anything else?" I replied no and was at the restaurant in 10 minutes. But the kids were really chill about it and started to make the gyros instantly when they realized thats what I wanted. A greek gyro is unlike any other. Thin strips, perfectly placed into the pita. Sauce was over all the strips not just the top. Fries looked to be the frozen kind(still fried perfectly tho) but they complemented the sandwich just right. All in all, great place and the restaurant itself was SUPER clean. I would just recommend not to repeat the combo # to customer to confirm what they want since some people may not know the difference between a #1 and a #10. Either way I recommend.

Now I have eaten at a lot of Mediteranean restaurants over the years & just like every other food type there are some great place, good places & mediocre places. Larsa's definitely rates in the great range. Their food is delicious. In the past people, myself included used Pita Inn as a benchmark, but that's mainly because in the beginning there wasn't much to compare to. I have been trying different Mediteranean restaurants and Larsa's left PI in the rear view mirror. You can't even begin to compare the food at Larsa's to the former as the ingredients and flavors are far superior. Sure the cost is a little more, but there is absolutely no comparison as Larsa's food is far superior everything is made individually and not an assembly line production We started with a cup of lentil soup. I was like a starving animal savoring every bit of that soup. I should have gotten a bowl as it was delicious. Our server Nadia also brought out a regular serving of the jalapeño & cilantro hummus served w/warm thin pita bread. OMG this was like heaven. My sister mentioned that she could make a meal out just the hummus and the pita and I agree. Next we had the Fatoush Salad this has crispy pita crust, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, green peppers w/a dressing with olive oil, lemon & sumac. This was just ok, but I liked the crispy pita bread it added a nice crunch. We split a combo platter as the portion size is very generous. This dish comes w/chicken kabobs, beef kifta, beef shawarma, red onions, tomatoes slices & basmati long grain rice. The kifta & chicken kabobs were both very tasty, it they were a little dry. The beef shawarma was cooked & seasoned perfectly as the pieces just melted in my mouth. Every once in awhile our server Nadia came by and was very helpful in telling us about dishes we had questions about. She was super cool and friendly. There was another server that was also very helpful, but we didn't catch her name. Sometimes you go to a restaurant that everyone raves about and you think ehhh what the big deal, but this isn't the case w/Larsa's. I will definitely be back again. Thanks for the heads up Yelpies you picked a winner.

I know it's tough to cook pork chops, but, they're a restaurant. You'd think they'd know how to cook pork chops the right way. So, in conclusion, it was a big letdown for me on this new find. There was a steady stream of phone orders coming in for pick up, and the restaurant was busy overall. We were helped right away and the staff at the counter were so friendly. I ordered a Maxwell street sausage as a meal ($5 additional for a drink and fries) and my partner ordered the American Gyro sandwich and also as a meal. We grabbed a table and our drinks from the fountain machine and only waited a few minutes for the number on our receipt to be called with our order. The food here is so fresh and delicious. This is one of the best Maxwell street sausages I've had around, the bread was perfect and soft inside and crispy on the outside with the sausage split and grilled and perfectly sweet caramelized onions. The fries looked like they came in frozen/pre-cut but were fried up perfect and a generous portion. The Gyro came stacked with meat, it wasn't dry, and had great flavor. Because the food was so delicious I decided to grab a piece of baklava to go, which I was assured was homemade and delicious - and they were right. So sweet, fresh, textured, rich, luxurious. Don't skip the baklava when you stop by! This is definitely a spot that will be added to our regular rotation of lunch/dinner spots around town.
