I highly recommend Dr. Dennis Chuck MD for Opthamology! HE IS GOOD! Very patient and kind man and willing to answer questions. I've been working with another Opthamologist who was rude. Impatient, and not wanting to answer questions. Dr. Dennis really took his time to explain possible complications and problems that could happen with a shifting or dislocated IOL lens, I'm thankful he took the time to make me feel comfortable and walk me through whether I should take the risk on the procedure and his recommendations. I visited a new eye doctor for my vision. I have dry macular degeneration and had cataracts procedure done on both eyes in 2022. The office was clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I didn't have to wait long in the lobby or to be seen. Dr. Chuck was quick and went straight to the point. I'll be coming back in two weeks for a laser procedure. I did feel a bit rushed, but overall the service was good. Would I recommend this place? I'm not sure yet. Date of visit: August 2025 read more

I cannot say enough about this practice. I met Dr. Chuck for the first time this year, and subsequently had cataract surgery in one eye. I am very satisfied with the surgery itself, it was relatively painless and the improvement in my vision remarkable. The office staff is very courteous, the assistants are knowledgeable. They treat patients with respect and concern. The staff at the clinic was equally professional and attentive. The preparation and post op instructions were more than adequate. I really really like Dr Chuck he helped me with a bad stye in my eye. I will continue to see him as needed so he gets 5 stars along with his nurse and two front counter women. Beware of rude office worker I give no stars for office worker I do have a complaint about office woman who was yelling and cussing at the employees. I went to counter and told lady that it's unprofessional for this type of language in this office full of patients. She just wouldn't stop yelling and cussing. They took it to another room but left the door open and the yelling continued. When she came I asked to speak to her and she put her hand in my face as to say talk to the hand. She walked away as I was talking to her and she just sarcasticly said to me (a patient) whatever many times to my face. I have worked in many companies and know this is unacceptable behavior especially when customers or patients are around. She just did not care the nurse apologized to me which was very nice of her. But she wasn't the one who should've apologized. I am having trouble with the stars and how many to give. Subpar experience, probably would not choose to walk in here if it weren't for insurance referral sending me here. Office and equipment not updated. Staff could definitely be trained more. With so many places you can purchase glasses nowadays, not sure why this optical would be appealing. Doctor is still a doctor and competent enough to handle certain conditions (cataract, stye), but perhaps not the best bedside manner due to office being so busy. No big draw to go here, seek out other options if possible, especially if you have an advanced condition. read more

Dr. Chuck did two cataract surgeries (left/right) on me. They were both successful. I now have 20/20 vision. No glasses needed whatsoever. Opted for the lens upgrade. The office is run like a Swiss clock. Everyone has a specific job and there is no time wasted. The clients are elderly (geriatric). Dr. Chuck is a cut-to-the-chase kind of doctor. No small talk. He gets his business done and you are out of there. If you like your hand held or have the need to feel special this doctor is not for you. His office is always crowded and often there is no parking. He spends very little time with you and knows what he's doing. You have to speak up if you have questions and he will take the time to answer them. He can be quite humorous at times. He performs his surgeries at Pomona Valley Medical Center. It's the best hospital I have ever been in. Would not go anywhere else for anything. It was a win/win for me. Only 4 **** stars because of the waiting room times. read more

This guy is a (POS) he did surgery on my eye and put a lens implant, after a couple of days I couldn't see it was very blurry, his office don't care they treat you like sheep just another invoice for them to charge insurance. I tried to setup a appointment to have a conversation with him and they told me I needed a referral from my doctor and I still had to pay him $10 co-pay before he would even have a conversation with me regarding the job he did on my eye, I had another office tell me it could be a loose lens so I told him and he gets offended, it's very easy for him not to give a crap since it's not his eye. I went to see Dr. Chuck last October. I wasn't very happy when I left his office. I waited for over an hour to be seen, then I had my eyes dilated for the test, waited about 20 minutes longer. The doctor did a quick test. I actually came in because I was having uncomfortable feelings in my left eye, like something is scratching my eye and my eye aches afterward. I told him that this happens every few weeks but I can't find anything in my eye. I also needed new glasses so I was going to have a vision exam and get new glasses, because my vision has changed and my current glasses aren't right. Fortunately, my insurance covers most of the costs. After he took his initial test, he said there was nothing wrong with my eye (I still have this issue every two to three weeks, same eye, same feelings). Then he says "that's it", and I say, "I wanted my vision tested and new glasses". He said "I'm sorry I don't have time for that, I'm too busy, go see an optometrist". He really said that. So now I have to pay for the vision exam and new glasses. I was in his office for about 5 - 10 minutes. read more

Dr. Chuck performed two miracles on me. Firstly, the surgery for a cataract was amazing. My vision is now perfect! Words cannot express the gratitude that I feel for a doctor who has done this for me. Secondly, I had three falls last year resulting in a life changing injury for me. After Dr. Chuck performed my cataract surgery I now have my balance back and no longer have to walk with a cane. Before the surgery, I had no depth perception, that is why I kept falling. I was impressed by a colleagues glasses she purchased from this office. She loved the staff and the doctor. I had a very different experience. The front office was just ordinary and not pleasant at all. In fact they made two errors in setting up my annual exam which caused me to miss a year and a half checkup. When I finally saw the fine doctor I told him I had floaters. After the nurse dilated my eyes, he examined my eyes and said he wanted to see me in a month to get a new pair of glasses. My vision was blurred and still had floaters. My sister suggested I go to Costco and get my glasses and I did. The Optometrist there gave me an exam and took an additional picture of my eyes and identified my problem. I have a diseased retina, aged macula degeneration. I went back to the fine doctor and told about my examine. He was very irritated and not happy at all about my report. He looked at my eyes and said, "Yea, you do have floaters and yes you have macula. He wrote me a prescription for A-reds and said, "There's nothing you can do about it and you may or not go blind." He knew he was negligent in his care for me and the visit was no charge. Needless to say, I have found a great doctor that is really concerned and cares about his patients. read more

Dr. Chuck did my mother's cataract surgery some time ago. She ended up with cross eyed vision. Not good. He recommended a doctor to put prism in the lens of her glasses to correct it, but it never should have been bad to begin with. There were only two eye doctors in all of Southern California that could make those lenses. I am sorry I did not do better research and find a better doctor. I would never let him do anything with my eyes. read more

Dr. Chuck is an ok guy, he's nice enough. His office is orderly, clean... convenient parking. Open on Saturdays as long as you make your appointment far enough in advance. BUT... His receptionist is so bitchy. She's short and tight lipped with her answers. Doesn't matter if I call in the morning, or afternoon, it's gonna bother her. If I don't have to put up with her kind, I don't. Anyway, I had to switch to Pomona Valley Optometry. So far Dr. Khanh Le and staff seem to be better. read more

Horrible experience. Went in for irritated corner of my eye. Had appointment and waited an hour still. Then when I get in Dr. Chuck rushes me so he can "go to lunch". As a patient, give me my time and don't concern me with your hungry belly. He spent no more than 3 minutes with me before his lunch and told me something that horrified me. He said i likely have herpes in my eye and that surgery may be required to save my eye. I was in shock and he said it with no concern except for having to go to his lunch! I asked if he's sure about the diagnosis and he was irritated with my question and rushed me out of the office. I got a second opinion with Dr. Peter Chen in West Covina who was more caring, patient and didnt talk about lunch. He said it was a simple infection and would go away with a little ointment and that eye herpes are extremely rare and that i absolutely don't have that. What a nightmare. read more
